A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Justin Hale Arrives

However, Felix Gallagher hesitated for only a moment before agreeing. ”Two hundred thousand it is! Mr. Gallagher will make sure you don’t lose out on this!”

The crowd was stunned. This was a giant of the jewelry industry, yet faced with Seraphina Sterling’s exorbitant price, Felix Gallagher hadn’t gotten angry. In fact, he had amiably agreed! The way everyone looked at Seraphina Sterling changed. A person held in high regard by Felix Gallagher couldn’t possibly be ordinary! No one dared to see her as just a regular high school student anymore.

Seeing that Felix Gallagher hadn’t refused, Seraphina Sterling knew she had made the right choice. ”Since Mr. Gallagher is so decisive, I can’t take advantage of my elders. Once this stone is cut open, I’ll sell it to you as well!”

The crowd felt as if a flock of crows had just flown overhead. The stone hadn’t even been cut yet; no one knew if it would even have any jade, let alone what quality it might be. And she had the nerve to say she wasn’t taking advantage of her elders! If this wasn’t taking advantage, then what was!

The stone-cutting master looked at the small raw stone and had a premonition. ’This one will definitely yield some fine jade!’

Felix Gallagher also watched the stone being cut with great anticipation. What Jade Pavilion lacked most was high-quality jade.

The surrounding crowd stared intently at the stone. They had never seen a stone gambler be so confident as to start selling the find before the stone was even cut!

The master was experienced. He made a cut right along the color streak, but it didn’t reveal the hoped-for green. A wave of disappointment washed over the crowd. They had thought that with Seraphina Sterling being so certain, she would uncover some incredibly rare jade!

Felix Gallagher, however, was so excited his arms were trembling, and his voice shook. ”Quick! Bring some water! Quick!”

The stone-cutting master was the closest and had the clearest view. He excitedly splashed water onto the cut surface, his gaze growing more fervent. ”This is... this is a Violet! Heavens! No one has ever cut a jade this fine on the first floor! Young lady, what a keen eye! Truly, a keen eye!”

Felix Gallagher took the fist-sized piece of Violet, his eyes growing moist. ’With a few more pieces of jade this good, Jade Pavilion can be saved!’ he thought. ”Thank you! Thank you! Three million! I’ll transfer you the money right away!”

’Three million!’ Seraphina thought. Although a Violet was rare, three million was still a bit steep. She didn’t refuse, though. ’Felix Gallagher is desperate for jade right now, and Violets aren’t exactly common. Plenty of people would want to buy it. If this went to a proper auction, it’s not impossible that the bidding would reach this price!’

The crowd was utterly stunned by the piece of Violet jade!

To think that a Violet could be cut from the first floor’s selection of stones, which had already been picked over once!

What shocked them even more was that Seraphina Sterling had been certain it would yield good jade before it was even cut! For someone so young to have such a discerning eye—it was simply unbelievable!

”Seraphina, don’t bother with the first floor anymore. Tomorrow, I’ll take you to the second floor!” Felix Gallagher was the most shocked of all by Seraphina Sterling’s ability. In all his years in the jade business, he had never met anyone with such a keen eye!

”Seraphina Sterling, give me back my jade! That piece of jade just now was clearly mine! Give me the two hundred thousand! If you don’t give me the money today, this isn’t over!”

Willow Hale had already spent all her savings but hadn’t managed to find a single piece of jade. She was so angry she could have spit blood. Then, she heard that the stone Seraphina Sterling had intercepted from her for a thousand yuan had yielded a fine piece of jade that sold for two hundred thousand! The news made her ache with fury! She was going to make Seraphina Sterling cough up that money!

”Should I call the police for you?” Seraphina Sterling asked calmly, not the least bit intimidated by Willow Hale.

Willow Hale was left speechless, momentarily unable to think of a retort.

Seraphina Sterling said with a look of mock pity, ”I didn’t even want to buy this stone. You’re the one who forced me to. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for pushing away a fortune. You have no one else to blame!”

This hit a nerve. The main reason for Willow Hale’s rage was exactly that: she had foolishly pushed away a fortune that had been right in her grasp! Hearing Seraphina Sterling say it out loud in front of everyone made her eyes burn with fury.

”I don’t care! You have to give me the two hundred thousand! Or this isn’t over!” Willow Hale roared, looking as if she was about to lose control and fly into a rage.

Standing on the second floor, Hughes frowned. ”Young Master, should I go down and intervene?”

Terrence Grant merely watched with a cool gaze. ”I wasn’t aware your relationship with Seraphina Sterling had become so friendly.”

Hughes was speechless. ’...You’re the one who’s anxious, Young Master!’

Hughes glanced worriedly at the hallway railing and wondered if he should say something. ’Young Master, if you grip that railing any harder, it’s going to break. If you’re so worried about her, why don’t you just go down and help!’

Seraphina Sterling simply couldn’t stand Willow Hale’s idiocy any longer. She rolled her eyes in exasperation. ”Are you sure about that?”

Willow Hale thought Seraphina Sterling was scared. Imagining the two hundred thousand she was about to get, she immediately grew smug. ”Just give me back the two hundred thousand, and I’ll let this matter drop!”

Seraphina Sterling just gave her a look of pity and shook her head helplessly. ”Officer Gable, someone is disrupting public order and interfering with business. Aren’t you going to do something about it?”

Ginny Gable really felt like she was constantly being used. Why was it that wherever this girl went, trouble always followed! Still, this fell under her jurisdiction. Ginny Gable took hold of Willow Hale’s arm. ”Miss Hale, please come with us.”

”No! No! I don’t want to! Let go of me! I won’t go!” Willow Hale was genuinely scared now. She struggled relentlessly, trying to break free from Ginny Gable’s grasp. It was an incredibly pathetic sight.

”Willow Hale! Shut your mouth!” a stern voice suddenly called out. Willow Hale instinctively stopped struggling.

”Officer Gable, we won’t trouble you any further. I will take her away immediately.” The voice was gentle, but it carried an authority that brooked no argument. A tall, handsome man walked into view.

Seraphina Sterling stood frozen, desperately trying to control the trembling in her legs. ’Justin Hale! You’re here too!’
