Chapter 122: Chapter 122: How Exactly Are You Going to Thank Me, Sugar Disciple?!

[Ding!]

[Technique Comprehension Used.]

[Target: Blood Sovereign Scripture (Mythical Rank)]

[Use 3 months on the Cultivation Technique Blood Sovereign Scripture?]

[Yes / No.]

’Yes.’ He confirmed as he allocated three more months to comprehending it.

[Technique Comprehension Used: 3 Months]

[Technique Comprehension Remaining: 3 Months]

[Beginning technique comprehension...]

The comprehension flared brighter, and this time the information went deeper than diagrams and basic knowledge.

’Of course the soul section’s the hard one, it’s always the soul section.’ He thought.

Some of the sections that had eluded him previously, like the parts dealing with the blood mana’s relationship to the soul, and how it worked to strengthen his soul, body and mana core in tandem folded in on themselves as he managed to hold the shape of the idea steady in his head.

He kept working through it anyway, patient and methodical while refusing to rush toward cultivation before he actually understood what he was about to build his mortal foundation with, as according to Carmilla this was one of the most, if not the most important steps if he wanted to ascend someday.

’No point climbing back up the mountain if I trip on a random step because I skimmed the instructions.’

He closed his eyes in the middle of the large bed as more and more knowledge and information on the Blood Sovereign Scripture flowed into his mind.

The crimson inscriptions burned brighter behind his closed eyes, and his expression settled into something focused and still as once again his amount of comprehension ran out.

’Even 3 more months wasn’t enough to master it?’

’But I am close to fully mastering it.’ He thought as from the knowledge he had only a bit was missing.

But that small bit was also the difference between someone who had just used it, sure they knew all the sections and could do it but they didn’t understand it like someone who had mastered it fully, someone who had understood the small things that made up the technique and could if given the chance male it their own.

And before he it he threw more of his technique comprehension at it.

’All right, let’s do this properly, no point hoarding and keeping the comprehension unused, when a more mastered technique can do me better.’ He thought as once again comprehension on the technique flowed through his mind.

’So this is how it actually works.’

The scripture taught him to draw in ambient mana and funnel it through specialized pathways, refining it as it moved until it emerged as Sanguine Mana, energy carrying the literal property of blood, naturally compatible with the Crimson Sovereign Bloodline running through his veins and other blood based bloodlines and talents.

’No more forcing aspect less mana to behave like blood mana if I’m cultivating mana that already knows what it’s supposed to be.’ He thought.

The advantages stacked up in his head like dominoes.

His blood based abilities would cost noticeably less mana, no conversion tax between what he gathered and what his abilities actually needed. Or if he chose he could use the same amount, which would then make his attacks land harder.

His control over blood constructs would also tighten, since Sanguine Mana responded to his will more naturally than normal mana ever would.

That alone would’ve been worth switching techniques.

But the scripture kept going.

It grew his mana core alongside his cultivation, expanding its capacity rank by rank way more than the Mana Devouring Art ever could, and from what he gathered even by Mythical Rank standards it was in a league of its own.

’Hmm, so even compared to other more normal Mythical Rank Cultivation Techniques this is awesome.’

’Well it was made by a Goddess.’ He shrugged.

’My old technique, the Mana Devouring Art was built to help me accumulate power at fast speeds, sure it was better than what most cultivators used and helped both the body and core, but it was still limited by its rank.’

’This one’s built to turn the whole process into a single blood based cycle, body, mana, soul, all moving together instead of three separate projects I had to manage myself.’

The circulation pathways didn’t stop at his mana core, either. They ran through muscle, bone, organ, everything, every circulation cycle reinforcing his physical body along with his cultivation.

Faster recovery from exertion, sturdier resistance to the strain his own abilities put on him, a body that got stronger from the same process that made his mana sharper and even his soul stronger.

Sanguine Mana cultivation strengthens my body and my body supports better and more cultivation.

Then, buried deeper than he expected, a section on soul refinement, slower, more careful than the rest, synchronizing his soul with his growing power instead of leaving it to trail behind.

Body, mana, soul. All three, together.

’This is why Carmilla kept saying it suited me. Not because I happen to have a strong bloodline but because the whole thing is based on blood at its source and what am I if not a blood based being.’

’And even though every rank up would cost more Mana, the payoff scaled right alongside the cost.’ He thought as it would make him stronger compared to those of his Cultivation Rank, and by doing this it would lay down a foundation that would be hundreds of times better than what he would have gotten before.’

