Cultivation: Starting from a Mortal Bone

”Your Majesty, could I examine it a bit?”

Qin Yu asked tentatively.

To cure an illness, one must first understand its symptoms in order to treat it properly.

We can’t simply resort to injections and medication every time we fall ill!

Moreover, this is the Empress; he wouldn’t dare be so presumptuous!

”You may.”

The Empress responded without even lifting her captivating eyes.

Qin Yu took a deep breath, his outstretched hand trembling slightly. Just an inch away from the fair skin as flawless as jade, his hand paused.

”Buzz!...”

The Nascent Soul on the Lotus Platform released a beam of light, as a pure Nascent Soul Power quietly emanated.

The Empress’ body trembled slightly; under this radiance, she felt a bit more refreshed, alleviating some of her previous fatigue.

”Huh?”

The Empress Dowager, who was just lost in wild thoughts, let out a surprised sound, her gaze unconsciously falling on Qin Yu’s hand.

What was this fluctuation?

It gave her a feeling she rather enjoyed!

”Qin Yu, can you truly cure Her Majesty’s hidden ailment?”

The Empress Dowager seemed drawn to it, her body unconsciously leaning closer to Qin Yu’s hand.

If it weren’t for the Empress being present and fearing reprimand, she would have wanted to hold Qin Yu’s hand to savor the comforting aura.

Nascent Soul Power can connect a cultivator’s body to the surrounding world; the Empress Dowager instinctively wanted to be closer, as such contact brought her nearer to heaven and earth.

Qin Yu did not answer directly, unsure how to respond.

He hadn’t been able to enter the Empress’s body...

Internally.

Of course, this refers to perception.

It was as if there was an invisible force isolating the Empress’s perception from the outside; Qin Yu couldn’t even enter the Empress’s meridians, let alone find any marks of a great path injury.

Without identifying the ailment, how could it be treated?

”I’m afraid I am powerless to help with Your Majesty’s hidden illness.”

After a long while, Qin Yu withdrew his hand with reluctance.

”What? Even you can’t do anything?”

As the Nascent Soul Power dissipated, a hint of disappointment flashed across the Empress Dowager’s beautiful eyes; her expression hardened upon hearing Qin Yu’s words.

That tyrant, with her incessant scolding, even Qin Yu was helpless against her.

These sisters...

Really making her worried sick.

After Little Ling’Er had some improvement with potential for a cure, now the Empress faces issues.

”What should we do?”

The Empress Dowager lay prone on the bed, hand propping her chin, looking worried.

She was entirely oblivious to how enticing her posture was.

Feeling that comforting aura vanish, the Empress furrowed her brows slightly; upon opening her eyes, she found Qin Yu’s respect had increased a bit.

Seeing the Empress Dowager in such a manner, the Empress felt a headache coming on.

Should she scold the Empress Dowager for lacking etiquette, or blame her grandeur, that even the well-tailored phoenix robe seemed ready to take flight on her?

The Empress Dowager suddenly felt a chill down her back, a crisis of impending scolding surfaced in her heart.

”So fierce.”

The Empress Dowager reacted belatedly, reluctantly sitting up, pouting silently.

Why was she being stared at so fiercely? Was she going to be eaten?

Humph!

Qin Yu wasn’t an outsider; why act so distant!

The Empress Dowager didn’t mind Qin Yu sneaking glances at her.

She even considered initiating communication with Qin Yu; if it allowed her to enjoy that comforting aura for longer when the Empress wasn’t around, she’d permit him to look at her freely.

What’s the burden anyway? What does it matter?

After all, Qin Yu is one of us.

”Do you truly have no other methods?”

The Empress Dowager looked at Qin Yu eagerly, not quite ready to concede.

In her eyes, Qin Yu was exceedingly adept in healing.

She was powerless against injuries of Little Yan Yu and Little Ling’Er, yet Qin Yu had healed them.

Why was it different with the Empress?

Upon seeing the Empress Dowager retract her allure, Qin Yu dared to meet her stunning visage.

Methods...

There are some.

The issue is that the Empress’s status is too noble.

Some methods are simply unsuitable!

”Qin Yu, be honest, are you holding back something?”

Seeing Qin Yu’s complex expression, the Empress Dowager furrowed her brows.

Though the tyrant is fierce, she’s genuinely good; if Qin Yu could accomplish it...

”No nonsense.”

The Empress, unable to tolerate any longer, intervened with a stern shout, fearing the charm might end up cuddling Qin Yu’s arm to plead.

”Oh~”

The previously bullish Empress Dowager instantly deflated somewhat.

”Look again for us.”

The Empress sighed helplessly, extending her arm, pausing, and then said, ”Take your time.”

”Take my time?”

Qin Yu was taken aback, his gaze unintentionally followed the enchanting curve, glimpsing at the straight, slender legs beneath sheer attire...

Suddenly, Qin Yu felt an oppressive atmosphere in the sleeping chamber, a strong and suppressive sensation welled within.

Qin Yu promptly snapped back; the Empress surely meant to have him examine seriously, not gawk heedlessly!

”Let me try again.”

Qin Yu once more extended his hand, preparing for another perception attempt.

”Get closer.”

