My SSS-Rank Innate skill: Infinite Adaptation core

”So,” she continued in a sweet yet domineering tone, ”I’m going to take this interesting and handsome anomaly with me... before any of the other Demon Lords can get their hands on him.”

She tilted her head slightly, her smile widening.

”And I’m sure Kharos will understand~”

Nyxara gritted her teeth as the situation continued to grow worse. Opening a portal and escaping with Nova and Velena was no longer possible — Elaris would never allow it.

Just as her mind was racing for a way out, a clear voice transmission suddenly echoed in her head.

”I’ll buy you five seconds. Within that time, you have to get us out of the Abyss.”

Nova’s words rang clearly in her mind. At first, she couldn’t understand how he planned to do such a thing. Even she, a Sovereign, was struggling under Elaris’s pressure. How could Nova possibly create an opening against someone of that level?

Then she remembered the law-breaking abilities he had already displayed. It was possible that he still possessed some kind of life-saving artifact. Anything capable of momentarily stopping a powerhouse of Elaris’s level would have to be of an extremely high grade.

For now, she chose not to overthink it. She needed to focus on the plan. Three seconds would already be enough for her — five seconds was more than sufficient to get them out.

All she had to do now was trust Nova.

Although Elaris could not intercept the voice transmission between Nova and Nyxara, she still sensed that something had been exchanged.

A faint smile remained on her lips as a deathly silence fell over the entire arena. Everyone present could feel that something was about to happen.

This was the fear a true Demon Lord inspired.

Elaris was no ordinary Demon Lord. She was the third strongest in the entire Abyss — a existence even some Emperors of other races feared.

It was not only because of her overwhelming power, though she was indeed powerful. Her greatest weapons were her charm and illusions.

Her beauty alone was capable of imprisoning a person’s mind so thoroughly that escape became nearly impossible.

Nyxara remained on guard, prepared to defend the moment Nova made his move. She was ready to protect him until then. Meanwhile, Elaris continued increasing her pressure. Interestingly, the crushing force was not directed at Nova, Velena, or even Lorcan. It was focused solely on Nyxara.

As a Sovereign with Spatial abilities, Nyxara was the only one who could potentially escape with the others if she was not kept firmly in check — and Elaris was well aware of that.

In the next instant, Velena suddenly felt an overwhelming force strike her body. She was thrown aside like a ragdoll.

”Velena!!”

Nyxara shouted, but she was a step too late. The gap in speed was simply too large. Elaris had already slipped past her.

To Nova and most of the audience, the movement had been far too fast to clearly follow. The next thing he knew, Elaris was holding him by the neck, lifting him into the air with ease.

She spoke in a sweet, almost teasing voice.

”Didn’t I tell you, Sweety? Your little tricks won’t work on this beautiful Auntie... so don’t try to act smart.”

”Ugh...”

Nova struggled to free himself, but her grip was unyielding. She didn’t even seem to exert any effort, and his body was already far too weakened from the earlier battle to resist properly.

In the next second, Elaris closed the remaining distance between them and kissed him passionately.

”Mmmph—!”

Nova’s eyes widened in shock. So did the eyes of nearly everyone in the audience. Many male demons felt a sharp pang of jealousy, while a few others felt genuine pity for him for being targeted by someone like her.

Some of the less intelligent demons, who only understood that Nova had ended up in this situation because of his handsome appearance, silently thanked their parents for making them ugly.

”You bitch!!!”

Nyxara’s control finally shattered. She lunged toward Elaris with her sword. Velena tried to stop her princess, knowing that Nova had already shared his plan with her, and that Nyxara losing control could ruin everything.

Before Nyxara’s blade could reach its target, a pressure several times heavier than before crashed down on her body, forcing her into the ground.

*BOOOOM!!*

The arena floor shattered, and a massive crater formed beneath her.

Elaris slowly pulled her tongue back and licked Nova’s lips, while he could only glare at her with pure hatred.

She pouted slightly.

”Why are you looking at me like that? Don’t you find me beautiful?”

”Quite frankly, any male demon — or even men from other races — would die just to receive a kiss from me. Why don’t you appreciate it a little?”

Nova glanced at Elaris, then at Nyxara, who was struggling to rise from the crater under the crushing pressure. After a moment, he looked back at Elaris... and suddenly burst into loud laughter.

”Hahahahaha!”

Elaris and the entire audience were left puzzled by his sudden reaction. Murmurs quickly spread through the stands.

”Did that steamy kiss drive him crazy?”

”I wish I was in his place...”

”Don’t dream, you fucker. You’re ugly as hell!”

Even Nyxara, Velena, the children of Demon Lord Kharos, and Elaris herself were confused by his laughter.

Elaris narrowed her eyes slightly and spoke.

”What’s so funny, Sweety...? Did I crack a joke?”

Nova shook his head and finally controlled his laughter.

”No, no... it’s just that you told me to appreciate it. I know it’s not actually funny. I just suddenly felt like laughing.”

Elaris raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. Nova continued without hesitation.

”I’ll be honest. I find you hot as fuck. And I do like older women... mature milfs like you.”

The jaws of nearly everyone in the audience dropped. Even though Elaris belonged to the Lust Clan, she was still a Demon Lord. Hearing a King Realm demon speak to her so shamelessly was almost unbelievable.

Most of the spectators immediately concluded that Nova had completely lost his mind. Even Nyxara and Velena looked puzzled. Only Liya understood what he was truly planning.

Nova suddenly closed the remaining distance between them. Elaris found his courage interesting, so she allowed it. In her mind, there was no way a weakened King Realm warrior could do anything meaningful to her.

She even released her grip on his neck.

Nova took the risk and stepped closer. He reached out and firmly gripped her plump ass. Elaris found the boldness charming and still made no move to stop him.

He pressed even closer, bringing his face near hers. The entire arena remained frozen in stunned silence. Nyxara’s anger was beginning to rise as she watched him act so boldly — until the next second, when Nova’s voice rang clearly across the entire arena.

”Although I find you beautiful... I’m not interested in sluts.”

Before Elaris could even react to the insult, a sharp buzzing sound erupted. A brilliant white light flared on her shoulder.

Buzzz—!

Her body instantly went rigid. She couldn’t move a single finger, nor could she summon even a fraction of her strength. Under the baffled gazes of everyone present, her body collapsed onto the ground.

Nova didn’t waste a single moment.

”NYXARA, NOW!!!!”

Nyxara reacted instantly. She fully understood the signal. Within less than two seconds, she grabbed both Velena and Nova, tore open a spatial portal, and disappeared through it.

Elaris, still frozen on the ground, could only watch them escape. Surprisingly, there was no hatred in her eyes — only a wide, unmistakably slutry smile.

Four or five seconds later, the seal finally broke. Elaris rose to her feet under the still-baffled gazes of every spectator in the arena. She casually rubbed her lips with a finger and spoke with an unbothered smile.

”I didn’t expect you to have such a high-grade artifact... I’ll admit it. You caught me off guard.”

In the next instant, she vanished from the ground and reappeared at the exact spot where Nyxara had torn open space and fled. Unfortunately for her, she could not follow them.

Within the Abyss, only three individuals possessed the ability to freely traverse space in that manner — and Nyxara was one of them. Elaris was not.

Still smiling, she spoke softly into the empty air.

”It doesn’t matter. I’ll find you soon enough... and make you mine. Then I’ll dig out every single secret you’re hiding.”
