Child of Destiny

Shin steadily walked toward Samael and immediately greeted the latter. “What are you doing here? I seem to remember that you are already an official within the church. Getting any mission you want is not a problem.”

Samael broke away from his trance when he heard Shin. He turned at the latter and greeted him somewhat embarrassedly. “Vice Commander.”

Afte that, he turned back at the top-most part of the mission board and said. “It is not like that, Vice Commander. It just I find it odd that the church is offering a commission concerning the Aurora Continent.”

Hearing that, Shin slightly frowned his brows and followed the direction of Samael’s gaze. Looking over, he could not help but frown deeply as he saw the mission displayed in that spot.

Mission: Help the Storm Empire of the Aurora Continent ward off the forces of the dark.

Mission: Prevent the Demon Spawns from descending to the Atlas World.

The two missions immediately made Shin squint his eyes and mumbled to himself. “Is the situation on that side that serious?”

“For them to ask some assistance from the Awaken Continent, then it can only mean that the situation is much worse than I had thought,” he commented before turning to Samael. “Do you want to accept the mission?”

Samael thought for a moment, hesitating, before nodding. “The experts here are too powerful compared to me, so exploring the nearby regions while clashing with them will be hard for me.”

“I am lacking in terms of experience when compared to the rest of the team, especially when facing top-notch experts.”

“I can only do so much for the team with my current level. Even if I am constantly training with the big brothers within the team alongside my sister, the gap between my skills and theirs is a little too big, making it hard for me to gauge my current strength.”

“I am planning to head back to the Aurora Continent and join the ongoing war there, honing my skills and applying what I have learned from you and the others there.”

“I feel like it is more beneficial for me to try training against those at my current level before proceeding to the next level.”

He paused for a moment, trying to sense if Shin was against it, before proceeding. “Moreover, there are still those top-notch experts training in there, especially those from the huge guilds and other organizations. I can still challenge them there if I want to fight stronger opponents.”

“I think it is more appropriate for me to train that stage before going to the bigger one,” he added, seemingly trying to persuade Shin.

Shin paused for a moment, considering the words of Samael. Unlike them, who were already at the topmost part of the rankings, Samael was only a newbie within the competitive games.

He was not like Chaotic Luck, who was abnormally lucky and had been fighting alongside Shin and the others for quite a long time.

Even if training beside Shin and the others was good for Samael, he was still unable to fully grasp his strength and familiarize himself with his true abilities if he was being suppressed continuously by them.

Even if it could help Samael get used to the pressure, it could also make him a little ‘timid’ when facing similarly strong opponents.

There were always two sides when it came to everything. Their training could be both beneficial and detrimental depending on how the receiving end would see it. This was why applying pressure and being a little loose when it came to training was necessary to maintain the balance.

After considering it for a moment, Shin suddenly asked. “What about Huahua?”

Samael paused for a moment before sighing. “Huahua is a support-type player, it will help her grow more if she trains beside Big Sister Arielle. She can learn more that way.”

“Applying more pressure in training is more effective for her. Facing her fears will help her conquer them and her timid personality.”

“Moreover, she is already big enough to deal with this. I can’t always be by her side to protect her. She will grow much faster this way,” he added, filled with decisiveness.

Shin smiled behind his mask when he heard this before patting the latter’s shoulder. “Then you go and train there. You can leave the rest to us.”

He paused for a moment before suddenly adding with a joking tone. “But remember to attend our regular training session in our team’s virtual space. You can’t skip it.”

Hearing that, Samael was somewhat stunned at first because he did not expect Shin to let him go that easily. But the expression on his face suddenly turned bright, and he thanked the latter. “Thank you, Vice Commander!”

Shin chuckled when he saw that before waving his hand. “Go. Just go already and train properly there. As for the others, I will help you tell them about it.”

