Hidden Marriage, Overbearing Love: Mr! Please Let Me Go

”You caused all this! And you still have the nerve to be so justified! Yao didn’t forcibly drag you off for execution by the sharks; that’s already the most merciful concession he’s made to you!” Beitang Ting clutched his chest in pain. ”Now, both Che and I have to take the fall for you! Tell me, what exactly did Xia Qingqian do to offend you?”

”I did this only to help you reclaim what you deserve, didn’t I? This family was originally governed by you! Now letting that brat Beitang Yao take control of everything and forbidding anyone here from being involved in the Beitang Family’s business, what right does he have?” Ling Mei clutched her cheek and stepped forward, pounding on Beitang Ting’s chest. ”I’ve done so many things for you over the years, and this is how you repay me!”

”Beitang Ting, you’re a bastard! I know you don’t like Bai Xi, so Madam Rong and I helped you get rid of her! Back then, you didn’t stop us either! It was you who personally killed Beitang Yao’s mother!”

”You crazy woman! What nonsense are you spouting!” Beitang Ting’s face fell when Ling Mei said this! His eldest son was standing nearby listening...

Beitang Che had never seen his father hit his mother, but now he actually struck her. He had always thought that the woman his father loved was his mother, but who would have thought his father would hit her.

Was all their past affection just an illusion?

”Mom, what are you saying? Was Yao’s mother’s death really not an accident? How could you do such a thing?” Beitang Che could never have imagined that his mother would commit such a heinous act!

”This whole thing was because of him! If I didn’t love him, would I have done such things? I was merely a pawn in your father’s game! He loves no one but himself!” Ling Mei railed in anger, ”Che, you’re also his son, so why don’t you get any benefit?”

”Mom! I’m doing just fine! I have my own business!” Beitang Che frowned, looking at his mother’s swollen cheek, and he called for the servant to fetch an ice pack to press on it.

”What’s so fine about that? You spend all day cooped up in a bakery; what future does that hold? Taking on the Beitang Family’s business is the way out! That’s how you can truly hold your head high!” Ling Mei’s tears kept falling. ”I listened to him, sending you overseas to study what you wanted, but I was wrong, profoundly wrong!”

”You also carry Beitang blood within you, so why should you receive unequal treatment? You’re the eldest grandson of the Beitang Family!”

Beitang Che sighed lightly, ”Mom, Yao is more unfortunate than any of us. At least I have you and Dad’s love, but Yao? He hasn’t been happy since he was a child, withdrawn and reticent, and lost his mother’s love at eighteen. Compared to him, I’m lucky! I don’t want to take over the Beitang Family’s business because I’m not interested. Haven’t you seen? Yao is an outstanding entrepreneur. In just three months since he took over, he propelled the previously stagnant Beitang Group into the world’s top fifty renowned enterprises!”

Beitang Che continuously praised Beitang Yao’s efforts and achievements over the years.

”Now that we have to leave here, you’re still speaking for that person? Don’t you realize that once we leave, we’ll have nothing!” Ling Mei said resentfully.

Beitang Che held Ling Mei’s hand and said softly, ”With my skills as an international pastry chef, I can surely provide a happy life for you and Dad! Trust me, leaving here might not be a bad thing; consider it as a way to make amends and seek redemption for what you did back then.”
