Ferocious Boss: Hubby, Let’s Get Married

Chapter 659: The Necklace with Hidden Secret

“What happened to you? Did someone bully you?”

“No, I was standing by the window smoking… then I accidentally… fell …”

“How are you so careless? Sigh… where’s your necklace?”

“Left… left it at home. Didn’t bring it out.”

“Such an important item and you leave it at home. Go put it back on when you get back.”

“I under… understand…”

Ye Shaoguang squinted at him, turned around, and left.

Thus, there was indeed a secret behind the necklace.

…

It was already very late when Yan Qingsi returned to the hotel. The film crew did not know what happened to her in that period. They thought she was just arrogant and went home without telling anyone.

There was nobody at the hotel. Ji Mianmian had not returned and Lil’ Xu went out searching for her. Yan Qingsi wanted to give a call to Ji Mianmian, only to remember that she lost her phone.

Yan Qingsi gripped the necklace tightly, to the point of hurting her hand. For the first time, she felt that the hotel’s lobby was so spacious that it felt empty, and the emptiness was making her anxious.

Yan Qingsi suddenly missed Yue Tingfeng greatly. If he was here at this moment, she would not have felt that uneasy.

Sitting on the bed, Yan Qingsi opened her palm. The half ginkgo leaf in her palm gave off a dim glow under the light.

A necklace in the shape of a ginkgo leaf was not uncommon, but many years ago, it was a rarity.

Yan Qingsi tried hard to recall her mother’s necklace.

She was not entirely sure if the pendant from both necklaces could form a complete leaf, but… she was at least 80 percent sure that they were related. She had to figure out if her mother had any ties to the You family.

One mystery solved, just to stumble across a bigger mystery.

For the first time, Yan Qingsi was at a loss. She could not visualize the path ahead.

The room was very quiet, devoid of humans. Yan Qingsi was nervous.

Yan Qingsi went outside, but she did not know where to go, nor what to do. She just knew that she could not be alone.

Yan Qingsi walked to the elevator and waited for the elevator to arrive. Eventually, the doors opened, and out came Song Qingyan.

They were both flabbergasted when they saw each other.

Song Qingyan was a person that paid great attention to detail. He noticed Yan Qingsi being out of sorts and asked, “You… what happened? You don’t seem so well?”

Yan Qingsi did not answer. She looked at the phone in Song Qingyan’s hand and asked, “Can you lend me your phone? My phone… is gone…”

Song Qingyan unlocked his phone and passed it to her. Yan Qingsi thanked him and took the phone.

She called Ji Mianmian, but it did not go through. She then called Lil’ Xu, telling him that she was already back in the hotel and not to worry.

Then, Yan Qingsi said, “Lil’ Xu, head to the KTV and search for my phone. Try to see if you can find it. If you can’t find it, then get me a new one.”

Ending the call, Yan Qingsi lifted her head and saw Song Qingyan’s gentle gaze. She just realized that Song Qingyan’s eyes were very peaceful and clear. Those eyes did not belong to someone his age.

However, it did provide a strange sense of security.

Song Qingyan’s features were unlike other guys she saw around her who were abnormally good looking. Instead, he was handsome with a hint of apathy, as though he had no care for anyone or anything around him.

Yan Qingsi stared at him. Her anxiety slowly calmed down.

“Can I make a phone call?”
