The Urban Medical Martial Immortal

Chapter 698: Chapter 694: Dragon Creek Turmoil (First Update!)

Cheen Chaoya drove the car along Riverside Street in Cold Water River City, heading south.

It wasn’t long before the car left the urban area and entered onto the rural second-level highway.

Although Cold Water River City was intertwined with rivers, it happened to be on the edge of the Star Dipping Wilderness, surrounded by a continuous chain of desolate mountains and steep ridges.

The rural second-level highways almost always extended along the barren hills and ridges of the plains.

From a distance, they appeared like dragons and snakes coiled up, meandering towards the end of the sky.

At this moment, twilight had fallen.

The wilderness in the summer still held a residue of heat that hadn’t yet dissipated.

However, the dimming sunset cast a warm glow across the sky, leaving behind an endless desolation and icy coldness in the vast heavens.

Lin Tian, separated by the car window, gazed at the lingering sun in the sky, his thoughts ascending.

A very long time ago, during a certain period of the lengthy years, his master DuanMuu Yue, clad in her Guanghan Glaze Dress, had stepped through the air in such desolate sunset, disappearing into the sky like an Immortal!

He had never seen her again since then.

Not until this moment!

“Master…”

Lin Tian gently murmured and then lifted his head to look at Cheen Chaoya, who was driving ahead, and asked, “Is Dragon Creek Mountain far?”

“Senior, Dragon Creek Mountain is not far, just about ten kilometers or so from the urban district!”

While driving, Cheen Chaoya turned back respectfully for a glance, and replied, “The road conditions here aren’t very good though; it’s quite winding so driving there will take some time! But we’ll be there soon…”

Hearing this, Lin Tian nodded and casually inquired, “Where is Nie Xingchen now?”

“Senior Nie, to ensure everything at Dragon Creek Mountain is foolproof, went ahead to scout the area!”

Cheen Chaoya looked up toward the direction of the south, hastily responding, “But rest assured, senior, the terrain of Dragon Creek Mountain is complex, with forests, swamps, canyons, and streams. It’s said to be uninhabited and rarely trodden by foot! However, it’s rumored that there used to be Jiao-snakes brewing in the streams, which are monsters that are half Jiao and half snake. They later absorbed the Heaven and Earth Qi of the surrounding mountain valleys and streams, and drew the essence of the Void’s sun and moon, eventually transforming into a True Dragon and soaring away…”

“Jiao-snakes brewing in the streams?”

Listening to Cheen Chaoya earnestly relate the matter of the Jiao-snake turning into a dragon, Lin Tian couldn’t help but laugh and said, “Where did you hear such rumors?”

“Cough cough… Senior, please consider it just a story! I happened to hear it inadvertently from other Fellow Daoists!”

Cheen Chaoya’s face flushed with embarrassment, and he chuckled, “However, according to a few Fellow Daoists, the rumor originated from ancient books, purported to be about a dragon transformation event in the Ancient Cultivation World. Whether it’s true or not is unknown! Later on, I actually came here with those guys to investigate but found nothing… In fact, over the years, who knows how many people have come to look into it, only to find nothing. Eventually, as the story spread, the place came to be known as Dragon Creek Mountain, and as no treasures were found, fewer people came, especially since there really was nothing to discover…”

“You have other Fellow Daoists?”

Lin Tian expressed his surprise, then touched his chin and pondered for a while before continuing, “Who else knows about your discovery of the treasure, other than Nie Xingchen?”

“Don’t worry, senior, only Nie Senior and I are aware of the specifics! I dispatched people a half month ago to guard the place, and my subordinates only follow my orders without knowing the details!”

Cheen Chaoya nodded with conviction, saying, “As for those Fellow Daoists… heh, they are all Loose Cultivators with Cultivation about the same as mine, hardly worth mentioning in your eyes, senior…”

Loose Cultivators…

Lin Tian nodded slightly, then fell silent.

Now on the way to Dragon Creek Mountain, as long as he could acquire the Earthfire Stone, nothing else mattered, an increase in Cultivation would be enough.

However.

The vehicle turned around a desolate mountain corner when suddenly there was a hissing sound, and Cheen Chaoya slammed on the brakes.

“Senior Nie!”

