One-Eyed Monster

Stan Sol casually picked up a stick. After a fierce battle, Moonflow Stream, while not completely devastated, was no longer tidy. The white snow on the ground had long lost its beauty. Leaves and twigs from withered trees were strewn everywhere, remnants of the previous battle...

Stan Sol initially wanted to offer more details, but when he raised the battered twig, he realized the current circumstances allowed no time for lengthy explanations...

He could only keep his writing simple and concise, and pray Igor would quickly understand what he wrote.

After all, the situation didn’t allow for elaborate prose...

As soon as Stan Sol wrote Dastan’s name on the ground, Igor jumped up.

”Dastan, are you asking about Dastan?”

Stan Sol was shocked. He didn’t understand how Igor knew about Dastan. When Stan had fought against those from the Alchemy Workshop, Igor wasn’t around. Why would the mere mention of Dastan’s name excite him so much?

What Stan Sol didn’t know was that Igor had already spent considerable time with the Great Mentor and others. Back then, inside the Stone House at Moonflow Stream, he had learned all about the feud between Kuyi Tulan and the Mountain Monsters of Guru Mountain.

These grievances gave Igor a general understanding of the situation’s origins and development. He also came to appreciate the various elders of Guru Mountain.

So when Stan Sol wrote Dastan’s name, Igor jumped up...

While Stan Sol was still puzzled about how Igor knew about Dastan, Igor started firing questions at him like a machine gun.

”What do you want to ask about Elder Dastan? The elders said Elder Dastan fell while guarding Dawn Peak, and it seems the Alchemy Workshop was responsible! Haha, the Alchemy Workshop is right across from us now; we can just ask them. But why do you want to inquire about Elder Dastan? Do you also deeply respect Dastan’s contributions as one of the Honorable Seven Knights?”

Stan Sol was surprised to find that Dastan’s title as one of the Honorable Seven Knights was so renowned, earning him admiration even from youngsters like Igor. At this thought, he recalled the sacrifices Dastan had made for his own clan, and his eyes couldn’t help but moisten.

However, Igor’s questions still needed answers. He couldn’t let this enthusiastic young friend feel slighted.

He earnestly answered Igor’s query: shaking his head, he used the broken twig to write on the ground, ’He is my kinsman.’

”Ah? He’s your family!” Igor exclaimed, even more astonished. ”No wonder you’re so capable! So you’re family to one of the Honorable Seven Knights!”

Family. Hearing this word, Stan Sol felt a sense of wonder. He had previously only considered Dastan a kinsman, never thinking of him in terms of ’family.’

Now that he considered it, the term ’family’ indeed felt more intimate...

”So that’s how it is! Of course, you’d be concerned about your family. I understand how you feel; no wonder you’re so anxious.”

Igor deeply empathized with Stan Sol’s earlier mood. Now, he felt he absolutely had to do something for him.

Family matters take precedence over everything else! What did anything else matter? He now felt that even if it meant steeling himself, he had to help Stan Sol find out what happened to Dastan!

”Alright, I understand! You just wait here quietly. I’ll definitely find out about Dastan’s situation for you!”

Stan Sol’s emotions were complex. He suddenly realized Igor was a remarkable person, able to quickly grasp others’ feelings and eager to help. He had originally planned to write a lot on the ground, but so far, he had only written Dastan’s name and that Dastan was his kinsman, yet Igor had already fully understood the entire situation.

”Don’t worry! From now on, I’ll be your voice. I’ll communicate with them for you. To put it simply, I’m your representative!” Igor chattered on, unstoppable.

Stan Sol nodded firmly. He had immense trust in Igor, though he couldn’t quite explain why. Perhaps it was Igor’s dependability shown when they fought side-by-side that reassured him. Perhaps it was Igor’s infectious enthusiasm that comforted him, or perhaps some other special force guided him to believe in Igor...

If anyone else had said those words, Stan Sol probably wouldn’t have paid them any mind. He was inherently a cautious and complex person. How could others possibly understand him, let alone speak for him?

Only Igor would dare to say such things.

Moreover, Stan Sol felt no aversion to Igor’s words... On the contrary, he was quite curious how Igor would interrupt the current chaotic scene and make everyone listen to him.

The Alchemy Workshop and the Mountain Monsters of Guru Mountain were still maintaining a veneer of civility, but the volume of their mutual taunts gradually rose. Moonflow Stream, already disorderly, was escalating into a cacophony...

Igor rubbed his palms together, then wrung his fingers. He was contemplating how to make everyone listen to him.

Normally, he might have approached people one by one to persuade them, asked others for help, or directly asked Hustace, who was currently cowering to the side, if there was a good way to capture everyone’s attention.

But things were different now. After spending some time with Kadi, Igor had picked up many new skills.

Of course, these skills were primarily in the realm of troublemaking.

How could he grab everyone’s attention? No need to ask for help; just do it.

And how to do it? Cause a disturbance, of course!

If the other party shouts, then you shout louder, or create an even bigger commotion.

That way, everyone would surely stop what they were doing and focus on you...

This was precisely Igor’s plan, one he had learned from Kadi.

So, how would he create this commotion? Igor once again took a stone from his satchel—a colorful Artificial Rain Crystal Stone he and Hustace had made. This stone was a container, one for storing Lightning. When the Lightning couldn’t be released, it would coil around this stone vessel in brilliant, mesmerizing colors. Releasing this Lightning wasn’t overly difficult, though it wasn’t exactly simple either.

This stone contained the Lightning they had collected while fighting the patchwork monsters...

Now, it was time for it to be useful again!

Igor tossed the stone into the air, then turned to Stan Sol with a grin. ”Before that, could you do me a favor and hit this stone with your fire?”
