One-Eyed Monster

Before Estev could even marvel at the number of guardians helping him protect the mountain, he was unnerved by Stan Sol’s warning.

Explosion was a primal method. It could cause wide-ranging damage, but the severity of the harm might not be guaranteed. If necessary, lying flat on the ground could prevent being caught in the impact.

Jemma glanced at Estev and the others, nodding. It seemed they were well-prepared, having identified the preliminary work for the explosion in such a short time.

Setting an explosion required an Alchemist. This primitive task could only be accomplished with the cooperation of several professions, especially between Alchemists and Wizards. It was unbelievable that these two traditionally adversarial professions were engaging in such an explosive collaboration.

Upon hearing Jemma’s summons, Simon hurried back, and Senior Yuga ceased his rambling conversation with Bigas. They needed to help Jemma complete the explosion.

They knew that dealing with the immediate threat of the Dark Wizard was their priority. Thus, they dropped their suspicions about the Alchemy Workshop, abandoned the questioning of the unknown invaders, and dedicated themselves to preparing for the explosion.

Bigas, after all, was wise from extensive experience. Observing the situation, she recognized the trio intended to cause a primitive explosion. This method is indeed effective against the plague, she thought. However, her haughty demeanor kept her from admitting it. Moreover, she had an agreement with Kuyi Tulan of the Alchemy Workshop to avoid these creatures and the Wizards of the Alchemy Workshop as much as possible. If she hadn’t encountered elders from the Wizard Alliance, she wouldn’t have bothered to say a single word on this mountain. She had previously expended considerable energy against the Dark Wizard’s split body and was already somewhat fatigued. As a Soul Guardian, she was powerful. Her main concern was ensuring the final seal wasn’t broken, so she didn’t bother with minor details.

The only thing on this peak that interested her was magic. For a Wizard, mastering more magic was always beneficial. It brought them closer to the secrets of nature and offered more hope of achieving the grand ideal of completely mastering them...

Bigas found the method of countering Dark Arts particularly refreshing and intriguing. She even wondered how she herself would deal with this plague magic.

Presumably, I would freeze the opponent regardless of the consequences, she mused. She had always been this headstrong and had suffered for her recklessness many times, yet she never seemed to learn her lesson. Fortunately, her setbacks had only occurred during internal spars within the Wizard Alliance. Externally, she had never been defeated. This was one reason for her arrogance.

Although Bigas was powerful, she was not omnipotent. She had failed to secure an absolute advantage previously. If it weren’t for the support of Estev and others, she might not have been able to handle the split body.

Just like now; although she knew the Dark Wizard opposite her was a split body, she still had no idea how to defeat it and break the current stalemate.

Fortunately, elders from the Wizard Alliance were present. Although Senior Yuga was reluctant to be involved with the Wizard Alliance again, he was, nonetheless, one of its members. His actions would represent the Wizard Alliance’s standing in this world.

This was Bigas’s way of thinking. She was arrogant, holding everyone in contempt except for the Wizard Alliance.

Great Witch Biggs was the complete opposite of Bigas. Timid and cowardly, she was clueless about the unfolding situation. She could only entrust everything to the Wind Elemental, watching events unfold like a wooden puppet.

The explosion required an Alchemist to provide the necessary materials. Simon, as an Alchemist, was adept at this. He wrote down the relevant Alchemy Equation beside Jemma, then stood with his hands behind his back, waiting for Wizard Yuga to complete his preparations.

The explosion also required a Wizard to provide the necessary heat. A Wizard’s Spirit Sensing Skills involved temperature control, so this wasn’t too difficult for a Wizard like Yuga.

Once everything was ready and Yuga had the temperature controlled, Jemma glanced at Yuga and Simon, then began directing them to place the explosives in various locations.

The Alchemists from the Alchemy Workshop also discerned the intentions of these ’creatures’ and began to retreat, clearing a space for the explosion.

Jemma, ever mindful of his knightly duties, knew he wasn’t the type of knight renowned for bravery in battle. He wasn’t a Fighter or Hunter skilled in numerous combat arts. He was merely a Scholar who had become a knight primarily due to his outstanding abilities in reconnaissance and strategy.

Under Jemma’s meticulous arrangements, all preparations for the explosion were set in place.

Estev was extremely anxious. He felt as if these three creatures were gambling, betting everything on the explosion’s ability to counteract the plague.

He didn’t know Jemma well, so he was somewhat skeptical about this solution.

Jemma never undertook tasks he wasn’t confident about. If Jemma decided to do something, its success rate was at least eighty-nine percent.

”Get ready, Yuga! Simon, fall back!” Jemma began to direct the detonation.

The Witch Spirit possessing Hustace’s body dared not speak at this moment; it was utterly dumbfounded. Bigas had allowed it to come out this time, and it was finally broadening its horizons. It realized there were so many strange things outside the Wizard Alliance. Watching the three ’creatures’ prepare for the explosion had left it completely shocked.

Of all the people on the mountain, only Qi Liu and Bunan had no idea what was about to happen. Qi Liu’s mouth was still frostbitten from when Bigas had used Ice Seal on it earlier. As for Bunan, apart from lamenting his tragic fate, he knew nothing. The two of them currently stood alone like fools in a corner of Grey Eagle Peak, bewildered and utterly clueless.

Everyone was waiting for the outcome of the explosion.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! With a wave of Jemma’s hand, Wizard Yuga initiated the signal for the temperature change. This was his magic, and he could naturally switch it with practiced skill. As he manipulated the temperature, explosions erupted from every corner, blooming everywhere with resounding blasts.

Bigas could distinctly feel a peculiar aura of death around the Dark Wizard dissipating, and the familiar scent that had permeated the entire mountaintop gradually vanished.

”Did it work?” Estev looked up at Stan Sol. Stan Sol gave a slight smile, indicating that yes, it had.

The shockwaves from the explosions didn’t affect anyone; everyone was unharmed, not even a scratch.

The previously arrogant Dark Wizard had clearly changed significantly. The one who could skillfully wield the Obsidian Staff was now noticeably sluggish.

”Now, you can deliver the fatal blow and make him revert to his original form,” Jemma said to everyone after taking a deep breath.
