Chapter 203: Chapter 198: Dharma Seal Series, [Balance], [Order], [Anti-Magic]

It was a flash of inspiration, just like the one he’d had when he comprehended [Dragon Flame Dance]!

Jon opened the spell creation interface. His gaze lingered for a moment on the faintly glowing selection prompt, then he unhesitatingly used his last chance to comprehend a ”Balance”-type skill.

[Expend 5000 experience points to recall the true meaning of ”Balance”?]

”Yes!”

The instant the thought formed, an indescribable sense of clarity flooded his mind, as if a thin veil covering complex spell structures and energy theories had been quietly lifted.

This time, ”Balance” was no longer merely the synergy between cost and output. His knowledge of magic—of the flow, conflict, annihilation, and coexistence of energy—was granted a new perspective, one closer to its very essence.

It wasn’t just that balance could be achieved between energies, nor was it just between the enemy and the self...

’If... I also incorporate my concept of ”Order”... can I be the one to define the very meaning of ”Balance”?’

Immersed in this state of enlightenment, Jon subconsciously opened the knowledge selection screen for spell creation. Countless spell models and energy structures, representing his recent studies, floated within like stars. Among them, the spells taught by Claudio, such as the [Stasis Seal] and [Formless Wall], were the brightest and their structures the clearest.

The common thread among these spells was that they weren’t for direct attack or defense. Instead, they influenced reality by constructing specific energy domains, in essence imposing a kind of ”rule” upon the enemy.

And of these, the one Jon believed best fit his developing concept was the [Stasis Seal].

It was a spell categorized as a lower tier of ”Space” magic. Its manifestation was extremely similar to [Luminous Sealing]—both used power to affect a target’s state and force it into stasis—but their fundamental principles were completely different.

[Luminous Sealing] uses the power of order to stabilize a target’s ”existence,” locking it within a static, unchanging rule.

The core principle of the [Stasis Seal], however, was to create a field of energy inertia to slow the target’s movements and energy reactions.

’If I integrate the rule of ”Balance” into the energy field, can I then use my own will to decide how the enemy’s state should transform?’

Once this idea emerged, it grew uncontrollably. His inspiration was like a lit ember, fanned into a roaring blaze by the catalyst of his enlightenment on ”Balance”!

Based on his own understanding of magic, Jon’s mind raced as he used his own will to alter the already highly refined spell structure of the [Stasis Seal].

’Balance and order on the energy level aren’t about simple averaging or suppression, but about the dynamic construction of rules!’

He designed the Dharma Seal’s energy field to be a sophisticated ”regulator.”

It no longer indiscriminately slowed all energy, but instead adjusted the peaks of energy fluctuations within the target area—whether it was the Frenzy of physical Power, a surging elemental tide, or an overloaded Spirit Impact.

The moment it detected a state of ”imbalance,” where one aspect far surpassed others, the Dharma Seal would instantly activate. It would release a wave of opposing energy for precise neutralization and suppression, forcibly dragging the target back to a ”balance point.”

This wasn’t an absolute prohibition, but a way to render the target’s ”greatest strength” no longer fatal, forcing it back into a ”normal” range.

[Based on your profound comprehension of the true meaning of ’Balance’ and your deep understanding of Dharma Seal-type Magic, you have successfully created an original spell!]

[Ding! You have successfully created a Skill. Level: Rare]

[Please name the Skill you have created.]

”Since it suppresses the enemy’s advantages and renders them mediocre, I’ll call this Dharma Seal the [Balance Seal]!”

With no time to examine its Attributes, Jon greedily clung to this wave of inspiration and continued his spell creation.

Two more spells, similar to yet distinct from the [Balance Seal], were born in quick succession!

[Order Seal]

This was a direct application of the power of ”Order,” its inspiration drawn from his previous experience sealing the ”Embrace of Blight.”

Jon set the Dharma Seal’s rule to be the absolute repulsion and suppression of ”Negative Energy” and ”Chaotic Evil Power.”

When it identified Negative Energy representing ”disorder” and ”entropy”—such as the deathly aura of the Undead, Abyssal Corruption, or the taint of an Evil God—the Dharma Seal would unleash a powerful dual effect of ”Purification” and ”Imprisonment” to forcibly bind, dispel, or even annihilate these sources of chaos.

[Anti-Magic Seal]

This Dharma Seal was not limited to the caster; its energy structure was designed to be more flexible and adaptive, a manifestation of ”Balance” and ”Order” combined in a defensive application.

Jon realized that the essence of resisting energy attacks was, likewise, to establish a barrier of rules.

It could be cast on oneself or an allied target, forming an Energy Resistance Field highly capable of withstanding ”external, invasive energy.”

This energy field wasn’t a traditional magic shield that met force with force. Instead, it used the rule of ”Balance” to buffer and the rule of ”Order” to redirect and vent the overloaded energy fluctuations, greatly weakening their destructive power.

[Balance Seal LV.1 (Rare): Constructs an energy-balancing domain for a single target or small area. Detects and forcibly suppresses the target’s most prominent Attribute in its current state, forcing it back to a balanced state. Duration, suppression strength, and range increase with level. Minimum Cost: 80 Magic Power Value.]

[Order Seal LV.1 (Rare): Constructs a powerful field of order that inflicts significant damage and a strong suppressive effect on all ”disordered” entities within range—such as Negative Energy creatures, Chaotic Evil Power, and Abyssal Corruption—while continuously purifying the negative energy they emanate. Minimum Cost: 120 Magic Power Value.]

[Anti-Magic Seal LV.1 (Rare): Applies an Energy Resistance Field to a target (self or ally), significantly reducing incoming damage from Magic, elemental, and special energy attacks. The reduction percentage and duration increase with level. Minimum Cost: 60 Magic Power Value.]

[Original Spells [Balance Seal], [Order Seal], and [Anti-Magic Seal] have been recorded in the Spellbook. [Advanced Trial: Creation] progress updated: 3/3.]

[Please confirm completion of ”Advanced Trial: Creation”?]

The three Rare Level original spells covered the domains of control, counter, and defense, perfectly matching Jon’s vision for applying ”Balance” and ”Order” at the energy level. They also completely fulfilled the requirements for the advanced trial.

Even the strongest of them, the Balance Seal, would be a powerful counter against someone like him, who had invested his points into extreme Attributes.

’Doesn’t this count as a way to rein myself in?’

The odd thought vanished as quickly as it came, and Jon selected confirm.

”Yes!”
