Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 951: I’ll Definitely Marry You

Yan Qingsi recalled that Xia Anlan had mentioned earlier today about him properly evaluating Yue Tingfeng when they meet up later. She would have to make sure Yue Tingfeng leaves a good first impression.

It was past visiting hours. He would need to come back again tomorrow. It would be impossible to leave a good impression without putting everything on the line, especially when meeting someone as experienced as Xia Anlan!

Yue Tingfeng was dumbfounded as he almost forgot. ‘F*ck.’ he thought to himself. He was in such a hurry to see her that he almost forgot about this. If he had rushed over right now, forget about getting her back, he might even lose the chance to see her in the future.

Yue Tingfeng asked, “Qingsi, have you confirmed your relationship with the Xia family?”

Yan Qingsi nodded. “Yes, the DNA test results are out. My mother was the Xia family’s daughter. The necklace she wore had also been identified. It was a gift my Grandma gave to her for her fifth birthday.”

Yue Tingfeng suddenly felt a great amount of pressure.

Yan Qingsi waited in silence for a while before asking him, “Why are you so quiet?”

Yue Tingfeng heaved a sigh. “Sigh, I’m feeling quite pressured. What should I do?”

“You’re scared?”

“Of course not. If I can’t even overcome such a small obstacle in order to marry my wife, I should just give up and scram. Just you wait, I’ll make sure to satisfy our uncle tomorrow.”

“Okay, I’ll wait for you tomorrow.”

“Wait for me. I’ve promised you that I’ll definitely marry you.”

Yan Qingsi’s lips curled upwards and subconsciously squinted her eyes.

…

It was after nine in the evening when Grandpa Xia finally came home from the hospital. He noticed the study’s lights were still on as he passed by and decided to knock on the door. “Anlan, why are you still up?”

“Dad, you’re home. I still have some work to do. I’ll go to bed in a while.”

Grandpa Xia was relieved. “Your mother’s condition is stable. The doctor said…after you visited her with that child and said those words, it helped her condition to improve greatly. Rushuang is a filial child. She forbade me from continuing to take care of your mother and insisted that I come home while she stays there to watch over her. We’ve troubled her too much this time.”

Xia Anlan looked unperturbed under the lights and did not reply.

Grandpa Xia asked, “I saw that Rushuang was in quite a bad mood. Although she said nothing, I can tell that she’s very sad. Did you have any conflicts with her? All these years she had wanted to be closer to you, her brother. No matter what, she’s still your sister so don’t treat her so coldly.”

Xia Anlan replied coldly, “The only person I’ve ever considered as my sister is Little Ai.”

“Sigh, if not for Rushuang your mother would have had it worse when your sister had died. No matter what, throughout these years she had contributed quite a bit to our Xia family. We—”

Xia Anlan interrupted him. “But our Xia family had never mistreated her right? Ever since she left the orphanage, she had been living luxuriously with our Xia family for over twenty years. She then subsequently married into the You family, rising to the top echelons overnight. I don’t think she should be unsatisfied at all.”

‘”But she’s after al—”

Xia Anlan interrupted again and said, “Dad, I don’t want to talk about her. There’s something I need to tell you now.”

“Go ahead.”

Xia Anlan looked straight into Grandpa Xia’s eyes. “Qingsi is your biological granddaughter. Little Ai didn’t die back then.”

Grandpa Xia froze. “But Little Ai, she’s clearly…”

Xia Anlan took out the lab report. “This is a DNA comparison between Qingsi and me. Although we’re not directly related, with more than 90% similarity this can be confirmed that we’re related by blood. I think apart from Little Ai’s child, I shouldn’t have any other close relatives right?”
