I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Chapter 152: Chapter 137: Half-Ogre

Gauss didn’t speak. He waited for the two to finish their exchange before he spoke.

”Any intel?”

”Any stupid intel! Any stupid intel! Any...” Aik turned his head towards Gauss, repeating several times.

Gauss tugged at the corner of his mouth.

But it wasn’t the first time he encountered this situation, so he took a deep breath.

He comforted himself, thinking that to have it thoroughly master simple human language, the subsequent ability to communicate with people would mean that such a silly imitation process is indispensable.

”Hmm, I found the camp managed by those half-ogres.”

As the name implies, half-ogres are a hybrid race.

A result of ogres crossbreeding with other races, such as humans, beastmen, or other humanoid creatures.

In the official Demon Introduction Manual, most of them are listed with a challenge level of 1.

Standing about 2.4 meters tall, weighing around 200 kilograms, with ugly appearances and rough skin, they inherit some of the ogre’s features and abilities, although their size is slightly smaller than pure-blood ogres.

Their intelligence isn’t particularly high, but thanks to the terrible ogre sorcerer leading the monster army, the diverse and lower-tier monsters beneath are still willing to follow the management of this hybrid half-ogre.

”Aik also discovered another tribe’s traces...”

”Good stuff.” Gauss nodded, his face showing delight.

It seems the area they were responsible for had no shortage of monsters.

”Good stuff! Good stuff!” Aik also repeated excitedly.

Gauss ignored him and turned to look at Aaliyah.

”Aaliyah, we need to finish this quickly.”

According to the usual safe approach, they should carefully scout the terrain and then use tactics similar to how they dealt with the rust frogs before, initially ambushing some in secret before slowly kiting them.

But Gauss planned to finish clearing his designated area and then ”support” the neighboring adventurers.

To help them relieve some of their pressure.

So naturally, they couldn’t proceed slowly with the previous methodical approach.

Different situations call for different strategies.

Of course, before the actual battle, a simple reconnaissance of the intel was still necessary.

The duo moved along the specific position Aik provided, navigating clearly through the forest.

Soon, they arrived near a water source.

This small unit of monsters comprised of several different types of creatures was waiting for the ogre sorcerer to sound the horn for the final attack.

But the Adventurer’s Guild had already scouted their intel in advance.

So...

”Magic Missile!”

Three massive missiles formed in the air.

Then, with lightning speed, they launched an attack on the center of the camp, where a half-ogre was resting against a straw pile.

”Boom!”

The missiles tore through the air, emitting a wailing sound.

The sudden attack caught all the monsters off guard.

Including the half-ogre in the center, which seemed very safe.

Because of concerns about alerting the enemy, these three Magic Missiles had to be launched from a distance, so Gauss could only roughly aim at the ogre. Fortunately, his level 4 proficiency was reliable enough that all three missiles consecutively hit the beast-hide armor covering the half-ogre’s body.

”Boom!!”

The first Magic Missile exploded.

The thick beast-hide armor instantly shattered into pieces.

This layer of armor, which would have been a headache for other level 1 Professionals, didn’t last long against Gauss’s Magic Missile.

With full magic power output, 9 points of magic power, a semi-core skill, level 4 proficiency, and the Professional Talent of Spell Mastery...

All these elements combined made this spell, which seemed like only a 1st Ring spell, unleash more power than a standard 1st Ring spell in Gauss’s hands.

The second missile was slightly off-target but still shattered the armor at the point of impact, with the shockwave reaching the toughened leather-like skin beneath, full of dark nodules and keratinous protrusions.

Then came the third missile in quick succession.

The explosive waves of the three missiles overlapped within a certain area.

Even the half-ogre’s tough skin couldn’t withstand this cumulative damage.

Purple blood splattered out!

Sizzling as it seeped into the ground.

At the site of the attack, the skin cracked open, revealing underneath blurred flesh intermingled with tendons and keratin.

”Roar!!!”

The half-ogre, originally at rest, let out a heart-wrenching roar.

The three attacks scrunched up its ugly features, making its menacing face even more ghastly.

”Who is it! Attacking Guluk!!”

But to say the least, a half-ogre indeed is worthy of its challenge level.

Ordinary low-tier monsters would have been obliterated by such strikes, but despite its pain, it even had the strength to get up and roar in fury!

It seems that the durability of its life force and armor is the biggest difference between level 1 monsters and low-tier monsters.

The thought flashed through Gauss’s mind as he swiftly moved across the ground.

Right after releasing the three missiles, he immediately rushed forward.

Activating [Enhanced Jump], he leaped out of the vegetation, along with the Gray Wolf Ulfen who joined him in the assault.

Gauss took several large strides, rapidly closing in on the camp.

Meanwhile, the White Bone Staff in his hand never stopped.

He approached these monsters to close the distance, as casting from too far would be inconvenient.

Upon reaching a suitable distance, the White Bone Staff in his hand once again locked onto the already wounded half-ogre.

The half-ogre had just risen from the ground, roaring in rage.

Quite a chatterbox.

Gauss naturally wouldn’t give it much preparation time, striking while the iron is hot.

That was the primary reason he immediately launched an attack on this leader half-ogre.

”Magic Missile!”

Three Magic Missiles locked onto the half-ogre again.

This time, being much closer, his attacks could precisely target the wound leaking purple blood.

The half-ogre had just lifted its axe, angrily preparing to charge at Gauss and chop him in half.

But Gauss’s missiles were even quicker.

”Boom!”

”Boom!”

”Boom!”

Three blinding blue lights flashed by.

With its armor and skin no longer protecting it,

the full force of the Magic Missiles was unleashed.

”Buzz!”

The impact of the released magic wave churned the half-ogre’s burly body like a meat grinder.

Flesh and blood continuously flew out from the wound in its chest.

Even with its immense physical strength and weight, it still stood firm.

But its chest cavity was completely hollowed out by the subsequent three Magic Missiles.

The half-ogre felt a chill, as the rage in its mind ebbed away like the tide, and the scene before its eyes grew ever darker.

In disbelief, it looked down.

The originally firm and powerful chest muscles had been blasted into a massive cavity.

Its heart was also annihilated into fragments by this force.

”Die!”

Darkness completely swallowed its sight.

”Destroyed Elite Monster Half-Ogre *1”

”Unlocked the second elite demon, unlocking the elite path for you.”