“Yes, Sir!” Samael gave Shin a salute unique to the Church of the Sun and Moon before quickly turning around and swiftly running toward the Archbishops’ Office to apply for the mission.

The fare for the airship was quite expensive even for the members of the Empyrean Talons. Fortunately, as a high-ranking paladin of the church, the fare would be provided by the church. It would be counted as a special fund, especially when he would be bringing an elite unit of paladins, clerics, and priests along with him.

Meanwhile, Shin walked out of the church, thinking about what to do next.

But after a quick consideration, he decided to take a quick break from the game and logged in to their virtual space, planning to study the matches of their rivals and create a specific strategy targeting their respective weaknesses.

Since their next opponents would most likely be much stronger compared to their previous opponents, he wanted to study them a little more and familiarized himself with their respective styles.

In the meantime, Leonard just finished his training in the real world.

After dealing with the things that he needed to do within the game, he found himself quite free. Not knowing what to do for the time being, he decided to log out of the game for a moment and train a little more.

After training within the room adjacent to Shin’s and taking advantage of the huge gathering array set up there, he felt that the progress of his martial arts was advancing quite well.

Not knowing where his master was, he was quite in a dilemma how to advance further.

He had already made quite a decent progress when it came to training his body, especially after training in both the ‘Supreme Blood Sutra’ and ‘Black Beast Refinement Method’. His body had already reached the level where he was not afraid of getting hit by an ordinary bullet.

It could still wound them if he were shot by a gun, but he was confident that he would not receive any fatal wound from it. Then if he added his Internal Qi in the process to further reinforce his defensive capabilities, his body would become even more powerful.

But it would be a little different if it were a specialized bullet meant to deal against Martial Artists and Mentalists.

If he was in the ancient times, then he could be considered as a Body Refiner, who focused on training the body while using his internal energy as a secondary supplement for it.

If there was something he was confident in surpassing Shin and Arthur, then he must say that the toughness of his body was much more powerful than theirs.

Arthur might have the Draconic Body Technique or something similar, which had very strong defensive capabilities and powerful strength. But Leonard’s method focused more on training the body, which was why he had a stronger physique than the other.

At this moment, he felt like hitting a wall. He was in a bottleneck, where he did not know how to proceed.

He was still not familiar with the powers that he had within his body. The inheritance that he had gotten from the Thunder Lord was one thing, but his process in his other two signature techniques were now in a stage where he did not know how to advance.

Then there were also the hereditary memories that he had awakened after accepting the inheritance of the Thunder Lord, the memories hidden deep in his bloodline.

He knew how to train them after seeing them from his memories, but he did not fully understand their concepts, which made it a little harder for him to advance.

“Should I ask Sir Nathan for help and consult them about my situation?” he mumbled as he found this a little troublesome.

From what he had learned, his hereditary memories were somewhat similar to the Bloodline Powers that the Springfield Family had.

As the descendants of the Golden Sun Dragon, their genes hid the secret methods of the dragons and records about how to awaken them.

While he was thinking about this problem, a thunderous voice suddenly rang inside his head, distracting his thoughts.

“So, you are the brat from the Asad Tribe that the Dragon King has mentioned, huh? But you seem weak as hell.”

Raising his head, Leonard swiftly raised his guard and instinctively got ready for the battle. But he could not help but pause when he saw a tall and muscular man watching him from under the nearby tree.

Given the primitive set of clothes that the other party had, Leonard could not help but mumble to himself. “A barbarian?”

There seemed to be a twitch from the expression of the other side, but they suppressed it with the best of their abilities.

He then walked out from the shades of the trees and revealed himself fully.

The first thing that Leonard noticed was the noticeable color of the latter’s hair as well as their pupils – they were deep crimson, seemingly resembling the color of the blood.

Ignoring the foolish expression that Leonard was making, Scar, the representative that the Asad Tribe had sent into the Soaring Continent, smirked. “Brat, let me see if you are worthy to carry the blood of a True Warrior.”