The Empress Dowager was dissatisfied and directly pressed Qin Yu’s palm against the Empress’s wrist.

Seriously, what’s the point of keeping such a distance when you can’t even see the problem?

It’s just a checkup, the Empress isn’t some kind of monster.

Well, when she gets fierce, she’s a bit like one.

”Hiss...”

Qin Yu froze, his body suddenly stiffening.

At the gentle touch, it was as if a current ran through his whole body, and the warmth from beneath his palm stirred a ripple in his heart.

The Empress seemed oblivious, her beautiful eyes still closed.

In fact, despite the Empress’s calm nature, a flash of inexplicable emotion did cross her mind at the moment of contact.

However, this faint emotion couldn’t sway the Empress.

After coming to his senses, Qin Yu did not withdraw his hand but channeled his Nascent Soul Power.

The slight frown on the Empress’s delicate and dignified face gently relaxed, seemingly adding a touch of ease to her expression.

This feeling is truly comfortable!

Even though Xiang Rui is a bit dumb, this action pleased her.

The Empress Dowager dared not lay prostrate on the bed like before, so she could only crouch pitifully by the bedside, eyes fixed on Qin Yu’s hand. That comfortable feeling made her swallow hard.

She really wanted to get close to that magical aura, but if she did, she’d surely be rebuked.

...

Imperial Capital.

The two foxes, large and small, had arrived at the Great Yan Imperial Capital. Tu Jiujiu’s eyes scanned around, her lively and beautiful eyes sparkling, full of curiosity about everything around.

”Wow, beauty... Sister, look quickly, those clothes are so pretty!”

”So fragrant, Sister, I want to eat that and that too...”

”Hehe, is this the Human Race’s city? It looks like so much fun.”

Tu Jiujiu frequently exclaimed, her eyes shining as she scanned the dazzling commercial streets.

As for calling her ’sister,’ that was at the request of the Beauty Clan Leader, saying it’s to avoid attracting human attention.

The Beauty Clan Leader’s demeanor was evidently much calmer; she wasn’t a little fox. As the clan leader, she once ventured out of the ancestral land to gather divine might, driven by curiosity, to observe some human cities before.

”Sister, what are you thinking about?”

Tu Jiujiu had wandered for most of the day before she realized that the Beauty Clan Leader hadn’t uttered a word.

”You haven’t forgotten the reason we came here, have you?”

The Beauty Clan Leader glanced at the little fox helplessly.

”Hmm? What’s the reason?”

With a string of spirit fruit candy in hand, Tu Jiujiu took one bite after another, thoroughly enjoying herself.

Even though the Beauty Clan Leader didn’t buy her pretty things and even delicious things weren’t plentiful, even a stick of spirit fruit, just letting her look at them, brought immense satisfaction.

”We’re here to find someone undergoing tribulation.”

The Beauty Clan Leader glared at the little fox, perhaps reminding Tu Jiujiu or herself.

”Oh, right!”

Tu Jiujiu nodded perfunctorily, her gaze still wandering, clearly not listening.

”Tu Jiujiu!”

The Beauty Clan Leader was angry.

This little girl, already entranced by these things?

”Huh?”

Tu Jiujiu snapped back to reality, looking dazed at the Beauty Clan Leader.

”That person’s aura is in the Great Yan Imperial Palace.”

The Beauty Clan Leader said with exasperation.

”So, shall we go in to find him?”

Tu Jiujiu’s large eyes shone brightly.

The Imperial Palace!

It’s said that only those very powerful people of the Human Race can enter there.

It should be even more fun there, right?

”Nonsense, how can one trespass into the Imperial Palace?”

The Beauty Clan Leader glared at the little fox, this guy really understands nothing.

If she and the little fox entered the Great Yan Immortal Realm Imperial Capital, the Empress would surely notice, but as long as there’s no malice, the Empress might ignore them.

However, breaking into the Imperial Palace without the Empress’s consent would be a serious offense.

Possibly, the famed Great Yan Empress, ranked among the top three in power, might intervene personally.

The Beauty Clan Leader didn’t want to make things that tense.

”Then... can we just wait here?”

Tu Jiujiu thought for a moment and asked.

”Wait?”

The Beauty Clan Leader quickly rejected it: ”No, if he meditates for years, shall we wait that long?”

This isn’t the clan land; there are ultimately unsafe factors.

She can wait.

But the little fox cannot!

”Okay.”

Tu Jiujiu suddenly felt the Beauty Clan Leader was so wonderful, glowing all over.

Play here for a few years?

Just thinking about it made her happy!

Tu Jiujiu even hoped that person undergoing tribulation would always stay at that place, letting them wait longer.

”???”

The Beauty Clan Leader fell silent.

This little girl, she can even misunderstand this?

”At most, one month after a month, whether he comes out or not, you’re coming back with me.”

Looking at Tu Jiujiu, who looked thrilled, the Beauty Clan Leader finally softened.

”Mm, okay, I’ll listen to Sister.”

Tu Jiujiu stuffed the remaining two spirit fruits into her mouth, cheeks puffed adorably, pointing at the place selling candy figures in distance: ”Sister, I also want to eat that.”

”That’s sugar, eat too much, and you’ll get fat!”

”But I haven’t eaten it, how can I eat too much?”
