My SSS-Rank Innate skill: Infinite Adaptation core

Her breathtaking, almost unbelievably beautiful face wore an ice-cold expression — one that could both charm anyone and send chills down their spine at the same time.

BOOOOM!

ROAAAARRRR!!!!

The Abyssal Tyradrake let out a final, agonized loud roar as the colossal blood sword slammed into its body within mere seconds.

The massive blade tore straight through its supposedly indestructible scales and plunged deep into its flesh.

The impact was so catastrophic that the rubble of the already destroyed mountains was blown away like mere grains of dust. The ground shook violently once more, and every demonic beast below Sovereign Realm in the surrounding area fled in terror for their lives.

Nova could only watch in awe at the sheer magnitude of the battle unfolding before him. The woman looked so delicate and enchanting — almost fragile in her beauty — yet her attacks were utterly ruthless and powerful.

Throughout the entire finishing move, her expression never once changed. It remained cold, indifferent, and completely unmoved.

Nova watched as thick black blood poured out like a river from the massive wound where the colossal blood sword had plunged into the beast’s body.

The Abyssal Tyradrake continued roaring in agony until it finally died. Nova observed the entire process in silence.

After a few minutes, the roaring completely stopped, and the giant blood sword dissipated into the air.

”Is it really dead?” Nova muttered in a low voice. He found it hard to believe that such a powerful creature could be killed so decisively.

Liya’s voice immediately echoed in his mind.

{ Normally it wouldn’t be completely dead if it were a human, a demon, or almost any other race. Warriors above the King Realm can continue existing in soul form even after their physical body is destroyed. You need to destroy their soul as well to truly kill them. }

”What’s the difference in this case?” Nova asked, growing curious.

{ Demonic beasts are different, } Liya explained. { They possess a core inside their bodies. When that core is shattered, their soul is destroyed along with it. Just now, that woman’s attack completely destroyed the Abyssal Tyradrake’s core... so it died for good. }

Nova’s eyes widened at the valuable information. Before he could process it fully, another thought struck him.

”So that means... Demon Lord Raze’s soul was inside his heart, and the Primordial wisp of energy destroyed and refined it to strengthen my soul. In a way... I’m the one who killed Demon Lord Raze complelty?”

He was somewhat baffled by the realization.

{ You could say that, } Liya replied. { But if his soul had been free, this world would still be in chaos. It was sealed inside his own heart and refined by that Primordial energy — not by you. So don’t flatter yourself too much. }

Nova knew Liya was right, so he set the matter aside and looked back toward the battlefield.

The moment his eyes returned to the scene, he felt as if his heart would leap out of his throat.

Nyxara was already standing on the ground beside the corpse of the Abyssal Tyradrake... and she was staring directly at him with a cold, piercing gaze.

Nova was scared shitless the instant their eyes met. Still, he forced himself to stay where he was and take the risk. He fully expected that the chance of being killed was far higher than the chance of receiving any help.

Yet he also knew that possessing a royal bloodline should offer him some protection. There had to be certain laws or unspoken rules among royals that prevented them from casually killing one another, even when a large gap in strength existed.

Gulping hard, Nova stood up and prepared to walk toward her. He was just about to activate Judgment Flash when—

Whaa—!

A spatial portal suddenly opened right in front of him and sucked his body inside. In the next second, Nova appeared only a few meters away from Nyxara.

He immediately understood what had happened.

{ Good luck, } Liya’s voice echoed in his mind. { I hope you don’t die. }

Nyxara stood just a few meters away from him. Up close, she was even more breathtaking. She was about 181 cm tall, and every detail of her appearance felt sharper and more dangerous.

Nova carefully controlled both his eyes and his thoughts, not wanting to do anything that might anger her.

At the same time, Nyxara was looking him up and down. The man in front of her was truly handsome — 195 cm tall, with ash-grey demonic skin, a powerfully sculpted muscular build, long black hair with purple highlights, matching purple eyes.

By the standards of the Abyss, Nova looked every bit like a royal male demon... if not the most handsome man in the entire Abyss.

Nova was too tense to speak at first, but he knew he had to say something. Nyxara continued staring at him with that same cold gaze.

Just as he was about to open his mouth, she spoke first in a clear, icy tone.

”Who are you?”

Nova gulped hard and answered with slight hesitation.

”...I’m Nova.”

Nyxara continued staring at him, a faint frown on her face.

”Why is your skin that colour?”

Nova’s mind immediately went blank. What kind of question was that? Why was his skin grey? Didn’t demons have grey skin?

Sensing his panic, Liya quickly spoke in his mind.

{ Most demons in the Abyss have red, black, or human-like skin tones. Only a few possess grey skin, and even those are usually of a much darker shade. Yours is pale like ash. On top of that, there is no known royal demon bloodline with that skin colour... and you are very obviously of royal bloodline. }

Nova forced an awkward chuckle.

”I... don’t know. I was just born this way.”

”Hmm.” Nyxara’s frown deepened slightly. ”I can see that you possess a royal bloodline. That is the only reason you are still standing here on the Fourth Level despite your very low strength. However... I do not recall any royal clan with that skin colour.”

Her crimson eyes locked onto his with clear warning.

”Now speak clearly. If you don’t... you already know what will happen.”

Nova panicked again. What was he supposed to say now? He should have prepared a proper identity and backstory beforehand, but she had caught him completely off guard. How was he supposed to explain this?

At the moment, Nova was not hiding his true strength. Because of that, Nyxara could clearly sense that he was only at the King Realm.

Even if he tried to conceal his stats now, the strength of the demonic aura he was radiating would still make his realm obvious to someone of her level.

Nyxara herself was already puzzled. How had a mere King Realm demon managed to survive this close to a battle between two Sovereigns?

She could kill him easily if she wanted to. Yet she held back. The reason was simple. She did not want other royal clans coming after her. She was already not on good terms with her father.

If she unknowingly offended another royal bloodline and they decided to move against her clan, it would only give her younger brothers more justification to blame and target her.

Ever since her mother died, there had been almost no one left in her clan who truly supported her. The last thing she needed right now was to create more internal chaos.

Just as Nova was about to speak, a sudden wave of dizziness hit him. His face began to burn.

He looked at Nyxara and saw that her face was also turning red by the second. Her body started to flinch slightly.

Nova’s mind raced. What was happening? Why were both of them feeling this? It wasn’t pain — it was an intense, growing urge. With every passing second, it became worse.

He quickly turned to check the surroundings and finally noticed the source. The massive corpse of the Abyssal Tyradrake was releasing a thick red mist into the air.

The next moment, system notifications appeared in front of him.

Ding!

[Warning! You are under the influence of the Abyssal Tyradrake’s High-level Aphrodisiac.]

[Status: Libido and primal instincts are being forcefully stimulated.]

[Host is advised to leave the contaminated area immediately.]

Before Nova could even finish reading the messages, his mind began to spin. Reason slipped away rapidly as his cock hardened painfully and a burning desire flooded his entire body.

Nyxara was not spared either.

Even though she was a Sovereign, the aphrodisiac released by the dead Sovereign Realm demonic beast was of equal potency — high enough to affect her as well.

Her body began to burn with unwanted desire as she stared at the man in front of her, her reason slowly slipping away.

Both Nova and Nyxara looked at each other with intense, burning desire. Under the influence of the powerful aphrodisiac, their remaining reason continued to fade as they slowly walked toward one another.

The moment they got close enough, Nova reached out and pulled Nyxara firmly against him, his hands settling on her delicate waist.

”Ahhh...”

A soft, involuntary sound escaped her lips as their bodies pressed together.
