I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 159: Chapter 143: Wrong? Die!

The Wanderer Dillon’s entire body hair stood on end!

It’s not that he hasn’t seen Magic Missiles before; on the contrary, he’s very familiar with them.

But the threat this time from the missile was unprecedented.

Too fast!!

The obviously abnormal firing speed is something a Magic Missile could never achieve!

And he hadn’t noticed that, besides the target female and the male Warrior in the enemy team, there was another Caster in the dark! This caught him off guard.

His mind raced.

The glow of the blessing spell that the Priest had cast on him in advance took effect.

With the help of the blessing spell and his survival instincts, he exerted all his strength to leap backward.

The last Magic Missile barely grazed his waist.

”Boom! Boom! Boom!”

Three missiles exploded in the snow, causing snowflakes to rise up.

”That was close, I...”

Dillon rolled awkwardly twice in the snow, trying to stabilize himself, unable to catch his breath.

Another surge of magical force rose from his side.

”Magic Missile!”

”Boom!”

Another missile shot out from the Magic Staff in Gauss’s hand.

Dillon, who had just rolled a few times on the ground, was frightened out of his wits.

Seeing the rapidly approaching Magic Missile, he knew he was most likely too late to dodge this time.

Already exhausted and not able to generate new strength, half-kneeling in the snow further hindered him.

He could only raise his arm with leather gloves to block his face as much as possible and curl up his body.

”Boom!”

A missile struck his forearm.

He felt an intense impact sweep over him, as if he were directly hit by a battering ram.

”Crack! Crack!” The ear-piercing sound of bone breaking was clearly audible, and both forearms twisted and broke like dead branches!

The next moment, his body was sent flying by this heavy force.

”Thud!!”

Dillon rolled a few more times on the snow-covered ground.

Hot red blood splattered out, staining a large patch of the snow in a pattern like ”blood plum blossoms.”

”Cough, cough!”

Lying in the snow, he continued to cough up blood.

His broken arm fell powerlessly onto the white snow.

On his chest, protected by leather armor, there was a terrifying blood hole the size of a bowl, clearly beyond saving.

Lying in the snow, his blurred vision looked in the direction the missile came from.

All he saw was the ”Goblin Slayer” where he thought there should have been a Caster.

”Who... was it... really?”

In confusion, the last glimmer of life faded from his pupils.

”Dillon!!!”

The sudden and tragic death of their companion Dillon made the Priest and Mage, who were about to step forward to provide treatment, narrow their eyes in shock, especially the Mage, who was in utter disbelief.

Was that his... Magic Missile?

But the Warrior Blake in front of Gauss seized this rare opportunity.

At the moment Gauss was fully focused on killing Dillon, Blake swung his Great Sword, unleashing a strike that tore through the air, the blade enveloped in white light, fiercely chopping towards Gauss’s shoulder.

”Bang!!”

The crisp sound echoed through the snow.

Hit!!

A hint of joy flashed in Blake’s eyes.

But the next moment, the feedback from his hand felt as if he had struck solid rock, causing the joy in his eyes to vanish.

It seemed like Gauss was shrouded in an unseen thick Armor, and a fluctuating ripple could vaguely be seen upon closer inspection.

His proud slash.

Achieved nothing!

Gauss furrowed his brow after taking a heavy slash and leveraged the force to jump back.

Landing steadily, Gauss looked at Blake.

The gaze now held was completely different from the initial indifferent one, imbued with a cold killing intent.

”Such a strong Protective Spell!” Blake gulped.

He realized that Gauss’s strength far exceeded their expectations.

If he had known earlier, he would never have harbored any ill intent.

At this moment, his heart was filled with regret, immense regret!

Gauss glanced aside, seeing that Aaliyah and Ulfen had already regained consciousness.

Moreover, Aaliyah was riding on Ulfen’s back, freeing Gauss from worries about them temporarily.

”All together, or we’ll all die here!”

Blake yelled to the two behind him.

Aside from the deceased Dillon, the other three were not fast, and the opponent had a giant wolf, making it impossible to shake them off quickly.

The only option now was to fight with their backs against the wall!

After Dillon’s death, the two behind also realized the seriousness of the situation.

The Priest cast Blessing Spells, and with his casting, the two of them were also enveloped in a layer of blessing light.

With the blessing spell’s presence, the Warrior’s physical control, and the Mage’s casting efficiency and success rate could improve to a certain extent.

With his support ”Aaliyah” not needing attention.

Gauss ignored the Blake before him.

Activating the [Enhanced Jump], his legs suddenly drew strength from the snow, becoming powerful.

”Swoosh!”

He put away the Unbreakable Staff, without even a glance at Blake, flickered and charged towards the Priest and Mage behind him.

