Cultivation: Starting from a Mortal Bone

”Understood!”

Yan Yu began to describe in detail the fluctuations he sensed when he first met Liu Zixiao and the series of changes that followed.

Yan Zhi had no reason to doubt her perception.

If such matters were mistaken, Yan Yu wouldn’t have become a Flame Guard.

Yan Zhi’s expression turned serious.

The Empress had already mentioned Qin Yu to her and instructed her to pay special attention.

But wasn’t he a cultivator with high enlightenment of the Star Prison Array? Why were such things happening around him?!

What reason could explain what happened to Liu Zixiao?

”I understand. I will report this to Her Majesty!”

Yan Zhi also relayed some instructions to her.

Finally, she said earnestly, ”Yan Yu, when the master and disciple are... propagating, you don’t need to observe so closely.”

Goodness, even such knowledge was described.

If she ever meets this Qin Yu fellow, she’ll definitely teach him a lesson!

”But...”

Hearing Yan Yu say ”but”, Yan Zhi felt a headache coming on.

This child is still the same, rigid and inflexible.

”Observe carefully, but the focus must remain on Qin Yu!”

”Yes.”

...

The distance to the Cyan Mountain Sect was still far.

Qin Yu felt the benefits of having a Guardian, but at the same time, he also felt the significant inconvenience.

Otherwise, on the flying ship, more achievements could have been accomplished.

Perhaps it was also because upon returning to the Immortal Sect, such opportunities wouldn’t be as plentiful, Liu Zixiao cooperated thoroughly with this unruly disciple.

During the day.

Liu Zixiao continued writing and drawing, while Qin Yu took the opportunity to ponder over cultivation techniques.

He was now using Spiritual Power to control essence, energy, and spirit, channeling them into the dantian for the Golden Core to absorb.

Though a clumsy method, it was, however, effective.

The speed of his cultivation growth was probably similar to when he practiced the Sensing Technique in Lin Xian City.

This was still based on the strength of his Spiritual Power.

Otherwise, the effects might not even match those of a Mortal Grade cultivation technique.

The return journey was faster than the outward one.

Since the route had been revealed to Yan Yu, with her controlling the flying ship, the speed increased several-fold and should take just over a month to return to the Cyan Mountain Sect.

One night.

Yan Yu was watching with great interest. Suddenly, as if sensing something, she stood up directly.

She looked at her arm, where her smooth skin had slight goosebumps.

”It’s a Celestial Tribulation!”

Her eyes flashed with a peculiar gleam.

The flying ship came to a halt.

Soon, Qin Yu poked his head out from the cabin and asked, ”Yan Yu, what’s going on?”

He spread his senses outward but didn’t detect any danger. It just seemed like this area felt somewhat familiar.

Isn’t this where he broke through the Golden Core?

”It’s nothing.”

Yan Yu only mentioned taking a rest, and Qin Yu didn’t question her.

After all, throughout the journey, he hadn’t seen this Guardian rest.

Once Qin Yu retracted himself, the flying ship resumed its gentle, rhythmic sway.

Yan Yu’s attention was focused on this area.

Much time had passed, but this area still faintly lingered with traces of an unsettling aura.

That aura, faintly blending into every inch of the surrounding air.

Yan Yu mused, had they not happened to pass through this area, she might not have noticed anything by merely passing by.

She had visited the Land of Tribulation.

Even after more than a thousand years, the place still retained a dense aura of destruction.

But here, it was entirely different.

This was not sensed by Yan Yu, but rather a kind of instinctive reaction.

She left the flying ship, hovering in mid-air, with the entire area within her sensing range.

On the ground.

After nearly a year, only piles of bones remained, scattered everywhere.

There were no signs of escape, indicating that the Celestial Tribulation appeared very abruptly.

Perhaps it was precisely because this area still faintly lingered with remnants of the Celestial Tribulation that no creatures dared intrude.

Therefore, based on her observations, Yan Yu could reconstruct the scene from back then.

She noticed that some bird and beast remains were fragmented, evidently the sudden catastrophe causing them to fall from the sky; while others seemed curled up, starved to death without daring to move.

The fact that these remaining bones had no injuries or defects was the strongest evidence.

Her senses extended underground, uncovering more skeletal remains of rodents and insects that supported this point.

This was indeed a Land of Tribulation!

After thoroughly surveying the entire area, Yan Yu took out a token.

”Your Majesty, I’ve found the Land of Tribulation!”

This was her mission for visiting the Cyan Mist Hall, naturally she had to contact the Empress directly.

”Speak!”

The Empress’s voice emanated from the token.

Subsequently, Yan Yu meticulously described the situation of the area.

Inside the Imperial Palace.

The Empress remained in her chambers, though this time a young girl was beside her, resembling a porcelain doll, exuding a pure lively spirit free from worldliness.

The girl’s appearance was exquisitely beautiful, her porcelain-like skin seemingly gathered the softest radiance of the heavens, embodying Immortal Spirit Qi.

She wore a delicate pink palace dress, further accentuating her petite and graceful figure. Her exposed legs were slender and straight, flowing lines reflecting the most delicate strokes, adding to her unsullied purity and liveliness.

However, her face occasionally showed hints of pain, her complexion turning pale, devoid of blood.

If one looked closely, beneath the skin, a faint intertwining of bluish-red colors could be discerned, constantly clashing and pulling at each other.

Perhaps this was the reason for her sickly appearance.

As the Empress listened to Yan Yu’s report, her gaze remained fixed on the porcelain-doll-like girl, revealing deep-seated worry within her eyes.

”That area wasn’t damaged?”

Though the Empress did not open her mouth, the voice came forth from the token.

”Yes.”

It was indeed strange.

Even if the one undergoing the tribulation perished, logically they should have met their demise under the Celestial Tribulation, annihilated entirely by the formidable thunderous force. How could the area remain undamaged?!

This event truly abounds with peculiarity.

The Celestial Tribulation appeared very abruptly and dispersed quickly as well.

Ancient texts documented those who couldn’t withstand even a single thunderbolt, but even erratic as soul-split and body obliterated, traces should persist.

That is Celestial Punishment!

Once it descends, it should be thunderous and unstoppable, leaving the entire area ravaged, a wasteland difficult to recover from.

”How did you discover the Land of Tribulation?”

Wasn’t Yan Yu supposed to be acting as a Guardian for that junior cultivator named Qin Yu?

”It was on the way back to the Cyan Mountain Sect.”

Yan Yu answered truthfully.

”Oh, was it a necessary route?”
