Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 34: Chapter 28: The Future of the Demon Claw

’So, which plan should I choose?’

Feeling flush, Isaac immediately flipped to the last page of the list, starting directly with the most expensive and best options!

’It’s just a Tier One nurturing plan. How expensive could it possibly be?’

——

Demon God Incarnation: 300,000 Gold Coins (Note: The Knowledge for this plan is extremely precious; no materials provided)

Demon Monarch: 100,000 Gold Coins (Note: The Knowledge for this plan is extremely precious; no materials provided)

Outer God: 300,000 ~ 1,000,000 Gold Coins (Note: The Knowledge for this plan is extremely precious; no materials provided)

——

Isaac: ”...”

After a moment of silence, Isaac immediately flipped back to the first page. ’I can’t afford it. I really can’t afford it...’

”Phew~”

Looking at the uniform three-digit prices on the first page, Isaac found them incredibly comforting—more comforting than ever before!

’So cheap!’

After a moment of reflection, he cleared his mind and began to choose seriously, finally settling on two plans—the Hand of the Demon Path and the Hand of the Demon God.

The Hand of the Demon Path develops in the direction of Casting. It uses different devouring rituals to obtain the Talent Witchcraft of various Demons. The downside of this plan is that the rituals have a relatively low success rate. Even if they succeed, it’s very possible that no Talent Witchcraft will be devoured.

In other words, there was an element of gambling involved.

And this was its biggest drawback, because if your luck was bad, you might go a lifetime without devouring a single Witchcraft!

However, that wasn’t a problem for Isaac. To him, the only downside was that this nurturing plan also provided only Knowledge and no materials. It cost a steep seven hundred Gold Coins with no materials included!

Different Demons provide different Witchcraft, so their prices naturally vary. In the entire devouring ritual, the most precious component is the Demon Heart; the other materials are all common stuff.

So rather than offend people by sending them a bunch of junk, it was better to send nothing at all.

Though this was also quite offensive. At least, Isaac didn’t have a very good impression of it!

’No matter how common, it’s still worth several Gold Coins!’

’What a rip-off!’

But to be fair, although the Hand of the Demon Path relied a bit on luck, it was indeed quite strong. The Talent Witchcraft of many Demons were excellent. And while Wizards all strive for omnipotence, they are still human, and their energy is limited.

This nurturing method could save a Wizard a lot of energy, which could then be used to research other things.

As long as your luck held, it had great potential in both the early and late stages!

Compared to the Hand of the Demon Path, the Hand of the Demon God was much weaker in the early stages. It was practically useless at the start, focusing entirely on accumulation before gradually erupting in the later stages.

Interestingly, its earliest power spike was at the High-level Mage stage...

Before that, the Divine Hand needed to be repeatedly enhanced through rituals to increase its mysteriousness. After breaking through to High-level Mage, an Ascension Ceremony would be used to transform it in one fell swoop into the powerful Hand of the Demon God!

At that time, it would possess the Authority of two or three specified domains!

It was definitely strong, but it was also very expensive. The materials for both the rituals to enhance its mysteriousness and the Ascension Ceremony were very costly!

The power of the Hand of the Demon God was fueled by burning money.

What was even more bullshit was that, just like the Hand of the Demon Path, the nurturing ritual for each stage had to be purchased separately...

The price for the Hand of the Demon God was one thousand Gold Coins.

And the ones after that...

Isaac didn’t dare to look, but he was sure they were more expensive than a thousand!

”Sigh~” Isaac let out a heavy sigh and closed the list.

Then he summoned the Tower Spirit and bought both plans!

’Only children make choices. Adults take them all!’

’I’ve got money now, anyway!’

’Just buy the damn things!’

’It’s not like they’re mutually exclusive, so what’s there to be afraid of!’

Besides these two rituals, Isaac also bought a good amount of materials and an advancement ritual. Although his next advancement was still some time away, it was never wrong to prepare early.

His path was already set, anyway. The ritual he chose this time was called the Witch’s Joyous Banquet, still following the Starry Sky + Mysterious path.

This was because the boons granted by each advancement ritual were minuscule, almost nonexistent. They only became significant when stacked.

After a round of shopping, more than four thousand of the five thousand Gold Coins he had just obtained vanished in an instant, flowing away like water...

But Isaac didn’t feel too much of a pang. ’Probably because I didn’t work hard to earn it...’

The shopping was done. Next was to wait for the delivery.

Although the Truth Association had created an ”online shopping system” similar to the one in Lake Town, it ultimately lacked the world-connecting power of the Cabin in the Woods. It could only function like an e-commerce platform from his previous life: you shop online, and the goods are shipped offline.

It was even worse than those platforms, actually. The entry barrier for the Truth Association’s shopping platform was quite high. First, you had to be a Truth Mage, which eliminated a huge number of people. Second, you needed a deposit of at least ten thousand Gold Coins, which eliminated another batch.

Finally, you had to have a Mage Tower!

A proper Mage Tower with a Tower Spirit!

Plenty of people could meet the first two requirements if they gritted their teeth and sold off some belongings.

But a Mage Tower...

That was truly hard to come by, especially a Mage Tower with a Tower Spirit!

That thing was the core of the core of the Truth Association!

It wasn’t something just anyone could buy.

Isaac had no complaints, though. He could use his big sister’s account here, and when he went back, he could buy from Lake Town. No matter how high the requirements were, they wouldn’t hinder him.

’I just wonder how efficient the delivery is~’

After placing the order, Isaac put the matter aside. It would take a day or two anyway. In the meantime, he planned to study the [Legend].

The most special thing about a Legendary Mage was that at each Level, they received three blank Magic Books. By writing different content in them, they could gain different Witchcraft, or even entire Witchcraft Systems!

Currently, two of Isaac’s three Magic Books were already filled. One contained the Flesh Nest, obtained from a deal with the Master of Billions of Flesh. The other was a copy of ”Cinderella,” a fairy tale from his past life.

After he transcribed the fairy tale ”Cinderella” into his Magic Book, it began to spread throughout his domain. At first, it only circulated around the castle. But later, after Caesar learned that Isaac had become a Wizard, he used his family’s power to spread it throughout the entire domain in a very short time. It even showed signs of spreading to neighboring territories.

Therefore, having gained such a massive audience, Isaac’s first Legend had finally finished Nurturing!

”RRRIP!”

The sound of tearing flesh rang out. A Demon Claw, entwined with dark purple muscle like the gnarled roots of an old tree, emerged from behind Isaac’s head and opened before him. Three Magic Books materialized in its palm.

One was blank and still. One was wreathed in crimson, bloody energy. The last was shrouded in specks of starlight, and if one focused, they could faintly hear whispered wishes~
