My Talent Skill Mutated

Reaching the bedside, the Dean looked at the unconscious Zhuang Qi on the bed. His eyes swept over a crimson stain on the sheets before turning to Chen Yu.

”You rascal,” the Dean said with a sigh, ”her body is too fragile for you to be rough with her like this.”

Chen Yu: ”?”

Seeing the Dean’s expression, Chen Yu glanced at the unconscious Zhuang Qi, then at the bloodstain on the sheets. Paired with the Dean’s words, everything clicked into place.

”No, Dean, it’s not what you think. I’m talking about a special situation that’s occurred inside her.”

’A special situation?’

The Dean looked at the unconscious Zhuang Qi, then back at Chen Yu. ”What special situation?”

”The seal deep within her spirit,” Chen Yu said.

’Hmm?’

At these words, the Dean’s expression turned grim.

Chen Yu continued, ”The seal in her spirit was just triggered. In my judgment, it must have been placed there by a very powerful being.”

”How was it triggered?” the Dean asked, looking at him in astonishment.

”I just tested her with my Spiritual Power,” Chen Yu answered.

As he spoke, he reached out, pointed a finger at Zhuang Qi’s forehead, and sent his Spiritual Power in once more.

And yet...

This time, there was no reaction.

His Spiritual Power entered Zhuang Qi’s body, but nothing out of the ordinary happened.

After three seconds, Chen Yu withdrew his hand. The Dean looked at the motionless Zhuang Qi, then back at Chen Yu, and patted his shoulder. ”Young man, you’re full of vigor. I understand. There’s no need to make up excuses.”

Chen Yu: ”...”

Seeing the Dean’s ”sincere” gaze, Chen Yu’s eye twitched. He immediately tried to channel his Spiritual Power again.

But it was still no use.

The wisp of black energy entwined deep in Zhuang Qi’s soul didn’t react as it had before.

The air fell silent.

Chen Yu fell silent.

’What’s going on?’

’There was such a strong reaction when my Spiritual Power triggered it just now. Why isn’t it working anymore?’

Chen Yu’s brow furrowed.

”Alright, let’s just say you needed a release. I won’t tell anyone about this, so don’t worry,” the Dean said, patting his shoulder with a meaningful look.

Chen Yu: ”...”

’What does he mean, he won’t tell anyone?’

’I didn’t do a damn thing!’

”Dean, something unexpected really did happen just now,” Chen Yu tried to explain again.

The Dean nodded. ”Yes, I understand. It was an ’accident.’”

”...”

Looking at the Dean’s expression, Chen Yu felt he’d been wronged more than any man in history.

’If I’d actually done it, that would be one thing. But the key is, I did nothing at all!’

’Even if it looks suspicious, it was really just an accident!’

’Where has all the trust between people gone?!!’

”Alright, she’s unconscious now, so let’s leave for the time being. Once things are cleared up, if you want to take responsibility for her, I can help you file the request,” the Dean said, looking at Chen Yu.

Chen Yu’s eye twitched, but at this point, he didn’t feel like explaining anymore.

’The more I try to explain, the worse it sounds.’

’So I might as well not explain at all.’

After following the Dean out of the underground chamber and leaving the Black Tower, the Dean looked at him and said, ”If you want to make a move against the Alien Race, I’ll send you the files later. But remember one thing: your safety comes first. And don’t underestimate the Heterodox Sect. Don’t get tripped up by a minor obstacle.”

”Yes, I’ll be careful.” Chen Yu nodded. As he spoke, he glanced back at the Black Tower.

He really wanted to know who had planted the seal that had allowed Zhuang Qi to be possessed during their exchange just now.

’A True God?’

’But why would a True God plant such a seal on Zhuang Qi, only to leave such a gaping flaw?’

’With the power of a True God, there are countless ways to control someone without anyone ever knowing.’

’This part is a loophole.’

’But for the life of him, Chen Yu couldn’t figure out what this loophole implied.’

”Don’t worry,” the Dean said, looking at Chen Yu. ”Once this is all over, given your accomplishments and status, entrusting her to you won’t be an issue.”

”...I was thinking about something else,” Chen Yu said, snapping out of his thoughts.

The Dean smiled faintly. ”Don’t worry. I get it.”

”...”

’Get it? You don’t get a damn thing...’

Seeing the Dean’s expression, Chen Yu’s face darkened, but he had no desire to explain further.

’He can think whatever he wants.’

”Dean, I’m a little tired. I’m going to head back and rest,” Chen Yu said.

The Dean nodded. ”Alright, go on. I’ll send you the files.”

Chen Yu nodded and walked away.

Watching Chen Yu’s retreating figure, the Dean glanced back at the Black Tower, lost in thought for a moment, before leaving as well.

...

”Hey, Brother Yu, you’re back!”

He was on his way back when a voice suddenly called out. Chen Yu stopped and looked over to see a familiar figure.

Ma Xiang!

Ma Xiang hurried over to Chen Yu, looking him up and down with a curious expression. ”Brother Yu, when did you get back?”

”Not long ago,” Chen Yu said.

”How was the Astral Realm? You must have improved a lot, huh?” Ma Xiang asked, staring at Chen Yu like an inquisitive child.

Chen Yu nodded. ”It was alright. I improved a little.”

”Did you get to soak in the Star Spring?”

Ma Xiang asked with a wink.

”I did.”

Chen Yu nodded. He looked at Ma Xiang, then glanced toward the inner part of the academy before turning back to him. ”Do you know about your cousin’s situation?”

Ma Xiang: ”?”

Hearing this, Ma Xiang froze for a second before his eyes widened in realization. ”Brother Yu, you want to be my cousin-in-law?”

Chen Yu: ”(ー_ー)!!”

”Heh heh, Brother Yu, if you want to be my cousin-in-law, I’m all for it,” Ma Xiang said with a sly grin.

”...”

’Cousin-in-law my ass!’

Seeing Ma Xiang’s sleazy grin, a vein throbbed on Chen Yu’s forehead.

”You’re getting ahead of yourself. I’m asking if you know anything about your cousin’s current condition,” Chen Yu asked.
