Child of Destiny

After calming himself, Lawrence turned his eyes to the two most important changes that his current Status Window had undergone.

“Child of Poisons?” he mumbled while looking at the Transcendent Race that he had converted to.

After looking into it, he immediately realized that it must be a special variant of Transcendent Humans.

[Race]: Child of Poisons (Transcendent)

Historical Background:

Humans had improved and evolved through multiple methods.

Some had awakened their innate powers, which came from their ancient ancestors, while others had found a new path and followed through it.

Description:

After absorbing all kinds of toxins throughout the world and tempering the body with all their properties, they had gained immunity to all kinds of poisons, venoms, and all kinds of toxic substances.

Innate Trait:

Ten Thousand Toxin Body: Immune to all kinds of toxins and gained a huge boost in terms of physical properties.

Note: Could be evolved into the Perfected Divine Toxin Physique.

Toxic Enchantment: Whenever a toxic substance was consumed, a random buff would be generated depending on its properties.

Toxin Manipulation: Could control all kinds of toxins, even directly remove them from the bodies of those who have been affected.

Toxin Devourer: Whenever a new type of poison or venom was discovered, it could be consumed directly to improve one’s stats and add it to the Ten Thousand Toxin Body, further adjusting and improving it.

“Powerful!”

This was the only word that he could think of after seeing the innate traits of his Transcendent Race.

It might have quite a few hidden restrictions since its overall abilities revolved around poisons, venoms, and all kinds of toxins.

However, such restrictions could be ignored, especially when the overall strength of these abilities was already way beyond his imagination.

The toxin immunity alone was already too broken on its own. What more when the physical boosts were added to it?

Then there was the toxin enchantment, which would turn all kinds of toxins into enhancing potions once they became affected by them or after direct consumption.

These two abilities alone made him the bane of all the assassins or thieves who specialized in poisons.

He could already imagine how much of a nightmare he could become once faced with them, especially the ones from the Hydra Guild.

However, he did not get too conceited, as he was aware of the huge skill gap between him and the top experts from Powerhouse Guilds and large organizations.

Boa’s speed alone was more than enough to strike fear into him.

He understood his limits and knew that he would not be able to match such an opponent with his current abilities, even with the help of these newly improved transcendent abilities.

However, if it were just Cobra, who was highly reliant on his poison techniques, then Lawrence felt like he would have a decent chance during the fight.

There was also the toxin manipulation and toxin devourer under his innate traits, which would likely restrict most of Cobra’s abilities.

After a while, he also realized that there were quite a few hidden abilities that were not listed on the ability description of his race, especially when he compared it to the portion of the knowledge that he had already digested.

He could instinctively tell that this was not his peak, and there were still quite a lot that were waiting to be discovered.

He had to spend quite a lot of time discovering these things before he could even reach the full potential of this race.

He then proceeded to look at his class, but he unfortunately did not get anything much from it.

Aside from the most basic abilities of his Poison Master Class and a few of its special abilities, nothing much had changed.

“I guess I must explore this area a bit more in the future and find a way to unlock its evolution path to become the ‘Dark King,” he mumbled before setting it aside.

The other thing that was added to his status window was the secondary combat class that he had suddenly gained.

He had already heard about Secondary Combat Classes before, even looking for a way to gain one as well.

He had failed to find one that was suitable for him for quite a long time. But who would have thought that he would be able to find the perfect one this easily?

[Secondary Class]: Poison and Medicine King

Description:

Medicines and Poisons were just sides of the same coin.

Medicines, when used improperly, could turn into the most dangerous poisons.

Poisons, on the other hand, could become the best medicine when used in the right way.

Innate Trait:

Medical and Medicinal Knowledge (Identification Skill):

-Able to recognize all the usages of all kinds of herbs and other natural treasures at a glance.

-Could use the properties of a medical herb or a natural treasure to their fullest potential.

-Could turn medicine into poison.

Toxin Knowledge (Identification Skill):

-Able to recognize all kinds of toxins at a single glance.

-Could use all kinds of toxins to their fullest potential.

-Could turn poison into medicine.

Concoction Master (Passive Ability):

-Able to enter an extreme concentration state when concocting potions and pills.

-Had 30% chance to produce a higher-grade potion or pill than the one that was supposed to be concocted.

-Had 20% chance to gain extra effects when concocting potions and pills.

—————-

Seeing these abilities, Lawrence could not help but raise his brows, being a bit confused.

This was supposed to be a secondary combat class, yet he had never found any combat abilities in it aside from the fullest utilization of medicines and potions.

It was more like an auxiliary class for the production class rather than a second class.

However, he also realized that there was another panel below this description, which he immediately opened.

—————-

Combat Abilities:

-Enhanced all Poison and Medical Abilities by 100%.

Note: This percentage could rise depending on your understanding of the Ten Thousand Poison Tome.

-Turn any kind of Poisonous or Venomous Creatures into their tamed state under your presence.

-Could produce any kind of toxic solution with any kind of materials that you get your hands on, particularly plant-type ones.

—————-

Unfortunately, he still found these abilities a bit underwhelming. They were not as cool as Arthur’s Secondary Combat Class, the Dragon Cavalier Class, or the one that Gunner had called the Armament Grandmaster.

Aside from the 100% increase in his poison abilities, which could continuously improve depending on his understanding of the martial manual engraved in his head, the other two abilities felt a bit ‘weak’.

After recovering from his disappointment, he swiftly turned his attention to the other benefits that he had gotten.

From the other system notifications that he had yet to check, due to his entering the deep meditation state, there were also about the evolution of the ‘Gu’ residing within his body and the ‘Toxin Devi’ that he had acquired by chance.

Unfortunately, all he saw was that these two were entering a deep slumbering state due to the intense flood of toxin energies that had been absorbed by his body.

They were entering a hibernating state, which would help them digest all those powerful energies to their fullest potential.

Based on the system’s notification, it seemed they would need at least a month or two to fully digest those energies and complete their evolution.

This was based on the time within the game.

Regardless, it was still quite a long time, especially when he would most likely need their help for the challenges waiting for him once they escaped from this place.

“I can also choose to stay here and continue the training routines prepared by the original Dark King,” he mumbled before quickly adding. “Moreover, there are quite a lot of facilities here that I can use to further multiply the progress of my training.”

“At the same time, this will also force the Black Market to not hand me over to the Black Serpent Mafia in the real world if I said that I am still trapped here.”

He still remembered the words of Arthur and Tang Hyeon, who had reminded him not to disclose too much information to the other parties about this place.

This could also give Arthur and his family enough time to prepare the necessary arrangements in the real world.

Thinking about this, he became more confident that he would be able to buy Arthur and the others enough time to rescue him.

However, after a few moments, he could not help but furrow his brows and pursed his mouth. “Unfortunately, I still do not have any authority to control the entire dungeon.”

“Those guys will not be able to leave this place unless they have found a way to defeat those four Elite Corpses that the Dark King-… No-… Master has created.”

“Based on the memories that I have inherited, those four were the masterpieces that he had created to fight those ‘cursed beings’.”
