My SSS-Rank Innate skill: Infinite Adaptation core

After checking his profile, Nova noticed that his level had risen tremendously after killing the dragon. However, his Potential Rank still had not reached Rank S. It seemed that the higher one’s potential became, the more difficult it was to raise it further.

{ Exactly... you’ll need to earn a massive amount of experience points and complete system quests if you want to raise it. }

Liya set the book aside and leaned against him from behind, resting her head on his shoulder. Her soft chest pressed lightly against his back as she wrapped her arms comfortably around his neck.

Nova didn’t stop her. He could feel the affection in her actions returning once again. A thought crossed his mind — after the last quest, he still hadn’t received a new one.

{ That entirely depends on your fate line. When the right moment comes, I will naturally issue a system quest. }

”Hmm...” Nova hummed quietly.

For now, it was good enough. He already possessed the strength to kill a Level 1 Emperor.

His gaze then fell on his title — Fate Changer— and a question suddenly formed in his mind.

”Didn’t I change Nyxara’s fate by helping her break her engagement and leave the Abyss with me? Even if she wanted it herself... wasn’t I the key factor in all of that?”

”And the same thing happened today. When I saved those kids, I didn’t receive any Fate Points either.”

Liya rubbed her soft cheek against his affectionately as she answered.

{ My dumb baby... it seems you still don’t fully understand what the Fate Changer title actually means. }

{ You didn’t receive any Fate Points because you didn’t truly change their fate. In Nyxara’s case, even if you had never gone to the Abyss, she would have eventually broken the engagement and left on her own. With her strength, she was fully capable of doing so. }

{ That means you weren’t the decisive factor in the eyes of the fate line — even if it looked that way from your perspective, hers, and everyone else’s. }

{ The same thing happened today. If you hadn’t saved those people, someone else would have. If I had to guess, Nyxara was the closest one nearby... and with her character, she would have saved them without hesitation. }

Nova finally understood how it worked.

He turned slightly, cupped her face, and placed a soft kiss on her lips in thanks for the clear explanation.

After that, he continued scrolling through his status and noticed the long list of affinities he now possessed —

Lightning, Chaos, Blood, Fire, Ice, Darkness, Wind, Earth, and Space.

A thought suddenly came to him.

”What if I try to merge all of these affinities together using fusion?”

Liya’s eyes lit up slightly.

{ You could try it... and I think it’s a good idea. }

Nova’s eyes lit up with excitement. Without hesitation, he activated Fusion and selected every affinity he currently possessed.

Nova stared at the panel, a wide smile spreading across his face. This... was far beyond what he had expected.

{ Told you it was a good idea. }

Liya said as she continued rubbing herself against him from behind. Nova, however, was still staring at the panel in surprise. Although he had believed the fusion would succeed, he hadn’t expected a result of this level.

He turned around, letting her settle comfortably onto his lap, and asked,

”What exactly is an Authority?”

Liya hummed lightly before answering.

{ Hmm... an Authority can be described as a supreme power that allows its wielder to exert control over a specific concept, law, or aspect of existence. }

{ Unlike ordinary abilities, an Authority represents a higher level of understanding and dominance. It allows the user to influence the very essence of whatever it governs. }

Nova was genuinely shocked to learn that something like this even existed in this world.

Liya continued before he could speak further.

{ I highly doubt anyone in this world currently possesses a true Authority. Only higher-level existences usually have something like that. }

”Oh, then—”

Before Nova could finish his sentence, a system notification suddenly appeared.

DING!!

[Achievement Unlocked]

[You have successfully created an Authority through your own knowledge, creativity, and understanding.]

[Great Achievement Received]

[Reward Issued]

+10,000,000 Evolution Points

{ Well... that was obvious. At least you’re not completely broke now. }

Nova still had several questions, but he already knew he wouldn’t get clear answers. Anything that touched on higher-level concepts always seemed to lead in a direction that triggered that painful headache.

For now, he pushed those thoughts aside.

What excited him more was the fact that he now had ten million Evolution Points. It wasn’t as much as what he had possessed back in the Abyss before using the gacha, but it was still a significant amount.

He decided he wouldn’t try the gacha anytime soon.

Not until he had faced more danger and, hopefully, reduced whatever bad luck still clung to him.

”I can only hope for that... and raising my luck points is already difficult as it is.”

{ Don’t be like that. Be happy that you now have an Authority. From now on, you’ll be able to use your affinities in battle with a much greater advantage. And once you form your own Domain... it will become a complete nightmare for your enemies. }

Nova thought about her words and couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement. He wondered what his Domain would be like when the time came. For now, though, he decided to focus on the matters right in front of him.

He checked the rest of his status. Everything else remained the same as usual. His skills would not level up anytime soon — he would need a large amount of Evolution Points to raise them further, especially since most of them were already at S-rank. If possible, he also wanted to acquire more useful combat skills.

After finishing his checks, Nova summoned all of his Deadborns. In front of him stood five peak King Realm Deadborns.

Alpha and Gama were currently outside, still searching for traces of Bloodmoon Cult members, while the Goblin Titan Boss remained hidden within Theodore’s shadow. The ones present before him were the rest of his elite forces.

Among them, Moonclaw stood out the most.

The massive beast looked as dreadful as e

ver, its violet shimmering eyes fixed calmly on its Monarch. As Nova’s first Deadborn, Moonclaw held a special place. Nova intended to keep raising it and continue making it stronger.
