Cultivation: Starting from a Mortal Bone

”It’s getting late, let’s hurry back.”

The Empress Dowager sensed the presence of those two foxes trailing behind her like shadows.

It was only because she felt they had no ill intent that she refrained from stopping and questioning them.

However, she was in no mood to continue wandering.

She must take Qin Yu back to the Imperial Palace quickly!

Hmph, I refuse to believe that these two foxes would dare enter the palace to snatch someone away.

Seeing the Empress Dowager no longer interested in strolling around, Qin Yu, too, prepared to return home with his wives.

”He’s leaving!”

Watching Qin Yu and his entourage head towards the palace, Tu Jiujiu became somewhat anxious.

This was the first human to pique her interest because of his scent, whether due to the tribulation or that unique aroma, the little fox was filled with curiosity.

”I can see that.”

The Beauty Clan Leader frowned slightly.

She also wanted to stop Qin Yu and get some answers.

But the Empress Dowager beside him clearly noticed her; several times she barely got closer, the Empress Dowager would shoot her a warning look.

The vigilance on her face plainly showed she did not want her to come near.

Facing such an attitude from the Empress Dowager, in order to avoid conflict, the Beauty Clan Leader had to restrain herself from approaching impulsively.

However...

Who knows how long it will be before that human who survived the tribulation comes out again?

Should I just go back then?

Or should I communicate with the Great Yan Empress, and have her talk to that tribulation-surviving human a bit?

But, as the Clan Leader of the Qingqiu Race, she did not wish to communicate with any human, including the Great Yan Empress!

Just like when wandering with the little fox, she never interacted with anyone.

Some beliefs in her heart were already deeply ingrained and could not be changed overnight.

The reason for wanting to approach Qin Yu was purely because of the Celestial Tribulation.

This was the first person she had seen successfully overcome a Celestial Tribulation, for the future of her race, she forced herself to have a slight desire to inquire.

Under the watch of the Beauty Clan Leader and her companion, Qin Yu’s group disappeared at the gates of the Imperial Palace.

”Hmph, wise of you not to step further.”

After passing through the palace gates and sensing that the two foxes stayed outside, the Empress Dowager felt a bit more at ease.

What piqued her curiosity was what exactly Qin Yu did during his outing with the Emperor that attracted the long-hidden Qingqiu Race.

Apart from being adept at healing, it seemed Qin Yu had no other talents?

Some aspects she inadvertently observed, though he did show some talents...

But surely, it couldn’t be for those reasons that the two little foxes came looking?!

By nightfall.

Qin Yu had just left Jade Flower Palace when the Sound Transmission Stone suddenly rang.

Looking at the Communication Stone symbolizing his status as a Guest Minister at the Carefree Pavilion, he suddenly recalled the charming evening before leaving the Imperial Capital.

To speak honestly, he hadn’t visited the Carefree Pavilion to see the talented and beautiful Chief Bai in a long time.

Perhaps it was time to be candid with Bai Yaoyin.

They can’t keep suppressing their feelings every time they reached the end.

”Qin Keqing, a special envoy has sent a batch of delicious mushrooms today, do you have time?”

Having just connected to the Sound Transmission Stone, there was a slight pause before Bai Yaoyin’s sweet voice came through.

Qin Yu tossed back, ”Wait for me,” then tidied himself up before striding out of the palace.

”Qin Yu?!”

The Empress Dowager abruptly stood up.

Where was Qin Yu planning to go?

She had protected him all afternoon, and now he was eager to see those two foxes just after being apart?

How could he be so reckless!

”Where are you going?”

Just as the Empress Dowager was impatiently about to chase after him for a word of caution, a calm voice suddenly came.

”I-I was just going to find Qin Yu.”

The previously fiery Empress Dowager immediately halted, her words stuttering.

”Hmph, come in and sleep with me.”

”I refuse!”

”Hmm?!”

”Alright, stop being so fierce!”

Seeing the Empress Dowager’s aggrieved face, the Empress couldn’t help but frown internally.

She truly feared that if she let her guard down, this dumb auspicious symbol would just offer herself.

Whatever Qin Yu does, that’s his choice.

The Empress was already aware of the two foxes appearing in the Imperial Capital; they showed no ill will and hadn’t attempted to enter the palace, so the Empress didn’t bother dealing with them much.

After all, it was no secret that the Qingqiu Race, after a Celestial Tribulation, would come out to collect the remaining celestial might.

However, the Qingqiu Race’s usual whereabouts were so secretive that even she had never discovered them.

Now their appearance in the Imperial Capital was likely due to the Celestial Tribulation. As long as they didn’t go too far, the Empress did not wish to antagonize this reclusive clan either.

As for whether Qin Yu would be lured away, she wasn’t worried at all.

The allure of the Qingqiu Race was indeed unmatched, but wasn’t the Flower Fairy equally unparalleled in beauty?

And the result?

The Empress realized that rather than worrying about those matters, it was better to keep a closer eye on the Empress Dowager, to prevent her from being devoured until not even bones were left.

...

”Huh? That human, why is he coming out?”

Under the moonlight, the Beauty Clan Leader suddenly glanced towards the direction of the Imperial Palace.

That familiar aura surfaced again, and this time, it seemed he was alone.

Could this be some sort of plot?

The Beauty Clan Leader frowned tightly; though she wished to step forward and ask the human how he overcame the Celestial Tribulation, but when considering actually making contact, the persistent teachings of the former clan leader flashed in her mind.

The Human Race is an extremely dangerous race!
