The First Store System

Chapter 1258: A New Day for the Store(5)

The fortress made of gray soil began to grow, and tall walls appeared around it. In no time, it had expanded to cover a range of one hundred meters while Ruwan was standing at the top center of the fortress, looking down at the scene playing out in front of him.

The red energy ball finally crashed into the fortress, shaking the foundations of the world.

Ruwan found the fortress disintegrating at a rapid rate in front of that attack. In no time, one-tenth of the structureʼs front towering walls were reduced to ashes. At the same time, the intensity of the attack was also decreasing.

At first, Ruwan felt his cheeks burning when the attack was only activated, but now that it was less than a hundred meters from him after clashing with the outer walls of the fortress, the intensity wasnʼt even worth the skillʼs starting point.

The attack finally died down, eating one-third of the fortress. Ruwan stood at the top center without even a slight burn mark, overlooking the attackʼs disappearance.

Ruwan marveled at the scene since the attack was clearly filled with destruction, but the fortress survived it without even harming fifty percent of its portion.

The next moment, Ruwanʼs consciousness returned back to the store while the screen on the semi-pillar lit up, containing the training details.

The content on the screen was immediately engraved in his mind. Since he had another skill to experience, Ruwan took out the [Resolute Fortress] card and put the [Tide of Restoration] in the compartment.

The next moment, Ruwan found his environment changing. He was in the middle of a battle scene with his opponent slashing at him.

Ruwan thought that his body would dodge since it was out of control for him. But the next moment, a wave of strong pain hit him as Ruwan didnʼt dodge the attack but instead rushed at the opponent like a suicide attack.

He succeeded in the attack, cutting his opponent in two symmetrical horizontal pieces, but at the same time, the enemyʼs sword had slashed his head.

Fortunately for him, his cutting the opponent had slowed the momentum, so his head hadnʼt fallen off. But the situation was not good at all.

His head was hanging over a threat, and his eyes were losing their color as the spurt of blood oozed from the cut.

Ruwan had never felt physical pain of such intensity, and he tried to scream. But it was only vented in his heart since the body was outside his control.

Suddenly, a warm feeling rushed through his body after Ruwan activated the skill at the last moment.

The next moment, a surge of blue water enveloped him. It was crystal clear, without even a trace of dirt.

As the water surrounded Ruwan, his injuries began to heal at a rapid rate. The disintegrated muscle due to the sword cut could be seen growing up around his neck.

Gritting his teeth, Ruwan put his head back straight, and soon after, it was attached back, looking like it was never cut off.

[Skill: Resolute Fortress

Level: King

Cultivator: early to peak Higher God

Compatibility: 63%

Training Time: Two Years, Three Months.]

Ruwan went through the training time details he had seen after the experience was complete.

As expected, his compatibility with the earthen element skill wasnʼt as high as his compatibility with [Annihilation Tempest]. But since [Resolute Fortess] was a King level skill, it took him fifteen months to fully learn it.

Ruwan didnʼt immediately make his decision but focused on the screen for the King level [Tide of Restoration]. He was disappointed with the result since even though his compatibility with the water element was higher than the earth element, the skill took more than three years for him to fully learn.

If things went that way, Ruwan could only learn one of the two skills, but he didnʼt want to choose since both were necessary for him.

He also had the master level [Tide of Restoration] card with him, so he thought of seeing the training time required for it.

[Skill: Tide of Restoration

Level: Master

Cultivator: early to peak Higher God

Compatibility: 68%

Training Time: Five Months.]

The Master level [Tide of Restoration] would take him five months to learn, and when it was added to the fifteen months requirement of the defensive skill, he would still have a couple of months left with him to learn to use the skill more effectively in a battle.

It had helped Ruwan make his decision since if he were to buy the King level [Tide of Restoration], he wouldnʼt be able to get enough time to train for even the Master level [Resolute Fortress] as he would have only one month left before the challenge.

So seeing the training time required for the Master level healing skill made the job easy for Ruwan, and he made his decision.

Since Ruwan had made his decision and he couldnʼt buy any more skills, even if he wanted, he decided to complete the purchase. He then turned around and left the room.

When Ruwan exited the room, he saw a small line of five customers standing in front of Aakesh, so he joined it and waited for his turn.

While waiting, Ruwan was thinking of what should be his sequence of learning the skill. Since [Annihilation Tempest] was the most desired skill of the three for him, it was an easy choice to learn it first.

Ruwan could accept fighting without learning [Resolute Fortess] and [Tide of Restoration], but after seeing the destruction, [Annihilation Tempest] was the most significant.

”Can even extinct races of the Sacred Dimension be summoned from the device?” Grim asked Aakesh.

He was interested in Panagea, but he had to wait for several hours to get his turn, so he showed his interest in what he felt was the second most popular product.

”Yes, any race that has been associated with the beast group can be summoned. It doesnʼt matter whether they have gone extinct.” Aakesh replied with his usual indifferent face.

Grim grew excited after hearing Aakeshʼs response since it could help his wealth grow by severalfold.

Grim was one of the top-level members of the organization, but he was neither strong nor talented enough to sit on the board.

The board of the organization consisted of eleven cultivators. Out of the eleven seats, six were reserved for the founder family, while there was a switch between the remaining five seats.

There were only two ways to be selected on that board. Either reach the Sacred Emperor cultivation or grow a profit of ten thousand ultimate Sacred stones in a year.

Out of the five, only one was the Sacred Emperor, while the other four were those employees who had fulfilled the condition of the profit.

The head of the organization was also a Sacred Emperor cultivator, and he was also the founder of the organization. What made Grim excited after hearing Aakeshʼs response had to do with the founder.

Several million years ago, the founder found the egg of a Melodious Nightingale, a beautiful bird known for its voice throughout the multiverse. That egg was the last of the creature and was an extremely rare item.

When the egg hatched, a male nightingale was born from it, further exciting the founder since the male Nightingale sang while the femaleʼs voices were ordinary. The founder has always been fond of music, so he taught several of his favorite melodies to the bird, and it made those songs even better with its heavenly voice.

The founder liked the bird so much that he treated it even better than he treated his family. It was as if the bird was the son he never had.

One of the founderʼs sons was extremely jealous of the bird since his residence was taken from him and was gifted to the bird. In a moment of blinding rage and hatred, the son harmed the birdʼs vocal cords since his father liked the bird for its singing.

When the founder came to know of it, he grew in a blinding rage and executed the son for his deeds. It was the truth that the man liked the bird for its singing, but after living with it for several thousand years, he had grown attached to it.

Despite its voice being gone, the founder treated the bird as he used to do earlier. The man had accepted the birdʼs injury, but the bird couldnʼt, and it committed suicide since it couldnʼt live in a world where it couldnʼt sing.

The founder was heartbroken by the news and disappeared from the world for years after that. It was later known that the founder was looking for the Melodious Nightingale in the Sacred Dimension to fill the immense loss he had faced with the birdʼs death.
