Reincarnated As a Fox With System

Chapter 398 Waiting for Instructor Mei Lan!

Suddenly, a silhouette was flying out from Instructor Mei Lanʼs space pouch that she hung on her neck.

It was actually Instructor Mei Lanʼs green-colored Wind Riding Bird.

It seems the green-colored Wind Riding Bird sensed that Instructor Mei Lan called for it and swiftly flew out from her space pouch.

”Daoqie (Cabbage), I can only count on you now. Please do not forget to bring that Zuo Hongzhuang too before you fly out from this city...” Instructor Mei Lan weakly muttered before she fell unconscious.

The green-colored Wind Riding Bird quickly flapped its wings and swiftly caught the unconscious Instructor Mei Lan before she fell onto the ground, then threw her onto its back.

Then the green-colored Wind Riding Bird proceed to look for Zuo Hongzhuang according to Instructor Mei Lanʼs order, but it did not know where to began when it saw the large and deep hole on the ground below it.

It took the green-colored Wind Riding Bird a while to find the fainted Zuo Hongzhuang inside the large and deep hole.

Instructor Mei Lan was currently in a coma because of her severe injuries, but Zuo Hongzhuangʼs condition seems even worse than Instructor Mei Lanʼs condition.

The green-colored Wind Riding Bird put down the fainted Instructor Mei Lan and used its beak to search for something in Instructor Mei Lanʼs space pouch.

The green-colored Wind Riding Bird took out a stack of [Talisman of Regeneration +3] from Instructor Mei Lanʼs space pouch with its beak, then used those [Talisman of Regeneration +3] on Zuo Hongzhuang and Instructor Mei Lan.

After making sure that the condition of Zuo Hongzhuang and Instructor Mei Lan became a bit better, the green-colored Wind Riding Bird threw both of them onto its back and flapped its wings rapidly to soar onto the sky, then flew swiftly out of the Imperial Palace as fast as possible.

.....

...

.

Meanwhile, Elder Yang had already gotten off from his carriage, and two Nascent Soul Stage elders followed closely behind him.

He also already wore back the silver mask to cover his face.

All of them entered the Imperial Palace, and many people from Imperial Palace hastily notified him about the earth-shattering battle that happened in Imperial Garden more than ten minutes ago.

But the Emperor already released a decree to not let anyone approach Imperial Garden until further notice this morning, so the Imperial Guards did not dare to check it.

Some gatekeepers also reported to Elder Yang that they had spotted a big green bird flew out from the east gate of Imperial Garden just now.

”Elder Yang, what should we do? Should we just split up to check it?” One of the Nascent Soul Stage elders asked for Elder Yangʼs opinion with a grim expression.

Elder Yang pondered for a while before replied: ”Yes, we need to split up here. You two will go together to check the Imperial Garden. Remember always to be really careful! I do not know why they fight against each other, but I bet the two people fighting in Imperial Garden must be very powerful from how the Imperial Guards described the sound and explosion from their battle.”

The other Nascent Soul Stage elder frowned and muttered with a tone filled with worry: ”But... does it mean Elder Yang will chase after that big green bird alone? This is not good. What if you meet with the serial killer halfway? Our first priority is to protect your life so how could we let you wander alone without any protection?!”

”That is right. What if one of us stays with Elder Yang and chase after that big green bird together, while the other check the Imperial Garden alone?” The first Nascent Soul Stage elder suggested.

Elder Yang shook his head and ”No, that will not do. The enemies in the Imperial Garden clearly much stronger, so you two must check it together. You all do not need to worry about me. I am not a weakling. If I really cannot win against the serial killer, at least I am quite sure that I can escape unscathed from him.”

”This...” The two Nascent Soul Stage elders looked toward each other in hesitation and tried to persuade Elder Yang several more times again, but Elder Yang rejected their suggestion and remained firm to his decision.

The two Nascent Soul Stage elders felt helpless, and they could only follow Elder Yangʼs decision, but they still reminded Elder Yang to use his signal flare if he fell into any danger later.

Elder Yang and the two Nascent Soul Stage elders knew that they did not have much time, so they immediately bid their farewell and flew using their flying swords to their own destination place.

ʼFrom the information I get, it seems the battle in Imperial Palace is just finished, and the survivor in that battle mounted on the green bird to escape out from Tang Feng City.ʼ Elder Yang easily deduced everything in his mind.

ʼI will check it first. If that person is from Fox Race, it means that person is Xiao Baiʼs friend, so I will let it go. But if that person is not from Fox Race...ʼ Elder Yangʼs eyes glinted coldly after he decided what he would do.

That was also the reason why Elder Yang did not let any of the two Nascent Soul Stage elders followed him just now.

Because he surely could not spare anyone or let them go like that in front of the Nascent Soul Stage elderʼs eyes.

It did not take long for Elder Yang to catch up with Instructor Mei Lanʼs green Wind Riding Bird.

It only took Elder Yang several minutes with his flying sword since the green Wind Riding Bird could not fly too fast with two severely injured foxes on its back.

The green Wind Riding Bird certainly did not want the unconscious Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang to fall from its back when they were flying quite high in the sky. It also could not tie them onto its own back because it only has a pair of bird claws used to run on the ground.

