Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 603: Chapter 601: Dumbledore’s Memory

Hogsmeade.

Although the term hasn’t started yet, it’s still very lively here, and every shop is open.

After all, as the most famous wizard village in the United Kingdom, Hogsmeade doesn’t just cater to students; many graduates and wizards who come here by reputation often visit.

However, there are notably more people here today, and many foreign wizard faces can be seen on the streets.

But their destination is not the more popular shops around, but an inconspicuous pub at the edge of the village.

The Hog’s Head Pub.

Kael looked up at the sign in front of him, then walked in with Dumbledore.

You can tell it has been cleaned once, but the process seemed too perfunctory, or perhaps the dust and grime have merged with the floor, making little difference.

Let alone comparing it to the Three Broomsticks, even the Oak Barrel Bar at the Romanian Fire Dragon Reserve looks much cleaner.

The only consolation is, at least the glasses here are clean... shiny, looking as good as new.

Although this situation would undoubtedly be the basics for other bars, it’s quite rare here... after all, everyone knows that if you want to come to the Hog’s Head Pub, the first thing you need to do is bring your own utensils.

When Kael walked in, there were already quite a few people there, besides those foreign faces, there were quite a few familiar ones too.

For example, Dugald McPhail, who had written to him before, Professor Rockneil of Beauxbatons, and the professors from Hogwarts... everyone came except for Snape and Hagrid.

Additionally, the owners of the Three Broomsticks, Honeyduke’s Sweet Shop, and Zonko’s Joke Shop were also here, having closed their shops to gather in this small bar.

Upon seeing Dumbledore, everyone stood up and inevitably noticed Kael beside him.

Some subconsciously looked at Kael’s forehead, then showed incredulous expressions.

They thought the person Dumbledore brought would be Harry Potter, but the person in front of them had no scar on his forehead, clearly not that famous Savior.

But those who knew Kael didn’t find it strange at all.

”It’s been a while, kid,” McPhail walked over warmly, ”I hope my letter didn’t trouble you too much.

”When I got your reply, someone reminded me that I shouldn’t drag you into something so dangerous, and I realized they were right.”

”It’s alright, Mr. McPhail,” Kael said, ”Since the night I saw You-Know-Who, staying out of it was no longer possible, so it’s not a matter of being dragged in.”

”So you really saw him?” McPhail asked, ”Saw him with your own eyes?”

”That’s right,” Kael said, and at the same time, everyone in the bar turned to look at him, staring intently.

Kael’s expression remained unchanged, as he continued, ”His appearance is too distinctive, I think it would be difficult for anyone to mistake him.”

Someone wanted to ask more, but Professor McGonagall timely stepped in to divert the topic.

”Alright, Dugald, I think we should save these words for later,” she pulled Kael aside, ”We have plenty of time.”

”Alright, as you say,” McPhail sat back at his place, looked toward the bar, ”Excuse me, could I have a bottle of cherry soda?”

”Two Galleons,” the owner of the Hog’s Head Pub casually tossed a red bottle but made no move to send it over.

However, McPhail didn’t mind, he twitched his finger, and the bottle on the bar slowly floated over.

”A bit pricey... but it doesn’t matter, Albus pays.”

”Of course, that’s only right,” Dumbledore said, ”But the matter later is important, I hope everyone can stay as sober as possible, and don’t order too strong drinks.”

After a while, almost reaching seven o’clock, when Professor Marchbank trembled into the bar, the door was also closed.

A golden light appeared at the door handle, hanging there like a lock, then a ripple flashed across the wall, making the whole room seem wrapped in a large soap bubble.

Kael guessed it must be some kind of protective magic.

”Very well, everyone is here,” Dumbledore said.

Others put down their cups and turned their gaze over.

”I suppose everyone already knows, about Voldemort’s resurrection.”

Dumbledore looked solemn, ”I must tell you all, it’s true.

Just two months ago, I personally confronted Voldemort, and I am certain he wasn’t someone disguised as him but the real Voldemort. He has indeed returned.”

Then Kael made some supplements, roughly about what happened before Dumbledore arrived, and what he heard from Harry about Voldemort’s resurrection process.

A hum of discussion spread through the bar, even though they knew the answer before coming, some still voiced the doubts in their hearts at this moment.

This is normal, after all, even in the magic realm, there’s never been talk of a wizard being able to resurrect, at most, they turn into ghosts.

To this, Dumbledore didn’t immediately resolve their doubts but pressed his wand to his head, pulling out a shiny, ribbon-like thing.

Hearsay never has the persuasive power of firsthand sight, so he decided to let everyone see his memory.

Dumbledore put his memory into a prepared Pensieve and tapped the engraved Magic Text on its edge with his wand.

In the next second, a green light appeared out of nowhere in the bar.

Everyone was startled by the sudden Killing Curse, a few timid ones even sat directly on the ground.

But more soon realized, this wasn’t a real Killing Curse, but Dumbledore’s memory.

This way of closely viewing a memory was identical to the opera room at Nicolas’ house.

Everyone quieted down, earnestly watching the scene before them, even Kael watched with keen interest.

Initially, both he and Harry were sent to the mountain’s foot by Dumbledore, so they didn’t know what happened up there.

In the picture, most of the charms Dumbledore used he had seen before, he could even say he was very familiar with them.

Clearly the same charm, but cast by Dumbledore, it looked completely different.

A Levitating Spell capable of digging out half a mountainside... Transfiguration Spell turning rocks and trees into giants... Reductor Curse turning countless daggers to dust...

This battle opened Kael’s eyes, also letting him see more different combat styles.

As for those Death Eaters around, sorry, they weren’t in Dumbledore’s memory, only occasionally a bit of their shadow appeared in a frame.

Until at last, Voldemort was whipped by a stone whip, flying backward dejectedly, lying weak on the ground, while Dumbledore was bit on the arm by a fiery giant snake.

At this point, the image vanished.

The bar was quiet enough to hear a pin drop; everyone was shocked at the might of Dumbledore and Voldemort and simultaneously relieved that one of them stood on their side.

”That’s how things are.”

After pausing for a few minutes, Dumbledore continued, ”I know many hold on to a bit of luck, thinking Voldemort just resurrected and must be very weak, but as you saw just now, that is not the case.

”He remains powerful, just as he was ten years ago.”

Although it was hard to believe, the facts lay before them, and they could only accept them.

”Albus, what should we do,” someone asked, ”Declare war openly? Before he fully regroups the Death Eaters.”

”That’s difficult,” Dumbledore shook his head, ”I know Voldemort, he won’t give us that chance.

”So we must make other preparations... for the impending war.” As he said this, he instinctively glanced at Kael.

However, Kael was reminiscing over the details of Dumbledore’s fight with Voldemort at the time, and didn’t notice.

”Speak, Albus,” McPhail was the first to stand up and express his support, ”I will fully cooperate with you.”

”And me...”

”Me too!”

People stood up one after another.

”I’d like to ask everyone to look for the movements of the Death Eaters and to enlist more allies for us.”

Dumbledore earnestly said, ”I’m sure Voldemort won’t stay quiet for long after this resurrection, and what we can do is to detect it beforehand and shatter his every scheme.”