’A higher cost that gave a higher ceiling, exactly what I want.’

Somewhere around the one hour mark in the waking world, the last stream of information settled, and the knowledge of the technique flowing into him finally ended.

His eyes opened and for a few seconds he just sat there, then he exhaled a long and slow breath.

”That really is an extraordinary technique, just the difference between Epic and Mythical Techniques would have been enough, but it even has its own type of mana.”

He didn’t know every secret buried in the scripture just yet, but he understood it well enough to cultivate with confidence instead of fumbling through it half blind.

’Hehe, others would consider me a master of it, but I’m sure there’s more I can learn from it, it was made by Carmilla herself.’ He smiled.

’Carmilla didn’t just hand me a powerful technique, she handed me the one that was always going to fit me in someday or how.’ He thought.

’This technique really is more profound than my previous one.’

’And if this I just a Mythical Rank technique, what about Divine ones?’ He thought.

’Thanks master.’ He told Carmilla across their mental channel.

’Satisfied?’ Carmilla asked, still floating near Evelisse, arms crossed and looking entirely too pleased with herself.

’Insufferably so, just don’t let it go to your head.’

’Too late disciple, it’s already there, and it’s very comfortable.’

’So how are going to thank me, my sugar disciple?’ Sge asked teasingly.

’I already did, by signing the contract.’ He said smirking and leaving her speechless.

He then thought briefly of the girls downstairs, Aurelia buried in her War Sovereign Scripture, Seraphina tracing the Dreamheart Scripture’s cover and Evelisse, learning hers with Carmilla’s help.

’I wonder how long it’ll take them, if even mine took so long with the system’s technique comprehension.’

’But they need to build their own understanding first, I’ll step in if they actually get stuck, not before.’ He decided as that was for their best, but it wasn’t like he ahs a way of helping them, unless he also used the steam to learn their techniques then teach them.

’But that would likely take years worth of comprehension, and i barely have a months left.’ He then opened the interface again.

[Cultivation Progression: 36 Months Available.]

[Technique Comprehension: 1 Month Remaining.]

His eyes brightened slightly at the first one.

’Thirty six months, that’s a lot to work with.’

He considered burning all of it at once and dismissed the idea almost as fast as it arrived.

’No, let’s do twelve first and check my condition after, see how my body and core handle the mana load before I commit the rest, besides who knows how much time this would take now, maybe a full day even?’

’Having some blood to accelerate my cultivation would have been nice, too bad all my of my stored blood got used up during the bloodline evolution.’ He thought, but decided that gaining some strength came first.

’Using the progression with the higher mana affinity should yield greater returns.’ He thought then selected twelve months.

[ Stored Cultivation Progression: 36 Months.]

[Use 12 Months of Cultivation Progression?]

[ Yes / No.]

But before proceeding, the room came first.

He climbed off the bed and dug through his storage ring, pulling out the blood mana crystals Carmilla had given him alongside the ones he’d personally looted from the Ruins which was a fortune’s worth, ranging from C Rank up through A.

’Using them now is best as they already carry the blood aspect and normal mana crystals would need refining first, these skip the step entirely.’ He thought.

He arranged the crystals in a loose ring around the bed, then pulled out several array plates and set them along the bed’s perimeter before activating them

A faint barrier shimmered into place over the master bed.

’This should be more than enough to keep the mana fluctuations from announcing themselves to the entire city, hopefully.’ He thought, though the one that would really keep everything at bay would be the array around the estate.

’Expecting visitors?’ Carmilla asked suddenly as she felt the changes from the room.

’Expecting the opposite, last thing I need is some someone scrying and picking up a mana spike coming from Blackthorn and then sending goons here to attack me and my beautiful wives.’

’I don’t know what can happen, but its better to be safe than sorry.’

’Looks like my disciple is finally using his head, but are you even sure you would make such a commotion, you are just cultivating.’ She laughed.

’Yes, I’m just cultivating.’ He smiled and grinned.

He checked the formation once more, satisfied, and settled back onto the bed, he then opened the interface one last time.

[Use 12 Months of Cultivation Progression?]

[ Yes / No.]

He confirmed.

[Ding!]

[12 Months of Cultivation Progression Used.]

[Beginning accelerated cultivation using the Blood Sovereign Scripture.]

’Lets see how far I will go now.’ He thought grinning.