However, the green Wind Riding Bird became really anxious and panicked when it realized that Elder Yang was slowly closing the distance between them from behind.

The green Wind Riding Bird flapped its wings more rapidly to fly even faster, but the unconscious Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang started to slip from its back and fell instead because of the fierce wind.

The green Wind Riding Bird plunged swiftly from the sky and caught the unconscious Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang with its pair of bird claws before they smashed onto the ground.

Unfortunately, that small accident gave Elder Yang ample time to catch up to it, and he was currently already floating right in front of the green Wind Riding Bird.

The green Wind Riding Bird knew that it could no longer escape from Elder Yang since he was already so close to it. The green Wind Riding Bird prepared for the last struggle and fought with its life at the line.

Elder Yang did not even bother to be wary of the green Wind Riding Bird, since the green Wind Riding Bird was nothing more than a weak mount in Elder Yangʼs eyes.

With her current strength, he could easily kill the green Wind Riding Bird anytime if he really wanted it.

Elder Yang glanced at the two unconscious girls in the grasp of the green Wind Riding Birdʼs claws.

Instructor Mei Lanʼs black veil and black hood had long been torn in her battle against Zuo Hongzhuang before.

While Zuo Hongzhuang already canceled her disguise and turned back into her real appearance before she even fought against Instructor Mei Lan.

Elder Yang could see the real appearance of Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang very clearly.

He frowned deeply and thought with hesitation: ʼBoth of them have fox ears? So both of them are from Fox Race? I wonder if they are really Xiao Baiʼs friends...ʼ

Elder Yang controlled his flying sword to fly slowly forward and tried to approach the fainted Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang.

”KKKEEEAAAAAAKKK~!!!” The green Wind Riding Bird chirped threateningly at Elder Yang as if a hen tried to protect its chicks.

”You do not need to worry. If I really want to kill or catch all of you, I can do it easily right now, no matter how much you struggle. I only want to check on their current condition.” Elder Yang casually said to the green Wind Riding Bird while kept approaching the fainted Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang.

The green Wind Riding Bird was unwilling to let Elder Yang approach the fainted Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang, but it also knew that it did not have any other choice than to comply with his will right now.

Elder Yang immediately recognized Instructor Mei Lan after he saw Instructor Mei Lanʼs blood-covered appearance from close and exclaimed: ”Ah, I know this girl. She was in one group with Xiao Bai when I invite them to enter Imperial Palace before. It seems they really are Xiao Baiʼs friends.”

The green Wind Riding Bird kept vigilantly staring at Elder Yang and ready to react if he did something strange to the fainted Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang, but Elder Yang did not mind it and checked on the condition of the fainted two.

Elder Yang frowned deeper and murmured: ”Their condition is not too good. They are too heavily wounded. If they are human, they would certainly already dead by now. But at least, their life is not in danger. Moreover, Beast Race is really tenacious, so they should be able to recover sooner or later.”

Elder Yang took out two Wound Recovery Pills and two Blood Replenishing Pills, then wanted to give them to the fainted Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang.

But the suspicious green Wind Riding Bird did not let it, and it quickly intercepted Elder Yang.

The annoyed Elder Yang popped the pills into his own mouth and patiently explained to the green Wind Riding Bird: ”Look, these pills are only medicine to help them recover from their wounds.”

The green Wind Riding Bird felt more assured after Elder Yang proved that his pills were not dangerous, then it finally let Elder Yang feed his pills to the fainted Instructor Mei Lan and Zuo Hongzhuang.

”You can go now. Just be more careful on your way!” Elder Yang said as he waved his hand to chase the green Wind Riding Bird away.

The green Wind Riding Bird was flabbergasted by Elder Yangʼs words and opened its beak in disbelief.

Elder Yang chuckled and said with a mocking tone: ”What? Do you really want me to catch you and those people, then bring all of you back to Imperial Palace?”

When it heard Elder Yangʼs mocking words, the green Wind Riding Bird immediately chirped in panic and flew away as fast as possible to escape out from Tang Feng City.

Elder Yang wanted to fly back to Imperial Palace, but after pondered it for a few moments, he decided to escort the green Wind Riding Bird out from the Tang Feng City from afar.

”Sigh… It would be bad if something happened to them here. Xiao Bai does not remember anything about me anymore, but I can still approach her step by step like the first time we met, but if something bad happened to her friends here, she might think that I am the culprit and hate me for it.” Elder Yang murmured and sighed in worry.

…..

…

.

Tang Li Xue already rode on her Wind Riding Bird and flying further and further away from Tang Feng City to catch up with Bing Yi and Hei Yinghao a few minutes ago.

She was no longer heavily injured since she already used [Damage Transfer] skill to transfer all of her wounds to her perfect copy previously when her perfect copy was still in Elder Yangʼs luxurious carriage.

It did not take long for her to catch up with Bing Yi and Hei Yinghao that already waited for her a few tens of miles away from Tang Feng City.

The fake Crown Prince Feng was also still staying with them, so the four of them only need to wait for Instructor Mei Lan to meet with them here.
