Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 953: Give Her More Warmth

“But this matter has nothing to do with Rushuang and You Xi. They don’t want it either, so just forget about it and don’t talk about them anymore. They’re doing well now and it’s not like they lack anything. Qingsi is our priority. She’s the most important…”

The old man trembled and said, “Qingsi looked just like your mother when she was young…”

“Do you want to see her? She’s probably not asleep yet. I’ll call her.”

The old man quickly reached out and stopped him. “No, no, no, don’t call her. Don’t call her…from the looks of it, she’s doesn’t look okay yet and she has a neck injury too. Let her have a good rest, have a good rest… There’s still time, there’s still time…”

Xia Anlan remarked, “She was even worried that you wouldn’t like her.”

“How can I not like her? She’s my granddaughter. Sigh… I was too worried about your mother today… My tone may have been a little harsh when we spoke… I’ll change it later…”

“Qingsi is a very sensitive child after all that happened to her in the past. I hope that you’ll be warmer toward her in the future.”

The old man nodded again and again, “I know… I know… I’m her grandfather, how can I…I was too confused before. I truly believed that Little Ai was dead and I always had the feeling that Little Ai could not possibly be alive. But I forgot that they would not have looked so similar if there were not related by blood.”

“Dad, our family finally has its own children. In the future, we don’t need to be too close with children from other families.”

The old man paused and nodded. “I understand… I may be old, but I’m not senile yet…”

He understood what Xia Anlan meant to say. Qingsi would be sad if he treated You Xi better in front of Qingsi.

However, those feelings throughout the years were not going to disappear instantly.

He simply needed to restrain himself.

“It’s late, go to bed. I’ll bring Qingsi to the hospital again tomorrow and let Qingsi talk to mom.”

The old man stood up. “Sigh, I’m worried I can’t sleep tonight because of excitement!”

Xia Anlan helped the old man back to his room and passed by Yan Qingsi’s room. His lips curled up—home finally felt like home!

…

Yue Tingfeng was feeling very anxious that night. He was going to head over to the Xia home tomorrow. What should he buy for them? What should he wear? What was the first thing he should say?

He tossed and turned on the bed and laid down sideways. It was ten o’clock, but he still could not sleep.

Yue Tingfeng sat up. He should not be wasting time like that. He had to make advance preparations.

Yue Tingfeng called Mrs. Yue.

“Hello, Son, have you met up with Qingsi yet?”

Yue Tingfeng answered, “No, not yet. Qingsi asked me to visit the Xia home tomorrow. Her uncle is at home. Mom…tell me, I… What should I wear to show my sincerity? What gifts should I get? Oh, oh, oh.”

Mrs. Yue was catching up with Weibo’s trending searches. The topics were rather lively recently and she was happily munching away on some sunflower seeds. She asked, “Son, are you really asking me that?”

“Yeah, you’re my mother, and you’re older too. You know these things better than me!”

Mrs. Yue sighed. “Well, you asked the wrong person. Why would I even know all that?”

Yue Tingfeng retorted anxiously, “What do you mean you don’t know all that? Shouldn’t old people like you know these things?”

Mrs. Yue roared unhappily, “You’re the old one here. You’re the old one…don’t you know that I know nothing? You always complain that I’m old and brainless.”