Cheen Chaoya let out an alarmed shout, hurriedly got out of the car, and rushed toward the staggering figure that appeared from a small hollow on the side of the barren mountain.

Lin Tian, who was sitting in the back of the vehicle, had his Divine Sense envelop the area in an instant.

Upon seeing the figure clearly, he raised his eyebrows, stood up, and followed Cheen Chaoya out of the car.

That staggering figure was none other than Nie Xingchen!

At this moment, Nie Xingchen was in tattered clothes, covered in blood, his hair utterly disheveled, one hand dangling, with a large gash across his chest from which blood was flowing freely.

He staggered forward, his body wobbling as if he might fall at any moment.

Cheen Chaoya briskly stepped forward, supporting Nie Xingchen, and anxiously said, “Senior Nie, what happened?”

“Strong enemies have come!”

Nie Xingchen, seriously injured and supported by Cheen Chaoya, finally caught his breath.

“Did someone else discover the treasure of Dragon Creek Mountain?”

Lin Tian walked up to them, took out a silver needle, and pricked Nie Xingchen a few times to stop the bleeding while frowning.

“Thank you, Senior!”

Seeing Lin Tian appear, Nie Xingchen finally breathed a sigh of relief. Knowing Lin Tian’s medical skills were remarkable and that he wouldn’t die, he then let out a bitter smile and said, “It’s unlikely that our news has leaked. It seems others have made their discovery. I had just hit the road when I encountered a group. They only asked for directions, but when they learned I was heading to Dragon Creek Mountain, their leader attacked me… He’s too powerful! Definitely at least at the Foundation Establishment Cultivation! Senior, look at this…”

His face filled with concern as he spoke.

He had witnessed Lin Tian’s abilities before. Although Demon Pill Baao Zhiyuan was at the Qi Refining Ninth Level, nearly equal in power to someone at the Foundation Establishment Stage, he couldn’t withstand a single move from Lin Tian.

But, in his eyes, Lin Tian was too young and likely hadn’t reached the Foundation Establishment yet; compared to a real Foundation Establishment Cultivator, there was a gap.

“Sit down, I’ll heal you!”

Lin Tian had Nie Xingchen sit right there and started treating him with silver needles while asking, “Do you know anything about those people? Who else knows about Dragon Creek Mountain?”

“Senior… alas, it’s all out now! Aside from that powerful group, many Loose Cultivators have appeared!”

Nie Xingchen gave a wry smile and apologetically said, “We originally thought we had everything under control, but it turns out we messed up. Please give us another chance!”

“Don’t be so harsh on yourself!”

Lin Tian continued applying needles while shaking his head, “But so many Loose Cultivators nearby?”

“A lot! But most are at the Qi Refining first two Levels; occasionally, there might be one or two on par with Senior Nie in Cultivation!”

Cheen Chaoya chimed in from the side, “Usually these people might be some civil servant, or someone in a suit and tie, or perhaps a farmer… In any case, most have poor Talent, insufficient Cultivation Resources, and choose a low-key life. Hey, they are not like me, stirring up a storm in the mundane world! Ever since I received Senior Nie’s teachings, I got to know many of the Loose Cultivators in Xiangjiang Province; I’m quite familiar with most… Now that the news of Dragon Creek Mountain’s treasure has leaked, they might have come to join in on the excitement, hoping to fish in troubled waters… After all, any treasure that can enhance one’s Cultivation is far too tempting for Loose Cultivators!”

After Cheen Chaoya finished speaking, Lin Tian had already stopped needling; Nie Xingchen’s injuries were nearly completely healed.

“Senior’s medical expertise is truly astonishing; I am completely in awe! It’s practically the work of an Immortal…”

Cheen Chaoya couldn’t help but exclaim, seeing how quickly Nie Xingchen’s injuries healed.

Nie Xingchen was also astounded, rising to bow respectfully several times, full of gratitude, then he sighed, “With the news of the treasure of Dragon Creek Mountain leaked, so many people have rushed here, a gathering of forces… especially that group of strong ones…”

“Hehe, no worries, it doesn’t matter who they are, whether they are nobodies or not, we just need to get the item!”

Lin Tian chuckled, unconcerned, and smiled, “Let’s continue on our way; as long as they haven’t taken the item, we’ll be fine!”