However, Blake was encased in a heavy but sturdy metal armor, making it impossible for him to catch up to Gauss.

He could only turn his head, watching Gauss’s form lightly touch the ground a few times, quickly disappearing, a sense of powerlessness in his eyes.

He realized too that although he could use his stomping skill, the rapid linear movement and heavy load meant he couldn’t match the other in agility or speed!

Dylan, the only one in the team who could keep up with Gauss’s speed, was already down.

Gauss’s figure flickered swiftly across the snowfield.

The distant Mage and Priest realized he was targeting them, their hearts skipping two beats in unison.

”Magic Missile!”

The Mage pointed his Magic Staff in Gauss’s direction, casting several spells he was familiar with.

Yet, neither the intensity, casting speed, nor accuracy could match Gauss’s Magic Missiles.

Seeing the noticeably smaller fist-sized missile, Gauss tipped off the ground, his form flickering and preemptively dodged the attack.

The Mage’s mindset clearly crumbled, his casting state was a mess. If not for the Priest’s blessing, his casting speed would be even slower.

He clearly saw the vast disparity from the Magic Missiles.

Besides the deceased Dylan, no one understood more than him how powerful the spell abilities possessed by this person, whether a Swordsman or spell caster, were.

”Run!”

The Priest pulled out a crossbow arrow and fired a few symbolic shots at the rapidly approaching Gauss, preparing to turn and flee.

Under their feet, several green vines defied the season, emerging from the snow.

The vines burst from the ground, rapidly growing, precisely binding their ankles.

Aaliyah had cast the Entanglement Technique.

”Thud!”

As they turned to flee, they were instantly dragged and tripped to the ground, their scrolls falling into the snow along with them.

”Magic Missile!”

In what seemed to be a response to the previous attack by the Mage, Gauss retaliated with two Magic Missiles.

”Boom!”

The Mage and Priest who had fallen suddenly to the ground couldn’t turn around in time.

The two Magic Missiles struck their heart areas.

”Bang!”

The Magic Missile shattered the area where the heart resides, the vivid red blood spreading across the pure white snow.

Gauss followed up with a Flaming Arrow to the right side of their chests.

To prevent the extremely unlikely scenario of having a right-sided heart.

Thus, the three were dead.

He stopped, his gaze turned to the last person in the snowfield.

Warrior Blake stood motionless in place.

His gaze swept across the three cold corpses of his companions in the snow, his throat constricting painfully.

At this moment, he had no time to grieve for his allies’ passing, knowing full well he had lost the last chance to fight that man now that they were dead.

His prideful iron armor, how many such fierce attacks could it withstand in a two-man assault?

Meanwhile, his full-force slash couldn’t even break the opponent’s Protective Spell.

Not to mention, the opponent’s mobility surpassed his own.

”Clang!” The heavy great sword dropped from his hand.

”Thud!” Alongside it fell Blake’s bent knees.

”I’m sorry, I was wrong! I was manipulated by my companions!”

He knelt heavily on the cold snow, burying his head deep.

Riding upon Ulfen, Aaliyah approached Gauss, throwing him a cautious look.

”Don’t worry.”

Gauss’s gaze remained on the kneeling Warrior.

”Information! I’ll trade a piece of invaluable information for my life!”

Blake pulled out a yellowed scroll.

”Treasure map, right?” Gauss interjected before he could speak, calmly stating.

”Y-yes.”

”Then toss it over, I agree.”

”...” Blake gritted his teeth. ”No... No way! You must guarantee my safety! Once back at the camp, I’ll immediately...”

Hearing this, Gauss chuckled.

He glanced at Aaliyah, activating the Communication Technique.

Once Aaliyah received the message, she nodded slightly.

”That won’t work, who knows if you’ll run once you get back to the camp, and what if you...” As Gauss replenished his energy with magic berries and frog jerky, he argued with the last warrior.

Time was on his side.

Despite the current disparity in numbers being overwhelmingly in his favor, taking down the opponent was not an issue, but saving effort wasn’t something he’d overlook.

Meanwhile, Aaliyah by his side was already prepared.

The next moment.

With Gauss’s motion.

Vines shot up around Blake, growing swiftly.

Before he could react, they bound his kneeling body and the scattered great sword tightly.

”You! You said you’d let me go!” Blake widened his eyes.

He struggled continuously, the vines breaking with his tugs, but soon new ones grew, binding him firmly, and slipping like serpents into the gaps in his armor, eventually snapping the straps.

”Magic Missile!”

Three azure Magic Missiles whistled towards Blake’s direction.

”What a pity...” Gauss looked at the deep malice and resentment in Blake’s eyes, shaking his head slowly. ”You didn’t realize your mistake... You just realized that you’re about to die.”
