Chapter 282: Chapter 280: Conflict and Snape’s Odd Behavior

It’s hard for anyone who comes to Honeydukes to leave empty-handed.

Kael and the others left Honeydukes with their pockets bulging after buying a huge pile of candies.

The group continued down the main road and arrived at the Three Broomsticks Inn, where they ordered a Butterbeer.

Fred and George kept their promise and paid for Kael...

Although Kael was mainly concerned about something else, Fred and George wouldn’t engage, claiming they weren’t ready yet.

Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick were also at the Three Broomsticks, having a pleasant chat with Ms. Rosmerta.

Professor McGonagall had a small cup of Violet Water in front of her, while Professor Flitwick had a cherry syrup soda with ice and an umbrella.

Although they didn’t notice Kael and his friends, being around professors was always a bit awkward.

Fred and George kept sneaking glances at Professor McGonagall... or maybe they were looking at Ms. Rosmerta.

The bar owner, with her striking figure and appearance, was well-known among the Hogwarts students.

After hastily finishing their Butterbeer, the group returned to the street.

They also went to Gladrags Wizardwear, helping Cho pick out a thick cloak with white fur trim.

Most of the time, it was Cho and Conna making the selections, while Kael and the others just nodded when asked.

Cedric tried to help, but his suggestions made even Fred and George shake their heads, let alone Cho.

Although Cho is a Seeker, you can’t just keep recommending pure gold cloaks to her...

Apart from the eye-catching color issue, the cloak was still an adult size, and Cho looked like a walking Golden Snitch when wearing it.

From then on, Cedric was stripped of his speaking rights, a decision that everyone unanimously agreed on.

As they passed Madam Puddifoot’s Tea House, they saw Harris inside through the window... chatting merrily with a pretty girl with chestnut long hair.

”Oh... I finally understand why Harris ran here so early.” Cedric said in a low voice.

”Makes sense.” Kael laughed: ”This is indeed more important than being the captain of a championship team.”

Madam Puddifoot’s Tea House is a dating haven where almost all young couples from Hogwarts would go.

The relationship between Harris and the girl didn’t need much explanation.

”Oh, I remember now...”

At this, Cho suddenly said, ”That’s Liv Yasina, the Ravenclaw Prefect, and a seventh-year student as well.

No wonder she looked familiar, she changed her clothes today and did her hair.”

They squeezed by the window to watch for a while, and Fred and George suggested going inside pretending to be a coincidence or something.

But Conna and Cho firmly opposed.

”Trust me...” Cho said seriously, ”If you go in and disturb them now, when the Quidditch match comes, Harris will definitely play your head as a goal post.

Do you think your head is harder, or the Quaffle is harder!”

”Don’t worry, I’m here.” Kael patted his chest righteously, ”I’ll keep passing to him...”

”And me...” Cedric murmured softly.

”The Quaffle’s a bit harder...” Fred chuckled awkwardly, ”Hey, guys, I’m just joking.”

”And, Mr. Digory, don’t forget you’re not supposed to be talking now...”

George shot a sidelong glance at Cedric, ”What does a Seeker have to do with this, as if you’d even touch the Quaffle.”

Cedric pursed his lips, remaining silent.

By noon, they returned to Hogwarts.

Although there were places to eat in the village, the taste was not as good as in the castle.

Most importantly, you had to spend money...

By morning’s end, the ”visiting day” novelty had worn off, so they discussed returning to Hogwarts early.

There were far fewer people in the Auditorium than usual, and it was especially quiet, though the quiet had a slightly unusual feel.

Kael sensed a thick tension in the Auditorium as soon as he walked in.

It was Gryffindor and Slytherin, even though separated by two tables, they were glaring at each other.

”What happened this morning...” Cho whispered, ”I feel like they’re about to fight any moment.”

”No idea.” Fred shook his head.

”Let’s go find out.”

The two quickly ran to the Gryffindor long table to find their good friend Lee Jordan.

Because most people had gone to Hogsmeade, there were plenty of empty spots at each long table, and others didn’t care about house questions, sitting wherever there was a free spot.

Before long, Fred and George returned.

”Oh, we really shouldn’t have gone to Hogsmeade!”

Fred said regretfully, ”I can’t believe we missed out on so much happening.”

”Get to the point...” Cho said impatiently, ”What happened exactly!”

”Our team and Slytherin had a fight at the Quidditch Pitch.” George explained, ”Because of that Malfoy.”

”The Slytherin second-year student?”

”Right.” Fred nodded, ”His father donated seven Nimbus 2001s to the school, getting him into the team.”

”Solving problems with Galleons, that is so their family style.”

George looked in the direction of Slytherin, even now they were holding those brand new, shiny Nimbus 2001s.

”I watched Malfoy’s training...” he said solemnly, ”He flies pretty average. If it weren’t for those brooms, he definitely wouldn’t have made the team.”

”What happened next?” Cedric asked,

”Malfoy said some... really harsh words,” Fred said, ”then both sides started fighting.”

”You wouldn’t believe it...” George suddenly laughed, ”Our little brother Ron, he really stole the show this time, making Malfoy vomit slugs all morning!”

Cho and Conna’s faces suddenly turned sour, clearly, this news was a bit too shocking for them.

Cedric’s eyes widened as well.

”When we first got the news, we were just like you...” Fred laughed, ”completely stunned.”

”We even thought there was another Ron in school...”

”Didn’t expect it really was our brother!”

”Though he also got hit by a similar spell and was sent to the Hospital Wing, his actions definitely deserve praise.”

”We decided to share some of the candies we bought from Hogsmeade with him.”

Kael scanned the Auditorium.

Sure enough, Harry, Hermione, Ron, and Malfoy were all absent.

”So what was the outcome, what did the professors say?”

”That’s what we find strangest.”

George mused, rubbing his chin, ”Lee Jordan told us the one who handled it was Professor Snape, and we initially thought he’d severely punish Gryffindor... dock a hundred points, and give Ron detention.”

”But he didn’t do that.” Fred said, ”Instead, Malfoy got detention!”

”What?”

The news was so surprising that even Conna found it hard to believe.

”We asked three people, it really is that way.”

Fred said quietly, ”What do you all think is up with Snape recently?”

”Maybe he’s trying to make up for past mistakes.” Kael said casually.

”What?” The others didn’t quite understand what that meant.

”Nothing.” Kael shook his head, ”I was joking, don’t worry about it.”
