The Urban Medical Martial Immortal

Chapter 879: Chapter 874: The Fatty Shi Xiaoshou Who Practices Alchemy with Herbs

It’s a pity, the once flourishing flying Cloud City existed only in Ancient Times.

Now, flying Cloud City is nothing more than a small town built on the remnants of ruins.

Unlike Ancient Medicine Town, flying Cloud City is truly isolated from the outside world, retaining the lifestyle of the ancient Cultivation World.

There are no modern communication tools, no modern transportation, and no developed roads leading to the city.

Only a small path along the canyons of the Ten Thousand Mountains connects to it.

Next to flying Cloud Small City, there’s a flying Cloud Peak, where the flying Cloud Inn is located.

All of this was part of the conversation between Nie Xingchen and Lin Tian on their way.

The canyon path leading to flying Cloud City is extremely rugged.

However,

For the two of them, it was as if they were walking on flat ground.

In less than an hour,

Lin Tian followed Nie Xingchen out of the canyon path, and an open field appeared before their eyes.

A somewhat dilapidated small city came into view.

The city stretched along a few low hills, divided into three run-down districts.

In the distance, one could see nothing but old houses and small buildings.

Everything retained a remote and ancient appearance.

”This is flying Cloud City!”

Walking onto the Ancient Road connecting to the city, Nie Xingchen pointed at the small city and explained, then glanced into the distance, ”Beyond flying Cloud City lies flying Cloud Peak, where the flying Cloud Inn is located. It’s where our flying Cloud’s first loose Cultivator, Senior Zhong Xiangdi, resides! Around flying Cloud Peak is flying Cloud Square, which gathers most of the loose Cultivators of our Yelang Cultivation Domain...”

”Take me directly to see Fuyao Wanderer!”

Lin Tian glanced around and then nodded slightly, speaking.

Although he was curious about the flying Cloud Inn, obtaining the Soul Nourishing Grass was the priority now.

”Please follow me, Senior!”

Nie Xingchen quickly led the way in front. When they reached the edge of the small Ancient City, he led Lin Tian along a small path to the other side of the city, heading towards a hill with several mud houses below, while explaining to Lin Tian: ”This is where Senior Fuyao lives, it’s a small village, but quite close to the city. It’s said that Senior Fuyao has lived here since a long time ago. He even planted many herbs behind the hill, so he prefers to stay here rather than move into the city!”

Lin Tian listened as he walked, while his gaze fell onto the hill not far ahead.

From that hilltop, Lin Tian could faintly sense the whirling of Spiritual Energy.

Though not very dense, compared to other places, it was indeed a treasured land.

”What cultivation level does Fuyao Wanderer have?”

Reaching the entrance of the small village, Lin Tian asked.

”Senior, Fuyao Senior is about the same as you, also a Foundation Establishment Cultivator! Specifically, I wouldn’t know!”

Nie Xingchen pondered slightly before responding.

However,

Upon reaching a fenced vegetable garden beside the village, Lin Tian couldn’t help but stop in his tracks.

In that fenced garden, on a patch of grass, a chubby little butt was sticking up, belonging to a boy around sixteen years old.

At the moment, this boy was squatting on the ground, blowing on a broken pill furnace that was propped between two stones.

And between those stones, firewood was burning, the fire flickering unsteadily.

The flame was not strong, causing the boy to appear quite anxious, his eyes wide open, blowing continuously.

From the worn and chipped pill furnace, a strange smell that was somewhat medicinal wafted out.

”That’s Fatty Shi, trying to concoct a Grass Pill again!”

Seeing Lin Tian’s curious expression, Nie Xingchen couldn’t help but smile and explain: ”The rundown mud house next to it is his home! This little guy, he’s had a tough life. His parents went missing harvesting herbs in the mountains when he was young, and he’s lived with his grandmother ever since. But the little guy has been fascinated with alchemy from a young age and is extremely diligent and hardworking. His grandmother even asked Senior Fuyao to take him as a disciple once. Unfortunately, his talent is very average, and Senior Fuyao refused, but this little guy’s perseverance is astonishing. In the absence of herbs, he uses wild grass as ingredients, found a broken pill furnace, and practiced tirelessly...”

”Later, Fuyao Wanderer, seeing his plight and how he possesses an uncommon perseverance, allowed him to listen to his lectures on flying Cloud Peak weekly.”

”Oh... Senior Fuyao lectures on flying Cloud Peak once a week, sharing his knowledge with younger alchemy enthusiasts!”

Hearing this, Lin Tian developed a certain fondness for Fuyao Wanderer.

Such selflessly and freely sharing of alchemy knowledge and experience is quite rare.

Meanwhile,

As Lin Tian observed the earnest and determined expression of the little boy, coupled with his impoverished background, it seemed to reflect the image of his own past life.

”Ah... Master Nie, why have you come? Are you looking for Grandpa Fuyao?”

At this time, Fatty Shi noticed the appearance of Lin Tian and Nie Xingchen, and excitedly got up and ran over, his small eyes embedded in his chubby face spinning around, assessing Lin Tian, while saying: ”Who is he? A junior you, Master Nie, brought here? Are you planning to introduce him to Grandpa Fuyao as a disciple or let him join flying Cloud Peak? Could you please put in a good word for me too?”

Hearing the boy’s words, Nie Xingchen couldn’t help but smile wryly and did not explain much, shaking his head: ”We are here for an urgent matter with your Grandpa Fuyao!”

”Then you came at a bad time! Grandpa Fuyao left for flying Cloud Peak a long time ago because a very important senior arrived. At noon, he’s going to give a lecture with that senior!”

Fatty Shi shook his chubby head, jiggling his fat face, ”Master Nie, are you heading to flying Cloud Peak? Let’s go together! I intended to finish making the Grass Pill this morning and then go, but since you’re here, let’s go together! But to see Grandpa Fuyao, it might be until noon! It’s said that guest is extremely, extremely distinguished! Even Master Zhong Xiangdi will personally welcome them!”

It was evident that Fatty Shi was quite familiar with Nie Xingchen, showing no timidity that a small boy should have towards a formidable Cultivator.

”Wait until noon?”

Nie Xingchen frowned, looking a bit troubled, and turned to Lin Tian, ”Senior, what do you think...”

”I know you still need to return to Burial Village, and can’t wait that long, so you should head back first!”

Lin Tian immediately understood, smiling, and after glancing at Fatty Shi, continued, ”Isn’t this little fatty familiar with Fuyao Wanderer? I’ll go with him! I just need to get something from Fuyao and then leave, it won’t take long!”

”Then Xingchen will take his leave!”

Nie Xingchen was filled with gratitude and admiration for Lin Tian. After giving a slight bow, he left with cupped fists.

”Hey, are you a young master from a major power? Even Master Nie is so respectful to you!”

Fatty Shi blinked his eyes, assessing Lin Tian again, full of curiosity, ”I’m called Shi Xiaoshou, what’s your name?”
