Master of Nine Stars

”Hmm, want to try?” Gao Lingwei crossed her legs, leaned back with her elbows resting on the back of the chair, and tilted her head to look at Rong Taotao, who was sneaking some yellow peaches.

”Can you handle it? You should rest some more,” Rong Taotao said with concern.

”I’m not that fragile.” Gao Lingwei’s gaze was fixed on Rong Taotao. The next moment, a ripple of Soul Power, invisible to the naked eye, spread out.

In that same instant, Rong Taotao felt an inexplicable sensation, as if an incredibly impassioned voice was roaring at him from some unseen realm.

That voice was a pure roar, devoid of any words, yet it was saturated with a single emotion: Battle!!!

WHOOSH...

Rong Taotao was given no choice as his vision blurred.

’Two scenes?’

Rong Taotao was shocked. Gao Lingwei, using this Soul Skill for the first time, was stunned as well.

The sight of two simultaneous images wasn’t unfamiliar to Gao Lingwei; it was just like when she shared her vision with the Snowball Cat.

Right now, her physical eyes saw Rong Taotao sitting on his hospital bed, eating from a can of yellow peaches.

Meanwhile, it was as if her soul had left her body. In another consciousness, she saw Rong Taotao, dressed in a hospital gown, standing on a square of packed snow.

Rong Taotao’s physical body was still eating the canned yellow peaches, while another body, constructed from his spiritual consciousness, was in a different dimension, surveying the wondrous Arena.

Emptiness. A vast expanse of emptiness. There was nothing at all. It was as if in this entire world, there was only the square of snow beneath his feet.

The place Rong Taotao found himself was a square patch of snow, more like a fighting ring. The square platform was quite large, at least 50 or 60 meters to a side.

Rong Taotao looked around curiously, wondering how his vision could be so clear without any source of light. He quickly walked to the edge of the platform and peered down into an endless abyss.

’This...’

’No way out? What would happen if I fell?’

Rong Taotao was very curious. Gripping the edge of the snow with both hands, he craned his neck to look down, only for his expression to turn to one of shock.

It turned out that the square of snow he was on was simply suspended in the void.

’There are no pillars supporting it from below. The snow is at most 5 meters thick?’

”So, after I pull you into the Snow Prison Arena, my physical body can still move around freely,” came Gao Lingwei’s voice from behind him.

On the hospital bed, Rong Taotao nodded. ”But it’s a huge distraction. Once a fight breaks out, I’m afraid you’ll only be able to focus on one side and not the other.”

Gao Lingwei nodded silently.

Rong Taotao said, ”You should try to get used to controlling both fronts, like with Left-Right Mutual Combat.

That way, if our enemy isn’t used to fighting on both a spiritual and physical front, but you are, our advantage would be enormous.”

In the hospital room, Gao Lingwei tore open a bag of snacks.

In the Arena, Gao Lingwei raised her palm, wiggled it slightly, and said, ”I think this might actually work.”

Rong Taotao smiled. ”I’m just suggesting the ideal scenario. It’s easier said than done. After all, the two battlefields aren’t even in the same dimension, and the nature of the duels are completely different.

If you can just focus on the Spiritual Arena while still coordinating with me to defend on the physical plane, that would already be an ideal outcome.”

Gao Lingwei suddenly spoke up. ”Since you can’t get out of bed right now, can we train in here?”

At her words, Rong Taotao’s eyes lit up!

’Holy cow!’

’From now on, not even an injury can stop me from training?’
