Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 156: Chapter 157: Golden-eyed Crow

Inside the Earth Fire Room, the crimson light had not yet completely dissipated, and Ye Jingcheng’s face appeared somewhat flustered.

This time, Ye Xuefu was not like Ye Haiyun before, who intentionally slowed down to accommodate him.

And this was a Tier Two Pill Formula.

It was far more complex than a Tier One Pill Formula.

Just memorizing it after one look was too difficult.

Moreover, some details could not be sensed without using Divine Sense inside the Pill Furnace.

Ye Xuefu had not informed him in advance to prepare.

But now that Ye Xuefu had spoken, Ye Jingcheng still complied; doing poorly and not doing it were two different matters.

He took out the Jade Talisman and began to slowly describe the Pill Formula.

Since he had always had this habit, it didn’t pose a problem at first; instead, it went quite smoothly.

He recorded the maturity, age, and fire temperature of each Spirit Medicine one by one, encountering a few incomprehensible spots only during the Melted Medicine stage.

“Ninth Ancestor!” Ye Jingcheng handed over the Jade Talisman respectfully.

The latter took a glance, his face showing no expression.

He only uttered two words: “Ordinarily.”

Ye Jingcheng breathed a sigh of relief; as long as it wasn’t a complete mess, that was good.

Knowing the Ninth Ancestor’s standards were exceptionally high.

Pills without Pill Fragrance were not considered a Pill.

“In the future, when I refine pills, you should come and observe and draw the Pill Formula!” Ye Xuefu marked the Jade Talisman, even highlighting some research methods within it for Ye Jingcheng.

Then he handed it to Ye Jingcheng.

“I will also refine the Foundation Establishment Pill in the future, but due to the Heavenly Dao Oath, I cannot mark it for you, understand?” Ye Xuefu spoke again.

This time, Ye Jingcheng was startled.

Unable to mark the Foundation Establishment Pill meant that when acquiring the Pill Formula, one couldn’t pass it verbally.

In the Cultivation Realm, the scarcity of Foundation Establishment Pill and Purple Mansion Jade Liquid formulas in the outside world was because of this.

Whether issued by a Sect or sold outside, buyers are required to take a Heavenly Dao Oath not to pass it on to others, and some even harsher ones require the oath to prevent further transmission of the formula.

Thus, even if someone viewed and drew the Pill Formula, it can’t be passed on.

Otherwise, the first person’s Heavenly Dao Oath would still take effect.

“Also, remember to be cautious when you travel outside; sometimes, Heavenly Dao Oaths are ineffective!” Ye Xuefu, feeling his words didn’t quite sound right, thinking it seemed like loophole exploitation by the family, added further.

“Ninth Ancestor, Jingcheng understands!” Ye Jingcheng nodded.

“Continue cultivating with the Yun Furnace, the path of Alchemy is long, and I hope you see a higher viewpoint.” Ye Xuefu, feeling sentimental, left the Earth Fire Room without saying more.

Refining this Purple Sun Pill was evidently taxing.

“Thank you, Ninth Ancestor!” Ye Jingcheng repeatedly nodded.

He was deeply grateful to Ye Xuefu.

If he learned the Foundation Establishment Pill formula this time, he could refine it himself in the future, even if his few Spirit Beasts lacked sufficient blood and Spiritual Energy, they could use the Foundation Establishment Pill for assistance.

Furthermore, his status within the family could be elevated.

Suppressing his excitement, Ye Jingcheng meticulously summarized before practicing with the Yun Furnace.

This time, imitating Ye Xuefu, he closed his eyes and rested, with myriad ideas about the Yun Furnace emerging in his mind.

For a long time, he seemingly heard the call of an elephant and took out the Cyan Elephant Furnace, placing it into the flames.

This time, the flames were immense, and Ye Jingcheng felt a trace of cyan light emerging within the flames.

The next moment, under his Divine Sense perception, all the Spirit Patterns within the Cyan Elephant Furnace were observed by him.

The flames began to change, and accompanied by a clear elephant call, this time, the entire Cyan Elephant Furnace glowed cyan as if a cyan elephant was lifting its foot.

“It finally succeeded!” The feeling of the Yun Furnace was truly marvelous; even Ye Jingcheng enjoyed it immensely.

Finishing with the Yun Furnace, Ye Jingcheng summarized once again; soon, he wouldn’t need to practice the Yun Furnace anymore.

He stepped out of the Earth Fire Room into the hall, where he found Ye Jingyu and Ye Xingyu had already returned; for days, they had been accompanying each other, while Ye Jingcheng’s three Spirit Beasts coordinated to an extreme without needing them.

Thus, Ye Jingcheng acted alone, while the two of them journeyed together.

This approach was more stable.

Their choice was to first elevate the Tier Two Spirit Beast, then cultivate their Lifebound Spirit Beast.

Ye Jingcheng’s current thinking changed; if the Red Flame Fox advanced to Tier Two first, he would undergo Tier Two advancement before Foundation Establishment, but if the Foundation Establishment Pill was ready and the Red Flame Fox had not advanced, he would choose another Tier Two Spirit Beast from the family.

This would ensure the maximum speed of his own Cultivation.

“Fourth Brother, Fifteenth Uncle!” The next moment, Ye Jingcheng was slightly surprised.

As the two were now noticeably injured, a large burned area was vaguely visible beneath their Daoist Robes.

Their faces were pale.

It seemed like they had been chased by Fire Attribute Cultivators.

Ye Xuefu gave them a Spirit Pill to gradually improve their condition.

Their faces became slightly rosier, but there was still some lingering fear in their eyes.

“A Golden-eyed Crow appeared, chasing a Golden Armor Pig!” Ye Xingyu pasted an Ice Purity Talisman on the wounded area, trying to ease the pain somewhat.

Ye Jingcheng was also surprised upon hearing about the Golden-eyed Crow.

Demon Beasts typically have territorial awareness, even if the territorial awareness of flying creatures isn’t as strong, the regions they can fly to are quite broad, yet they still have territorial awareness.

They only hunt familiar prey and are highly alert to outsiders.

“The beast seems to have laid eggs, its aura was unusual, appearing severely depleted, otherwise, we couldn’t have escaped!” Ye Jingyu added from the side, casually taking out a Jade Talisman showing the scene of the Golden-eyed Crow spewing flames.

“When your Fifteenth Ancestor returns, he will tell you all!” Ye Xuefu said, followed by a pat on Ye Jingyu’s shoulder.

The group waited, and before long, Ye Xueliang walked in.

“Brother Jiu, it indeed just laid eggs; this Golden-eyed Crow is at least a Tier Two High-grade Demon Beast, possibly even reaching Tier Three!”

“Moreover, this Golden-eyed Crow lacked means to control enemies internally, resulting in its venture to the outer areas!”

“Let’s prepare then, the spiritual fire of the Tier Two Golden-eyed Crow is no trivial matter, and its entire body of Fire Feathers is a significant treasure!” Ye Xuefu nodded in agreement to this action.

Then he looked towards Ye Jingcheng:

“There’s a high probability of the Golden-eyed Crow having an Inner Core, perhaps your Red Flame Fox will have a stroke of fortune!”

For Demon Beasts, the best supplement for advancement is the Inner Core of a same-attribute Demon Beast.

However, these Inner Cores are exceedingly rare, Ye Jingcheng had only seen one in Jade Dragon Valley.

Assessing the existence of Inner Cores follows a rule; Spirit Beasts proficient in casting magic are likely to have one, while those relying on brute strength with muscular builds seldom do.

The Red Flame Fox is the best example.

Thus, Ye Xuefu said the Golden-eyed Crow likely has one.
