Reincarnated As a Fox With System

Chapter 523: Deadly Game!

Tang Li Xueʼs perfect copy rolled her topaz blue eyes and reminded: ”Isnʼt it better if we just hide here until the first phase is over? Why should we wander around at this time when those bloodthirsty predator foxes are still busily harvesting the lives of weaker foxes?”

”This... Err... Not a bad idea, but... Isnʼt that too cowardly? It does not look like a protagonist at all! What if someone knows about this in the future? My image as an OP beautiful fox goddess will crumble!” Tang Li Xue started rambling on in a doubtful tone.

The perfect copy stared strangely at Tang Li Xue while her mouth twitched violently.

She almost could not hold back and scolded right on Tang Li Xueʼs face.

The perfect copy took a deep breath and asked with a calmer tone: ”Where did you get the thought that you are the protagonist?”

”Because I have system?” Tang Li Xue replied lightly.

”Then why do you think you are OP? You had already got defeated many times before! By Instructor Lan, Mo Chonglin, Elder Yang, huge owl, and so on... You even almost kicked the bucket several times already!” The perfect copy asked again with a colder voice.

”All right, I am just kidding... and I also said ʼin the futureʼ, arenʼt I? Okay, how about this... You can stay here while I will go out alone to check the surrounding situation. Do not worry; I can easily use the usual ʼswap and resummonʼ trick If I meet with any danger later.” Tang Li Xue explained her plan.
Actually, Tang Li Xue was unwilling to give up and hide without trying since she was still aiming to get some additional achievement rewards from the [Alice in Treasure Land] quest later.

It was not life-threatening to die in this Foxes Hunting Festival anyway, so why not be a little bit brave and take some risk to get more rewards from her systemʼs quest?!

After some discussion between Tang Li Xue and her perfect copy, they finally decided to do just like what Tang Li Xue had said.

Tang Li Xue activated the [Spider Scorpion Transformation] divine ability, then her figure swelled bigger and covered with the thick silvery white carapace.

In her Spider Scorpion form, Tang Li Xue easily dug a tunnel out to above the ground.

When Tang Li Xue reached the surface, it was already dawn, and the sun was almost set.

Tang Li Xue took a deep breath of fresh air since it was so suffocating in the underground before.

If Tang Li Xue was an ordinary mortal... or ordinary fox, she might already have been out of breath to death long ago.

”Hmmm... Which direction should I go now? But I would never go back in the direction of the previous rainy area!” Tang Li Xue muttered in a playful tone.

In the end, Tang Li Xue decided to run in the direction where the sun was set.

Tang Li Xue canceled the [Spider Scorpion Transformation] while activating her [Ethereal Form] and [Art of Concealment] as she ran swiftly toward the west.

However, Tang Li Xue did not meet with any other foxes after traveling for one or two hours this time.

ʼIt seems the number of participants has decreased a lot compared to before after more than one day. At this rate, the first phase will probably be over in a week or so.ʼ Tang Li Xue deduced in her mind.

Because the night sky in this Treasure Land was so dark without any moon or stars, several golden lights of the precious treasures could clearly be seen from afar right now.

The nearest precious treasure location was only a few hundred miles from Tang Li Xueʼs current location, so she decided to take a look closer.

Different from before, when the precious treasure suddenly appeared near her hiding place, she was fully prepared right now!

She has three times protection from the [Sun And Moon Aegis] now, and she could also use the ʼsteal and runʼ strategy along with the ʼswapping location and resummonʼ trick with her perfect copy.

In short, the current Tang Li Xue has more than seventy percent confidence to successfully steal these precious treasures from the other foxes!

When Tang Li Xue approached the pillar of the golden light, she raised her vigilance to the maximum, and she also urged her [Extrasensory Perception] to expand wider.

ʼStrange... Why is there no one here? But my [Extrasensory Perception] did not sense any danger at all. So, is this precious treasure free for me?!ʼ Tang Li Xue thought while frowning deeply.

After pondering carefully for a few moments, Tang Li Xue decisively approached the pillar of the golden light to quickly snatch the precious treasure!

