Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 213: Chapter 187: Overwhelming Victory_2

But today, they faced the Longspear Guard, who were equally fierce and unafraid of death.

Spear formations were used for defense, especially in narrow corridors and passageways, where they could unleash devastating effects.

The difference was too stark. When a few spears thrust out, the Pirates had nowhere to escape and could not attack with their own weapons.

But some Pirates directly threw their hand axes or took out muskets they had already loaded and fired.

For a time, the melee resulted in casualties on both sides.

Yet no one retreated. They had to protect their loved ones behind them and offer the blood of their enemies to their Lord.

Loyalty!!!

However, the battle on the deck was a one-sided affair. What good equipment could the Pirates possibly have? All of them wore light armor or no armor at all.

And for Boudica, those were perfect targets.

Seeing the Pirates, she excitedly grabbed her weapon and charged forward, breaking away from her team.

The War Halberd slashed and hacked, leaving behind limbs and severed arms wherever it went. No Pirate could get close to her, and her crazed demeanor even overpowered them.

Her posture immediately caught Big Beard’s attention. He was astonished to see her single-handedly dominating the fight. These Barbarians are indeed ruthless!

But he was no ordinary man, and with a fierce shout, he rushed forward.

”Barbarian! Your opponent is me.”

Boudica’s face still bore a smile. The slashing gave her intense pleasure, scattering the gloom of the past few days.

Can’t beat the boss, but I can sure beat you guys!

”Big Guy!” The approaching Big Beard drew her attention. These small fry hadn’t even satisfied her yet; she craved a more formidable opponent.

”WAAAGH!!!”

She instinctively shouted her tribe’s war cry as her War Halberd cleaved down towards Big Beard, bringing them into direct combat.

The doctor hadn’t expected this woman to be so powerful. If she had come for me that night, one strike from her halberd would have finished me, she reflected. I wouldn’t have even had the chance to meet Lance.

The old captain was also somewhat frightened. He’d never expected this Barbarian Guard to be so strong. No wonder the Lord isn’t worried about those Pirates, he thought.

But Lance wasn’t particularly concerned. There might be strong individuals among the Pirates, but most were like bandits, just scraping by. If Boudica couldn’t defeat them, then the resources spent on those Extraordinary creatures would have been wasted.

However, he was more anxious about another matter. Musket fire had erupted, and a huge sense of crisis enveloped him.

Do you fucking know how much money I have to spend to treat a wounded Guard?!

”Protect the doctor!” At this moment, Lance couldn’t afford to slack off. Without waiting for the Pirates to get close, he proactively charged into the fray, wielding his Longsword.

Compared to Boudica’s flamboyance, Lance was like an efficient killing machine; his Elite strength was on a completely different level.

He specifically targeted Pirates armed with muskets, cutting them down with ease and leaving cries of anguish in his wake.

The doctor and the old captain following behind were dumbfounded. Are we the weakest ones here? they wondered.

But both of them quickly reacted, swinging their weapons to deal with the Pirates.

One had to admit, the doctor’s skills were decent. Handling one or two Pirates was not a problem; it was a mystery how she, a university student, had learned these moves.

As for the old captain, his body lacked youthful strength. However, years of hard work meant he wasn’t far behind in terms of stamina. Coupled with his crafty experience, his curved blade moved with practiced ruthlessness, slicing through Pirate bodies.

The Pirates’ madness was undeniable, but it came with a price: their ferocity was predicated on inflicting violence, not enduring it from others.

Only blood could quell their frenzy—sometimes the blood of enemies, and now, their own.

They quickly realized they couldn’t win. Panic followed their frenzy as they watched companions, who had been joking with them moments before, fall. Although there wasn’t much true affection among Pirates, they still felt a chilling sense of shared vulnerability.

No, I have to run!

When the first Pirate thought of turning tail and running, their entire front collapsed.

Big Beard, of course, noticed the changing tide of battle and knew he had been tricked. He had thought he could easily take down this Barbarian, only to find himself entangled.

But Pirates never had a code of martial honor. He blocked the War Halberd with his curved blade and reached for the musket at his waist.

A cruel smile spread across his face. Die!

Boudica was battle-hardened. How could she be unaware of the weapon’s power? She wasn’t stupid; she wouldn’t just stand by and watch him make his move.

ROAR!

With a savage roar, Boudica unleashed a brutal, bloodthirsty aura that rushed towards Big Beard. Fear gripped his heart, and his hands stalled involuntarily.

Yet Boudica’s movements didn’t falter. Her War Halberd slashed out, cleaving away both the musket and his hand.

AAAH!

Agony shot up from his severed hand, breaking through the fear and snapping him back to reality. By then, he had no means to resist; the next blow would surely split him in two.

No, I must find a way!

He had no choice. Big Beard stepped back, using his comrades’ bodies to block Boudica’s attack. Despite his large frame, he moved with surprising agility.

He couldn’t outrun the enemy, so he just had to run faster than his mates. After this battle, however, hardly any crew member would trust him, even among the notorious Pirates.

But now he couldn’t care less; survival was imperative.

”Coward!” Boudica hadn’t expected Big Beard to suddenly flee. She casually hacked the Pirate in front of her in two and then quickly gave chase.

But there were too many fleeing enemies, and the space near the ship’s railing was too narrow. Just as she saw him pulling away, about to return to his own ship, a bottle was thrown. It burst on impact, spilling a sticky, light green liquid.
