Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 689: I Made Him Suffer, I Am Such a Monster

“You – you—” Ye Shaoguang stuttered.

Yue Tingfeng held Yan Qingsi’s hand. “We have errands to run. We’re leaving first. I hope you have a nice dinner.”

A nice dinner? He wanted to murder someone right now. His appetite was crushed.

Yan Qingsi, with a small smile on her face, left with Yue Tingfeng.

Ye Shaoguang felt like he had not recovered from the three-fold attack even after they all left. He could not calm down. He watched the back of Ji Mianmian as she hopped and skipped away, shoulder to shoulder with Lil Xu. His fingers curled into fists.

She thought that he had a girlfriend, and she was… happy.

“They… Are they really your friends?” the girl asked.

Ye Shaoguang came back to his senses. His mouth opened. Should he shake his head, or nod?

Were they friends? Obviously not!

Were they enemies? Not really.

Ye Shaoguang was unable to simply answer her, so he smiled. “Is there anything else you – you—”

Ye Shaoguang wanted to ask if she had anything else she wanted to eat, but he… he had no appetite. Anger burned in his chest. He could not go on like this.

Ye Shaoguang huffed his hands on the table. “I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can dine with you tonight,” he said. “I hope you understand…”

The girl shook her head, smiling. “It’s all right. I’ve been in your way for a very long time anyway. This time… thank goodness I met you. I don’t know what I’d do otherwise.”

Derision flashed in Ye Shaoguang’s eyes. “We’re… just helping each other out. No need to thank me.”

This girl was the person his uncle wanted to matchmake him with— the flower of the Jin family, Jin Miaoer.

Ye Shaoguang had already intended to mess up the matchmaking and had plenty of plans in mind. He had never thought that Jin Miaoer had the same intentions as he did.

She already had a lover, but he was a regular commoner. Her parents had not approved, so they arranged this date. It was a similar circumstance to Ye Shaoguang’s.

The two then decided that they would temporarily pretend to be satisfied with the matchmaking to ward off suspicion from their families. To them, this would grant them some measure of freedom in their daily lives.

However, Ye Shaoguang had never imagined that Hai city was so small— that he would run into an adversary!

A sense of helplessness had sunk into Ye Shaoguang from the start of the incident till now. He had no strength to even kill someone. Whenever he thought of Ji Mianmian’s expression, the anger in his heart burned till smoke almost escaped from his orifices.

Ye Shaoguang stood up. “I’ll send you home,” he said.

Jin Miaoer shook her head. “It’s all right. I have something to do since I’m outside already.”

Ye Shaoguang surmised that she was going to meet up with her boyfriend. He nodded. “Then… I’ll take my leave first,” he said.

…

Yan Qingsi let Lil Xu get the car first. She quickly asked Ji Mianmian.

“Mianmian, are you really that happy seeing Ye Shaoguang with a girlfriend?”

Ji Mianmian nodded her head vigorously. “I’m happy. Of course, I’m happy! I’m so happy that it’s like I’ve found a rainbow. I’m finally free! Miss, did you know that because of what happened, I’ve always… I’ve felt like I made him suffer. Why am I such a monster? I couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep…”

Yan Qingsi rubbed her nose. Could not eat? She had eaten more than before during that last meal.

Lil Xu had even said that she would sleep like a log at night and could not wake up in the morning.

Ji Mianmian tugged on Yan Qingsi’s hand. “I’m happy, yes, but I’m also angry,” she said. “Damn! I almost became a mistress. How embarrassing! Luckily… I saw his girlfriend today, otherwise, I’d be used by that b*stard!”
