Reborn As Noble

Meanwhile, nearby...

Javier walked away from the public restroom, patting his stomach with a relieved sigh.

”Ahhh~ man... now I feel relieved.”

He shook his head, still rubbing his belly.

But damn, I nearly pooped my pants. If that had happened, I’m sure Buddy wouldn’t let me anywhere near him, let alone ride him.

He walked casually, glancing around in his beggar disguise, watching the elven children running and laughing as they played between the stalls and the road.

”Heh~” A soft smile spread across his face as he took in the peaceful scene.

This is nice. This is how it should be. Peaceful mornings, kids playing, people going about their lives without fear, shared knowledge, economy, and trade flowing smoothly between allies.

He slowed his pace, his eyes soft as he watched a group of children chase each other around the market stalls.

I wish no war would ever come to Armand or any of our allies. Where everyone could just live happily, work, eat, and enjoy their lives in peace. No conflict, no bloodshed. That’s all I want.

If only the human nations would stop going to war...

But those nobles... they still want to fight over shadows of power, greed, expansion, land, and wealth. They can’t see beyond their own ambition. They never learn. No matter how many times peace is offered, they always choose conflict.

He sighed, shaking his head.

The civil war has already started in the Human Nation. The Halfling Nation has been in civil war for years. Even the Dwarven Nation is on the brink of war after their king, once Father’s closest friend, decided to cut ties with us and align himself with King Klimar.

They forgot how Armand saved them from being attacked by both the Human Nation and the Halfling Kingdom from both sides. If I hadn’t gone there and saved them, stopped the Celestial, and extracted it from Gumarak’s body, they wouldn’t even be standing today.

And Gumarak’s daughter... what was her name again?

Ah... Ferine.

Well... no use dwelling on the past.

She chose Klimar’s son over me. That’s her choice.

Past is past. There’s no point in holding onto it.

He shrugged, a soft smile forming on his lips.

Now, I just have to focus on Liana~

Mm~ my beautiful elven future wife... err... I can call her my wife, right?

Since I was reborn into this world, she became my light, my first love. The one who stood by me from the very beginning.

His smile widened as he continued walking.

And now I also have Gloria, Felicia, Mimi, Delya... and Gracelle.

A perfect harem of girls for me, all for myself~

Hehehe~

Once this mission is done, I’m going to come up with a perfect plan to make sure Gracelle can talk to me without fainting.

So when the day comes, when the time is right... I’ll claim her as mine. Ehehehe~

Javier continued walking, his eyes scanning the market until he spotted Buddy and the three wild pekko in the distance. A soft smile touched his lips as he watched the scene.

Elven children were playing around the giant birds, some climbing onto their backs, others hiding under their wings, their laughter echoing in the air.

Heh~ This is the first time I’ve seen Buddy let kids play with him like this, aside from my two half-sisters, Macia and Vivica.

Well... this is good. And when I have my own children someday, Buddy will be there to protect them, play with them, and carry them just like he does for these elven kids. He’ll be like a big, fluffy uncle to them.

His thoughts were interrupted as he narrowed his eyes, spotting an elf who looked exactly like Liana, silver hair, emerald eyes, but with smaller breasts and a slightly shorter frame.

Hmm? Lyzia?

What is she doing here?

His gaze shifted to the girl standing next to Lyzia.

The foreign princess... Celine.

He let out a quiet exhale, running a hand through his messy hair.

Damn. I hope Lyzia doesn’t blow my cover. She’s sharp, and she knows Buddy is mine. She’s seen me in disguises before, but I hope she keeps pretending she doesn’t recognize me.

Alright... time for the next step.

Javier snapped his fingers, and a cracked, chipped wooden bowl materialized in his left hand.

Time to act like a real beggar.

He adjusted his posture, letting his right leg go slightly limp, dragging one foot slowly as he walked. His shoulders slumped, and his expression shifted into one of weary resignation. He held the bowl out slightly, as if hoping for a coin or two.

I know this disguise isn’t really necessary. My mission is simple, just escort her to Armand and make sure she arrives safely before meeting Father and Mother.

But I have to be careful. I don’t know if she truly wants to come to Armand for diplomatic relations, or if she’s hiding something else. She’s from the same continent as the summoned heroes, the same continent preparing for war against us.

I can’t take any chances.

Just like Father always said.

A wolf in sheep’s clothing is still a wolf. Don’t be fooled by the wool.

He took a slow, limping step forward, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched Celine from a distance.

Let’s see if you are... a true princess seeking peace, or a viper in disguise.

Meanwhile.

”Catch me if you can!” A young elven boy named Alkan dashed through the market, laughing as he weaved between stalls and shoppers.

”Alkan! Don’t run too fast! You’ll crash into someone!” a girl chasing him called out, struggling to keep up.

Just as Lyzia was about to persuade Celine to let go of her desire to feed the pekko, she noticed a figure approaching them with a slow, limping walk.

Hmm? Where have I seen this person before?

Her eyes narrowed as she studied the approaching beggar.

Human... tall... and those muscles hidden beneath the loose beggar robes...

Isn’t that brother-in-law?

Why is he in disguise? I thought he came here to escort Celine to Armand. What is he planning?

The beggar stopped near them, keeping his head low, his hand holding out a cracked bowl. His voice was raspy and weary.

”Kind young misses... I haven’t eaten in days... Could you spare a few copper coins so I could buy some bread?”

Celine’s eyes softened with pity as she glanced at the bowl. She shifted her bags of food, trying to reach for her purse tucked inside her sleeve. ”Lyzia, could you hold these for a moment?”

Lyzia took the bags without looking, her eyes still fixed on the beggar, her lips pressed into a thin line.

Just then, Alkan, still running at full speed, stuck his tongue out at the girl chasing him, not noticing the beggar in his path. Before anyone could react, he crashed hard into Javier’s back.

Javier stumbled forward, his arms flailing as he tried to regain his balance. His hand shot out instinctively, narrowly missing Lyzia’s breast as she sidestepped with practiced ease.

His hands flew forward, his palms landing squarely on both of Celine breasts, squeezing them firmly as he fell against her. Their faces collided, and his lips crashed against hers in a clumsy, accidental kiss.
