Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Chapter 548: Chapter 548: The Unexpected Arrival (Part 3)

Qin Xin stood on the playground, her brows furrowed.

This was the last class of the day, and it was already evening. The dark clouds in the sky were rolling in with the night, pressing ominously.

She saw Song Anjing from the Pharmacy College already sprinting towards her on her short legs.

Not far away, Xiangxiang, too, was tearful: ”Little Miss, boo hoo...”

Qin Xin didn’t have time to greet them, she assessed the situation around her and quickly made a decision: ”Keep running, head towards Ice Lake!”

Nearby, Gou Dachun and the students from Class 2 were still in shock, having survived a disaster. Only now did they realize Qin Xin’s actions in the classroom, like smashing the desk, had saved their lives.

At this moment, they regarded Qin Xin as a figure of reverence; whatever she said went.

Immediately, they all sprinted wildly towards Ice Lake.

Other students escaping from the surrounding colleges followed suit, succumbing to the herd mentality, and ran along.

A vast crowd moved en masse in the direction of Ice Lake.

Behind them, ”Boom!” The Pharmacy College building also collapsed, crushing the playground where they had just been, along with a large row of sports equipment and basketball facilities, reduced to fragments.

Song Anjing’s heart skipped a beat.

If she hadn’t followed Sister Xin, even if she had escaped the building, she wouldn’t have escaped the fate of being crushed to dust.

Qin Xin led Class 2, along with students and faculty from the Medical College, Pharmacy College, and several other faculties, in a mad dash to the edge of Ice Lake, where they finally stopped.

They watched helplessly as building after building toppled along the route they had just fled.

Some even sank directly into the ground.

In the few seconds of gasping for breath in place, everyone realized and started lifting their phones, some calling friends, others calling family; some tried contacting the police or finding an ambulance.

However, all their phones had lost signal.

Ao Xinghao: ”Xin, my aunt’s out. Is there anyone you know who hasn’t made it out yet?”

Qin Xin glanced at her phone with no signal.

After finishing her call with Xiangxiang, she realized the signal had cut out.

Initially, her first thought had been to call Mr. Nalan.

But she’s been to the Nalan Group building; she knew it had an earthquake resistance rating of over ten.

Her second thought was Qin Xiaoshuang.

But Xiaoshuang had no classes today and stayed at Xinghe Bay. The villas at Xinghe Bay also had a seismic resistance rating of over ten. So Mr. Nalan and Xiaoshuang were safe.

Her third thought... was actually that estranged brother she never met.

She wondered if that estranged brother would care about his sister’s life when he learned about the incident at Imperial University.

At this moment, Qin Xin realized that in an emergency, her top three thoughts did not include Mrs. Qin and Qin Wen Rou.

Likely, they would not consider her either.

Perhaps that’s for the best, no obligations to each other!

＝＝

By the cold edge of Ice Lake.

Everyone shivered as they watched the schools and their once-glorious faculties collapse in an instant.

Those familiar faces around them were suddenly swallowed by disaster.

The impact was beyond words.

Truly, no one knows if disaster or tomorrow will come first.

Nor do they know who will be there with them in the most perilous moments.

As the night gradually fell.

Finally, after the last collapsing building turned into broken walls and ruins, the tremors of the earth slightly subsided.

Can they now escape the campus?

However, the collapse of two large buildings at the gate blocked the path to the outside.

How to proceed?

What if there are aftershocks?

Moreover, without signal, they were completely in the dark about the conditions outside the school.

Was the entire Imperial City shaking? Was it safer outside or more dangerous?

Everyone’s gaze involuntarily turned to the girl in the black hoodie and green baseball cap among the crowd.

Even the Geography College teachers refrained from giving opinions and instead looked at Qin Xin.

It seemed that only her predictions and guidance were the most, most, most authoritative!
