Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1639: Chapter 107: Sky Cloud Sword Sect

After returning from White Cloud Immortal City, Yang Zhenshan found Yun Xiao and explained to him what he had discussed with White Cloud True Monarch and Jian Changhe.

”What do you think about this?”

After speaking, Yang Zhenshan asked Yun Xiao.

Yun Xiao looked at him with a very peculiar gaze, ”Are you thinking of using them as a shield?”

Yang Zhenshan raised an eyebrow, ”Is it that obvious?”

”Isn’t it obvious? With such an Immortal Palace, you don’t need to establish a sect, especially not one that’s led by others.” Yun Xiao said.

Yang Zhenshan perspired slightly, well, it was indeed quite obvious.

The Life Realm Immortal Palace could originally be seen as a sect. Since a sect was already established, there was naturally no need to pointlessly join others to establish a new sect.

However, it was only because Yun Xiao knew about the existence of the Immortal Palace that he saw through Yang Zhenshan’s intentions; White Cloud True Monarch and Jian Changhe might not be able to guess Yang Zhenshan’s purpose.

Or rather, they couldn’t accurately guess Yang Zhenshan’s intentions, perhaps thinking that Yang Zhenshan was leveraging this power for his own convenience.

Actually, there’s nothing wrong with that. The reason everyone is tempted to establish a sect is to have a powerful force at their disposal.

Yun Xiao pondered for a moment and said, ”Integrating the powers of the Yunxiao Mountain Range would not be easy.”

Yang Zhenshan chuckled, ”I know, this cannot be rushed. What’s urgent is to build the framework of the sect first!”

Yun Xiao nodded, ”What do you want me to do then?”

”Eventually, you will also join the new sect. Although I want to use the new sect as the Immortal Palace’s shield, I don’t want the new sect to be a loose sandpile either!”

”Integrating forces to form a new sect is advantageous for us.”

”If the Immortal Palace becomes powerful in the future, why not integrate the new sect as the external force of the Immortal Palace!”

”When the new sect is established, I might need you to control the new sect!”

Yang Zhenshan expressed his thoughts.

First, borrow the power of White Cloud Immortal City, Hidden Sword Mountain, and Cangyu Mountain to establish a new sect. Initially, this new sect can shield the Spirit Source Land from the winds and rains, but once it becomes powerful, swallow this new sect entirely. This was Yang Zhenshan’s overall plan.

The Sect Leader of the new sect would be appointed by White Cloud True Monarch; Yang Zhenshan would not compete with him for this position, nor could he.

But he could gradually erode the new sect’s power, initially controlling several key departments, and then slowly grasping all the power of the new sect.

With his support in the background, and Yun Xiao continuously observing, it would be easy for him to swallow the new sect eventually.

Of course, neither Yang Zhenshan nor Yun Xiao would personally step forward in such matters; Yang Jizhen would need to lead the power struggles.

This way, even if things were exposed, Yang Zhenshan could retreat with ease.

”Alright, your mind is indeed quite cunning.” Yun Xiao looked at Yang Zhenshan with an even more peculiar gaze.

”What? Why are you looking at me like that!” Yang Zhenshan felt somewhat uncomfortable under his gaze.

Yun Xiao stroked his beard with a chuckle, ”Haven’t you treated the Illusion Moon Sect like this before?”

Yang Zhenshan rolled his eyes, ”I did not harm the Illusion Moon Sect; on the contrary, I helped them a lot. When I initially joined the Illusion Moon Sect, I just wanted to use their power to help the Spirit Source Land establish a foothold in the Sea of Spirit.”

Yun Xiao thought for a moment and agreed. Although Yang Zhenshan liked to scheme, he rarely did things that harmed others for his gain; he preferred mutually beneficial outcomes.

The Illusion Moon Sect, although suffering heavy losses over the years, was not because of Yang Zhenshan but due to changes in the situation, which could not be blamed on him.

Moreover, Yang Zhenshan has helped many people.

From the Lu family to the Master family, from the Illusion Moon Sect to the Xuanqing Sect, all owe a great debt to Yang Zhenshan.

The Yang family saved many from the Lu family; Lu Fusheng, Lu You’an, and Lu Youning were all rescued by him.

Similarly, the Master family too. If not for Yang Zhenshan’s intervention back then, the Master family would have long perished; now there would be no Master family at all.

Also, Yang Zhenshan saved Lin Daoyuan and Yue E.

Yang Zhenshan is the timely rain of the Sea of Spirit.

”Let’s prepare in advance for this matter. Once White Cloud True Monarch and Que Lingyu agree, we will join this new sect!”

...

Cangyu Mountain isn’t steep, covered in light green, and when the wind blows, layers of leaf waves rise. A thousand-year-old tree stands atop the mountain, its trunk needing ten or more to encircle, with branches stretching diagonally towards the clouds, shading half of the mountain.

The nest of the Cloud Sparrow Demon Clan is embedded among the branches, curling like a city. Some have hollowed out massive branches, doorways covered with feathered curtains; others have bound tens of thousands of twigs with vines, creating dome tops, with expansive openings large enough for three to stand side by side.

When the wind blows, the sound of wings flapping comes from the nests, with wings occasionally brushing against the leaves, the generated airflow stirring the thin mists along the mountainside.

At the mountain’s foot lies a hidden valley, where a stream flows through stone, forming a jade pool at the valley’s heart. Beside the pool grow clusters of orchids, their scent drifting in the breeze. Que Lingyu’s dwelling is hidden behind the pool in the bamboo shadows, with bamboo fences covered in morning glories, the dewdrops on the petals reflecting the sky, gently swaying with the wind.

Que Lingyu stands on a green stone, her stature less than five feet, with narrow shoulders resembling an undeveloped green bamboo. Her hair adorned with three pure white lark feathers, the wispy strands at her cheeks bearing a light feather white, tinged with a fluffy pink at the ears, making her appear even more innocent than a typical young girl.

Yet when she raises her eyes, there’s not a trace of naivety in those amber pupils.

”Didn’t I say not to seek me when there’s nothing important?”
