Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 786: The Second Elder of the You family

The Helans’ family business was not doing very well lately because they had lost the support of the Yues. Originally, Mr. Helan wanted to reestablish relations with the Yues during this charity dinner. However, he never anticipated that the matron of the Yue family had no intention of sparing him any dignity. He suddenly loathed his wife; she really was someone who stirred up drama from nothing.

He hoped that she was sincere when she said that she would give Mrs. Yue a surprise today.

If the Yue family was a lost cause, Mr. Helan hoped to network with some of the other wealthy and affluent people during the dinner. It would be useful for business in the future.

He immediately felt that You Yi was a good start from the first glance. He could not wait to know who he really was.

“This is the second elder of the You family, from Hai City, You Yi,” Ye Jiangong said, wanting to prove his capabilities in front of Mr. Helan. “Mr. You.”

Mr. Helan blinked. “Mr. You, welcome, welcome… My name is Helan Mingde. It’s my pleasure to meet you, Mr. You. This is my name card.”

Of course, he knew about the You family of Hai City. They are an extremely prominent family in Hai City. If he could establish relations with the Yous, then his business in the south would flourish.

However…

You Yi was not a businessman like the rest of them. He felt no obligation to entertain such small talk. He did not care, and he could not be moved even if someone licked his boots.

“You there, come with me,” he said towards Yue Tingfeng, frowning as if he did not see the name card Mr. Helan thrust towards him. “I’ve something to ask you.”

Yue Tingfeng clenched his teeth. He did not stoop to his kind. “Let’s go then, Mr. You,” he said.

He looked at Yan Qingsi, who escorted Mrs. Yue away to rest by the side.

Mr. Helan’s arms hung awkwardly in midair, name card between his fingers. You Yi did not even cast a side-glance; it was as if he was nothing but a street performer.

Mr. Helan was also someone well-versed in the business world, and he was an expert at navigating social situations. He kept the name card and smiled. “Mr. Ye, this Mr. You…” he said. “He really has a temper!”

“Mr. You’s temper has always been like this,” Ye Jiangong said. “The You family are a somewhat uncivilized lot. Even when they’re talking to me, they talk as if I am nothing, or they take jabs at me, or they don’t talk at all! It’s good that you understand his temper now. For someone who is a You, it’s normal to have a short temper.”

“You’re right. It’s natural for a You to have some pride. From what I hear, you have quite an unusual relationship with the Yous. If you could, perhaps you could introduce me to the You family, Mr. Ye. I’d be forever in your debt.”

Ye Jiangong waved his hand. “Oh, it’s nothing… My nephew is good friends with the young master of the You family. That’s why our families have a pretty amicable relationship between us. I’ll definitely help to introduce you to them when the opportunity arises, Mr. Helan.”

“I thank you in advance, Mr. Ye. Come, let’s sit over there.”

…

“Are you responsible for what happened to Ye Weiguang?” You Yi asked immediately as the two came to a quiet place.

Yue Tingfeng acted as if he did not know anything. “What are you talking about, Mr. You? I don’t understand.”

“Don’t play dumb with me,” You Yi said, tone low. “The accident that befell Ye Weiguang that very night—it’s too coincidental. Weren’t you a little too rash in acting? Ye Jiangong has already started to be suspicious. If he really starts to investigate, he would eventually find clues…and then…”
