One-Eyed Monster

The moon gradually rose over the sea, casting a silver glow over the previously dark and murky waters. This radiance spread in all directions, following the vast and undulating waves.

It seemed the seawater suddenly began to sing, much like the waters of Moonflow Stream. Because of this song, the waters under the silver moonlight grew somewhat calmer...

Igor watched this transformation silently. It was only then that he truly began to believe in the power of the moon. No matter how brilliantly Kadi had described it, Igor had found it somewhat fantastical, but seeing it in person made it more understandable.

Although he still couldn’t comprehend the reasons behind it, witnessing the raging black waves gradually calm stirred a sense of awe within him.

It was somewhat frustrating. Kadi was seeing the ocean for the first time, yet he seemed to understand it better than Igor, who had seen it on several occasions.

This frustration was fleeting, though. After all, their current task wasn’t to marvel at the moon’s magic, but to disrupt the rhythm of this dark ocean as much as possible.

”The moon is taking effect!” Igor couldn’t contain his excitement and blurted out.

”This is only the beginning; the real show is yet to come,” Kadi said. Thanks to the Spirit Vision Sharing via the Ant Connection Spell, Kadi could see what Igor saw, effectively making him a full participant in their plan.

Unexpectedly, Kadi had joined their scheme so easily. Sometimes, things weren’t as complicated as imagined; it was just that people tended to overcomplicate them during execution.

Now, Kadi was like a commander, Igor a messenger, and Stan Sol a dedicated executor.

The moon, now their moon. With such a grand stage set, anything was possible.

He himself hadn’t imagined they could conjure a moon, Igor thought, just as they couldn’t comprehend how their opponent could control a vast, dark ocean.

The world of imagination is limitless. The only thing limiting this infinite imagination is cognition itself. If Igor were merely a complacent, stagnant, and short-sighted youth, he would never know what the outside world was like. In that case, his personal sky would be limited to what was directly above his head, and nothing would ever change. But neither he nor Kadi were such people; they were infinitely curious about new things and relentless in their pursuit of exploration. Their minds constantly forged boundless connections with the external world—perhaps envisioning vastness, perhaps grandeur. In any case, their minds were not rigid; they wouldn’t even imagine all the leaves on a single tree to be identical. Their thinking was divergent, their imagination abundant.

Igor freely let his imagination wander. Compared to Kadi, he was still somewhat conservative; it couldn’t be helped, as past experiences often limited his creativity, imposing constraints.

”The stage is grander now, Igor!” Kadi said excitedly. ”We need to match its scale! He seemed confident about what would happen next.

”We are the moon now,” Kadi teased. ”Why should we be so conventional?”

We are the moon. When these words reached Stan Sol’s ears, he seemed to instantly comprehend their meaning.

”Igor, let’s make things even more intense!” Stan Sol exclaimed, growing excited. Now he was truly eager to go all out.

”Alright!” Igor finally understood Kadi’s meaning. They had been too passive before. Now that the stage had broadened, they had ample opportunity to start turning the tables.

Kadi was proving to be a competent commander.

Stan Sol instantly thought of his Incomplete Moon. Since the waxing and waning of the moon could affect the emotions of so many Living Beings, why not make these phases even more intense?

At once, the moon began to change. Its full, disk-like shape started to be gradually devoured, slowly morphing into a half-moon, then a crescent, then a sickle, then a mere hook...

The shifting moon unconsciously stirred the Living Beings in the dark ocean, and suddenly, all sorts of fish began leaping continuously from the water.

The scene was spectacular. The sight of countless fish leaping from the sea was truly magnificent, especially enhanced by the moonlight. Water droplets from their jumps were instantly plated with layers of silver brilliance, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene!

But this frenzied leaping of the fish was not what the sea desired. The waves constantly tried to slap them back down. However, the fish, clearly influenced by the moon’s phases, were emotionally agitated and relentlessly challenged the sea’s limits. Wave after wave of assault failed to stop them from continuously jumping out of the water.

”This feeling is amazing!” Kadi couldn’t help exclaiming. ”Look at this ocean; it’s getting a little irritated.”

Indeed, as Kadi said, the waves, sometimes large, sometimes small, seemed exasperated. But whether they roared or thrashed, they couldn’t affect what was happening. Though many small fish were slapped back down, another batch—large and small—would always emerge, an endless stream...

Stan Sol felt the sea’s irritation, but he didn’t let it make him complacent. From these incessantly leaping fish, he sensed the formidable strength of the controller behind this vast ocean. Each fish corresponded to a submissive person. This ocean contained so many fish, indicating that its controller had once conquered countless individuals, including many powerful ones. The mere thought sent a shiver down his spine; if it hadn’t been for Igor, they might very well be among those fish, leaping joyfully in this sea...

Igor’s arrival had now placed them in opposition to this controller. More astonishingly, Kadi’s involvement had allowed them to shift from a passive to a proactive stance.

Kadi truly was an amazing fellow, Igor mused. Who else could have conceived of using the moon like this!

”The scene is really beautiful,” Kadi giggled. ”But this is just the beginning. If our disruption is only at this level, it’s far too elementary.”

Kadi’s words left Igor in shock. He could hardly believe this was merely the beginning of Kadi’s plan for disruption... Igor even felt that the current level of disruption was already enough to throw their opponent into disarray.

This truly confirmed their earlier suspicions: Kadi wasn’t just a troublemaker; he was a master disruptor!
