Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 613: Chapter 611: The Truth

Sure, here is the text translated from Chinese to English:

”How can they say that about Sirius.”

After lunch, Kael suddenly heard Harry angrily shouting at Professor McGonagall as he passed the stairs.

”Deliberately harming students, suspected Death Eater? How is that possible, he’s a Phoenix...”

”Potter!” Professor McGonagall interrupted him sternly, ”That’s the Ministry of Magic’s decision, we have to cooperate.”

”But...” Harry knew he had said the wrong thing, but he was too anxious.

Sirius was inexplicably taken away, and linked with Death Eaters, which was hard for him to accept.

”But Professor, wasn’t he acquitted?”

Professor McGonagall’s mouth twitched slightly, after a moment of silence, she said, ”I can only tell you, things are not as you think... In any case, Headmaster Dumbledore will resolve this, you just need to prepare well and complete this year’s O.W.L. exams.”

Harry wanted to ask more, but Professor McGonagall went straight away.

Without getting an answer, Harry angrily hit the stair railing, and Ron and Hermione looked at him worriedly.

Kael’s expression changed slightly, it seemed there was more to Sirius being taken away...

Driven by curiosity, he decided to find Dumbledore and ask.

So that afternoon, after the last Magic History class, Kael went to the eighth floor, to the Gargoyle.

”Fang Mint Candy...”

”Pepper Imps...”

”Sugar Syrup Cherries!”

On the third attempt, the statue finally moved, stepping aside to reveal the passage behind.

The password to the Headmaster’s Office wasn’t hard to guess, you just had to recite items from Honeydukes’ stock list, usually popular products, or new ones.

When Kael pushed open the oak door to the passage and entered the Headmaster’s Office, Dumbledore was sitting behind his desk writing a letter.

Upon hearing the commotion, he looked up, ”I thought you would come to find me at noon.”

Dumbledore put down his quill, ”Is it about Sirius?”

”Sort of,” Kael said, coming to Fawkes and ruffling the feathers on its neck.

”What exactly happened, it couldn’t possibly be because a student got injured in his dueling class.”

”That’s one aspect of it,” Dumbledore said, ”Some parents wrote to me last year, criticizing his teaching methods as somewhat extreme.”

”But there’s more to it...” Dumbledore paused before continuing, ”I received news that Peter Pettigrew died, and someone saw a big black dog near Azkaban at the time.”

”Peter Pettigrew died?” Kael asked incredulously, ”Could it be false news?”

”No,” Dumbledore shook his head, ”I have confirmed it, it’s definitely Peter.”

”When?”

”A week ago,” Dumbledore said.

”It couldn’t possibly be Sirius,” Kael said confidently, ”School had already started, he was here all along.

Even though he wants Peter Pettigrew dead the most, with Harry around, he wouldn’t risk doing that.”

”I think so too, but the Ministry of Magic doesn’t believe it, they insist that I’m helping Sirius conceal.”

Dumbledore folded the parchment in his hand and stuffed it into an envelope.

”So what about the Death Eaters?” Kael asked, ”I heard Sirius’s removal is also related to the Death Eaters.”

”I’m not sure about that, probably something Peter Pettigrew said, causing a misunderstanding,” Dumbledore said.

He placed the finished letter on the desk, Fawkes nudged Kael with its head, then grabbed the letter and flew out the window.

Kael was somewhat surprised, in the Magic Realm, there weren’t many people Dumbledore would send letters to through Fawkes.

Is it to Nicolas? He wondered.

”Oh, by the way, there’s one more thing.” Dumbledore suddenly spoke, ”Although your actions in the auditorium were gratifying, I have to remind you, this new Professor Umbridge isn’t as tolerant as other professors.

”Even Professor McGonagall shares my concern, she thinks you should be more careful, and avoid giving her reasons to catch you out.”

”No problem, I have a way to deal with her.”

Kael didn’t seem too bothered by Dumbledore’s warning.

”But speaking of which...” He glanced at Dumbledore, ”Professor, that thing we discussed at Hog’s Head Pub... You haven’t forgotten, right?”

”Yes... I haven’t forgotten.”

Dumbledore’s fingers trembled slightly, and his tone turned somewhat helpless, ”In fact, I recently met with Amelia, and Barty, Arthur, your dad Chris, and two days ago I had a drink with Dugald at the Leaky Cauldron.”

”Then there’s nothing to worry about,” Kael said.

As he was about to return to the auditorium for dinner, he suddenly remembered something else, and turned back to ask:

”Professor, can you tell me your plan?”

”What?” Dumbledore seemed puzzled.

”Your plan to get expelled from Wizengamot, fool Fudge and You-Know-Who,” Kael said, ”I noticed a big difference in the number of votes.

”Of course, if it’s inconvenient, forget it.”

”Well...”

”There are things you might not fully understand...” Dumbledore suddenly became hesitant, and his tone carried a hint of awkwardness.

”Neither Wizengamot nor International Confederation of Wizards’ meetings can have everyone present.

”For instance, a Potion Master, when brewing certain precious potions, will never leave the room, and some magic experiments are the same.”

”So you really were expelled?”

”Ahem, not really,” Dumbledore said, fiddling with the silverware on the table, ”There are benefits... Those positions took up a lot of my time, after shedding those burdens, I can focus on the most pressing matters.”

”Alright, I understand,” Kael said, turning to open the oak door, ”Then, goodbye Professor.”

”Next week’s password is Lemon Sherbet, if you come again, you won’t have to guess,” Dumbledore said, ”Good luck.”

”Same to you, Professor.”

After leaving the Headmaster’s Office, Kael went straight to the auditorium.

By this time, dinner was about to start, and the auditorium was full of people.

Conna saved a spot for him, and after Kael sat down, he happened to hear Cedric discussing team recruitment with Mikel.

The team lacked one position last year, and with two people graduating this year, they needed to recruit three people.

A Keeper, a Chaser, and a Beater.

”The time is Saturday morning at nine,” Cedric said, ”Because we’re adding more new members, I hope you all can come, to see if the newcomers can better coordinate with everyone.”

”I’m good,” Mikel said, ”It would be best to get a senior Beater, second-year newcomers are too young, they lack strength.”

Kael shrugged indifferently, he didn’t have any particular requirements for the upcoming teammates, as long as they don’t hold back the team.

”Everything will be fine,” Cedric said hopefully, ”I really hope the Quidditch match starts soon, we have Kael’s Firebolt this year, even with more newcomers, other Houses won’t be a match for us.”