But who knew Tang Li Xueʼs invisible figure actually got sucked into the pillar of the golden light when she got closer to it!

ʼWhat the hell is happening...” Before Tang Li Xue could finish her words or do anything, she entered the pillar of golden light and disappeared.

.....

...

.

When Tang Li Xue opened her topaz blue eyes again, she was not in the forest anymore but inside the huge closed room.

Other than her, there were actually five other foxes inside this huge closed room.

Thankfully, they were not besieging Tang Li Xue together the moment she arrived here.

Of course, maybe it was because Tang Li Xue was still in her [Ethereal Form], so they could not find her for now.

Tang Li Xue frowned deeply as she still did not get what really happened to her right now.

Since no one had fought with each other yet, Tang Li Xue took this chance to observe her surrounding more carefully.

ʼThis is a solid room. It should be hard for us to get out of here with force. But since the other foxes are still so calm right now, it means we should have some way to get out from here later.ʼ

ʼThis huge closed room should have utilized the same space technology as the Education Department Buildingʼs training rooms or Residential Buildingʼs house inside the room.ʼ

Tang Li Xue concluded one by one calmly.

Then she tried to sense her perfect copy, but her [Twin Moons] divine ability was actually got automatically canceled as if this huge closed room was in a different space from the Treasure Island.

So, since the two places were not in the same space, the [Twin Moons] measured that the distance between Tang Li Xue and her perfect copy was too far and automatically got canceled.

Tang Li Xue sighed in disappointment because she could no longer use the ʼswapping location and resummonʼ trick to instantly get out of this room.

When Tang Li Xue wanted to the center of this huge closed room, she saw a set of hologram-like numbers floating in mid-air.

[213]...

[212]...

[210]...

ʼWait, the number is counting down! What does it mean? This place will not explode after it reaches zero, right?ʼ Tang Li Xue muttered in her heart.

After looking around this huge closed room for a while, Tang Li Xue did not find any more clues, so she could only wait for the time countdown to reach zero like other foxes.

When the time almost reached zero, there were two other foxes arriving here, so there were seven foxes in total, including Tang Li Xue, inside this closed room.

[5], [4], [3], [2], [1], [0]....

Suddenly, a red pointer appeared above the head of one of the foxes!

ʼWhat does that mean? Damn it! I donʼt get it at all!ʼ Tang Li Xue angrily thought.

However, the zero number floating in mid-air changed into a string of words!

[If your attack hits the fox with the red pointer, the red pointer will change to yours.]

[You all have 10 minutes, and the last fox with the red pointer will get the precious treasure.]

[Have a good fight, fox cubs! I wish you luck!]

BBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM~!!!

Just when Tang Li Xue finished reading the words, the previous fox with the red pointer was already sent flying by another fox and crashed onto the sturdy wall.

That fox turned into a group of white lights and disappeared!

Yes, it got eliminated from this Foxes Hunting Festival just like that!

ʼDamn! So, this is how we get the precious treasure?! We must compete with each other first in this kind of deadly game?!ʼ Tang Li Xue was baffled at that instant.

Then many questions came into Tang Li Xueʼs mind...

ʼSo, should we play the same Tag game like this every time we get close to the pillar of golden light to get the precious treasure? No way, right?! The game should be different for every treasure!ʼ

ʼNow I know why those predator foxes want to eliminate the other foxes earlier. Because without any other competitor, the treasure in the pillar of golden light would automatically fall into their hands without any need to compete with others at all!ʼ

ʼUrgghhh... Why didnʼt Instructor Lan tell us about this before?!ʼ Tang Li Xue thought in frustration.

Actually, it was not Instructor Mei Lanʼs fault since this kind of information was prohibited from being told to the students by the higher-ups of Myriad Foxes Academy.

It was the same as a teacher could tell to the students which part they should focus on learning before the exam, but the teacher could not tell the exact exam questions or answers to the students.

While Tang Li Xue was still in deep thought, the battle between the other six foxes was already extremely fierce!

Two other foxes could only hold for less than one minute and got eliminated too!

There were only four foxes left, including Tang Li Xue, that was still hiding quietly in her [Ethereal Form].
