Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 787: If I Cannot Provide Her With Happiness, Then I Would Rather Not Have Her at All

“And then, the Ye family will fall in one swoop…” Yue Tingfeng said casually, still smiling as though he were talking about something very normal, no signs of pressure in his tone.

You Yi did not reply. He looked at Yue Tingfeng silently.

He smiled after a while. “Good. Qingsi wasn’t blind after all if you’re able to say something like this,” he said.

You Yi liked feisty, capable and courageous young people. His nephew was a lost cause.

Yue Tingfeng was far better than You Xi. He was so young, and yet he upheld the entire Yue family. Perhaps he could truly bring Qingsi happiness.

Yue Tingfeng lifted his chin. “If I were really a useless sc*mbag, I would not have courted her in the first place,” he said pridefully. “If I cannot give her happiness, if I cannot protect her, then I would rather not have her at all.”

If he really could not protect Yan Qingsi, then he would become stronger and protect her then.

However, before he became stronger, he would also not let any other man go near Yan Qingsi.

You Yi liked Yue Tingfeng even more now. “Good for you. I won’t let the Ye family off so easily. Just make her happy. Also, I never intended to let Ye Weiguang go. I’d intended to take action after two days. I just never expected you to act so quickly.”

You Yi was not all words and no action—he did give his word that he would protect Yan Qingsi. He had quickly gone back that day, and he had been worried that the Ye family would become suspicious when Ye Weiguang had been rendered incapacitated on that very day. That was why he delayed his plans for two days.

Yet You Yi had never imagined that the next time he went to Luo city to get back at Ye Weiguang, he had already suffered—and he had suffered terribly.

You Yi had roughly guessed that it was the handiwork of Yue Tingfeng when reading about the incident from the online tabloids.

It was pretty much perfect though. Even if Ye Jiangong had any suspicions, he did not have any proof, at least.

Yue Tingfeng laughed. “It isn’t because I acted fast. I was scared that Ye Weiguang would do something to Qingsi if I was slow. He’s stupid, but he’s also vengeful. He doesn’t dare to touch you, so he’ll take it all out on Qingsi. Should I have waited around for him to touch Qingsi by not making my move first then ?”

Yue Tingfeng was not afraid of the Ye family. He would rather kill Ye Weiguang and destroy the relations they have with the Ye family than have Yan Qingsi be put in danger.

You Yi nodded his head. “Very good…”

…

On another side, Helan Fangnian scoured the entire hotel, checking for any signs of something. He even asked the hotel staff in charge of the decorations as well as some company staff, but no one found anything amiss.

Helan Fangnian himself did not find anything suspicious. Doubt sank in his heart. Did his mother truly not do anything at all?

However, if she had not done anything, why would she say something like that?

Panic spiked in Helan Fangnian. He was worried that his mother had planned something that would really hurt Mrs. Yue—something ridiculous.

Helan Xiuse saw all this. “Mom, Brother keeps looking. He’s asking everywhere,” she whispered to Mrs. Helan.

Mrs. Helan was sipping on a glass of wine. She emitted a burst of mirthless laughter. “Let him look…”

“Mom, what if he does find—”

“He won’t. He can’t get answers to his questions. How could anyone know the present I’m planning to give Su Ningmei when you can’t even ask about it? Hmph. He is complete trash. I’ve raised him since he was young, and all he has done is throw his life away for a woman.” Mrs. Helan suddenly thought of Yan Qingsi. All she felt was that Helan Fangnian turned out this way was only because he was completely bewitched by that Yan Qingsi.

Helan Xiuse bit on her lip. “Brother is very capable, Mom. Your words… It’ll make him sad…”
