One-Eyed Monster

The stone was the sealed door of the entire mountain. If this stone was shattered, the secrets hidden within this mountain would be exposed.

Now, this door was under attack, and what’s more, it was by a self-detonating Soul Puppet.

This was the place Estev needed to protect. He had to step forward to stop the Soul Puppet’s self-explosion.

But how? He was not a Wizard; he had no ideas. All he could do was gather his power. He felt that he might not be able to stop the Soul Puppet from exploding, but he could prevent it from exploding near the stone.

”Go!” Without hesitation, Estev released the smoke he had charged. The tangible smoke, loaded with his Spirit Power, immediately started moving like a pet.

”What is this?” Joela, who had seen this thing during his apprenticeship, was taken aback, uncertain if it was the same thing.

”Is this the Demon Smoke?” Pedro could not help but exclaim.

Estev’s smoke suddenly morphed into a humanoid figure. This white giant extended its arms, halting the charging Soul Puppet. As more smoke accumulated, the giant’s form grew larger.

However, the Soul Puppet, not a living entity, wasn’t slowed by its inability to break through. It wasn’t affected by emotions; this was its advantage, one that none of the others present could match.

”Demon Smoke is not an easy weapon to deal with,” Joela said softly, his anxiety deepening. They still didn’t know what this ”door” Kuyi Tulan had mentioned was. But they weren’t fools—they could see what Estev and Stan Sol were protecting.

Even Qi Liu could sense the peculiarity of the giant stone, let alone these old foxes of the Alchemy Workshop.

But at that moment, that runaway youth wasn’t their only concern, was it?

The self-detonating Soul Puppet posed a threat to everyone on the mountain. The four from the Alchemy Workshop weren’t sure if they could fully control it later. Although the Soul Puppet currently seemed to share their goal, no one could guarantee its subsequent actions.

”If we don’t figure out a way, we’ll all be buried here!” Qi Liu shouted. It seemed this born Politician had heard something. He spoke with unexpected audacity, his voice carrying a commanding tone.

Who was his command for? The two unknown Adventurers with Class? The members of the Alchemy Workshop in the Golden Seats? The Great Witch standing nearby? Or the apprehensive Bunan?

Although Qi Liu himself wasn’t sure who his command was for, he had successfully voiced a future possibility. If everyone continued to fight separately as they were, then after the Soul Puppet exploded, only their remains would be left. They would become the walking dead; they would become walking corpses...

”He, is, not, wrong,” Stan Sol said, turning around. He had experienced too many partings through life and death and had a natural sensitivity to imminent danger.

”To-ge-ther, stop, the, self-explosion!” Four-eyed Sol yelled, putting pressure on the Alchemy Workshop. His Sharkmon couldn’t attack the Soul Puppet; it could only battle with the Flame War Pet.

He was still reluctant. If the Soul Puppet were to fully self-explode, his Flame War Pet wouldn’t hold up, just like Estev’s smoke.

The Soul Puppet’s explosive power couldn’t destroy the Flame War Pet. However, the aura of death and putrid flesh produced after the explosion would affect it. As a pure entity, the Flame War Pet couldn’t have excessive contact with filthy, dark substances. Pure flames, upon such contact, would turn into tainted Evil Flames, and the Flame War Pet itself would then choose to perish...

They had put forth their most precious assets; they never imagined the Dark Wizard would be so ruthless.

To open this door, the Black Crow had certainly racked his brains...

”Senior Milo!” Joela seemed to be asking for Milo’s opinion.

”Stop the self-explosion!” At this moment, Milo’s aversion to the Soul Puppet returned. His emotional impulsiveness had already dictated his actions. Had it been Kuyi Tulan, he would have stood by, as Kuyi Tulan would never risk stopping the Soul Puppet’s explosion. He would have chosen a safer method, using an Alchemy Array for defense.

But Milo was not Kuyi Tulan; he had his own emotional side.

”Master, our mission!” Pedro loudly reminded Milo. If they temporarily escaped to another location and formed an Alchemy Array, they could still avoid the threat from the Soul Puppet’s self-explosion!

”One thing at a time. Right now, we are dealing with the Undead that should be buried deep in the ground!” Milo declared, forming a Copper Sword with one hand. A yellow light immediately shone out brightly.

”Brad, help me go Berserk!” Milo began to give orders. ”Joela, give me heavy armor! Pedro, build up the Spirit Defense!”

The calm Milo was incredibly composed. Even at such a time, he knew exactly what to instruct others to do. This was the mark of a leader who could resolutely guide everyone forward when the team hesitated.

”But the door!” Pedro still wanted to remind Milo about that.

”That’s between us and them. It has nothing to do with this evil creature.”

Estev nodded at Milo. Although they would soon be enemies, Milo’s performance at this moment was truly awe-inspiring. He felt honored to have such an opponent.

”Bind!” With a flick of Estev’s finger, his smoke instantly transformed into a giant python. Without a second thought, it coiled around the glowing-red Soul Puppet.

”Although we are not Wizards and don’t know how to disable the Soul Puppet, as Adventurers with Class, we know how to face difficulties!” Milo declared loudly, waving the Copper Sword in his hand.

Milo’s decisiveness was clear to everyone present. His determination in facing the Dark Arts quickly spread to the others. Even Qi Liu and Bunan, who felt they could do nothing, couldn’t help but clench their fists.

You are merely from a corner of Hell. You probably don’t fear the baptism of Hell’s fire, but the flames of this world are enough to make you writhe, Stan Sol silently chanted the Mantra in his heart. He knew what he had to do now was simply to augment the Alchemist’s Copper Sword with the power of flame.

Milo’s decisiveness influenced everyone. They set aside their resentments and began to cooperate.

Joela concentrated his Spirit Power, quickly writing an Alchemy Equation to prepare the hard Diamond Armor for Senior Milo. Brad’s Berserk potion was ready, awaiting Milo’s signal. Pedro’s task was to build the defense; his concentrated Spirit Power was already sufficient to write the Alchemy Equation for the Tower of Defense. The Great Witch, Biggs, was also earnestly focusing, trying to understand how she could contribute her strength...

Estev’s smoke had solidly trapped the Soul Puppet. The next step was up to the Alchemist.

”Ends of the earth, edge of the sea, I exchange my blood. Sword of Spirit Slayer, Helm of Spirit Protection.” Milo mumbled the Alchemy Equation, intelligible only to himself, and began to gather his Spirit Power.

Gradually, a shining suit of armor adorned Milo’s body, and the Copper Sword in his hand also transformed. Its cumbersome appearance vanished, replaced by a delicate Bronze Sword.

Sword of Spirit Slayer! Helm of Spirit Protection!

Milo, armored and sword in hand, walked step by step towards the bound Soul Puppet...
