A Warm Marriage After Rebirth

Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Are There Teachers Who Kiss Students?

With both witnesses and physical evidence, there was no room for negotiation in this case. Scar was done for. The three leaders of this group of thugs were gone, and the rest were just small fry. Even if they were released in half a year, they wouldn’t be able to cause any trouble! Besides, from start to finish, this whole affair was an internal conflict. Even if they wanted revenge, there was no one for them to take it out on!

Seraphina Sterling stayed with Kimberly Jennings in the hospital for three days. On the fourth day, she finally gave in to her mother’s persuasion and went to school. In reality, it didn’t matter to her whether she went to school or not. Even if she skipped class for the entire year, she was still confident she could get top marks in every subject! But Kimberly Jennings didn’t know any of this. She just didn’t want her daughter’s studies to be delayed because of her!

Just as Seraphina Sterling left the hospital, she ran into Ginny Gable. This time, however, he wasn’t wearing his police uniform.

”I can’t figure something out. Why would there be a fruit knife in the hospital corridor? Scar said someone framed him, that they deliberately placed the knife on the floor!” Ginny Gable said, his eyes fixed on Seraphina Sterling’s expression. This whole incident had happened too suddenly.

’Kimberly Jennings had just gotten into trouble, and right after, these thugs took such a major fall! He wouldn’t believe it if someone called it a coincidence. But if it was really a setup, just like Scar claimed, he found it hard to imagine that it was the work of this seventeen-year-old girl!’

”Officer Gable, you must have seen the security footage, right? I was just passing through the corridor at the time. That fruit knife was mine. I was originally going to wash a couple of apples at the sink, but I didn’t expect to run into these people fighting. I got scared, dropped everything, and ran. I didn’t just drop the fruit knife; I dropped two Red Fuji apples as well!”

Seraphina Sterling was unhurried, her explanation perfectly logical. Even someone as meticulous as Ginny Gable couldn’t find a single flaw in it.

”Really? Just passing by?” Ginny Gable’s voice rose slightly, a hint of probing in his tone.

Seraphina Sterling gave a warm smile, her cool eyes dancing with a brilliant light. Her soft voice could easily make anyone lower their guard. ”And what if I said I passed by on purpose?”

Ginny Gable froze. ’So it’s true, just as I suspected. This girl in front of me planned everything! She took down an entire gang and sent them to the police station all by herself, just for revenge! Her cunning and calculation are simply astounding!’

”Actually, you should be thanking me! With this achievement on your record, the upcoming transfer order should be yours for the taking! Once you’re at the municipal criminal investigation division, you’ll be on a much bigger stage than here in Tollan!”

’Seraphina Sterling remembered very clearly. This man, who appeared to be an ordinary police officer, had a very complicated background! In the future, he would rise to a height in his career that was nearly unreachable for anyone else! Befriending him now would give her another avenue of support when she had to deal with the Hale Family in the future!’

Ginny Gable’s eyes narrowed, a sharp glint flashing within them. ’I really can’t treat her like an ordinary seventeen-year-old girl. She even knows about this kind of internal news! This girl... she’s a mystery!’ Just as quickly, he reverted to his persona of an ordinary, small-town cop.

”That’s all still up in the air. But, if you run into any trouble in the future, you can always come find me!”

Watching Ginny Gable’s departing figure, Seraphina Sterling thought, ’He’s a cunning one, but I like dealing with smart people!’

Not far from the school, a figure suddenly darted out. Seraphina Sterling showed no mercy, launching a knife-hand strike straight for their face.

The other person was no slouch either. They pulled back in time and grabbed her wrist. ”Nice reflexes!”

”Mr. Grant, do you have too much time on your hands? I heard most of the town’s residents have agreed to relocate and the resort project has already begun. How do you still have time to wander around?” Seraphina Sterling pulled her wrist back. This was the first time they had met since their kiss, but Seraphina Sterling merely gave him a fleeting glance. Clearly, she didn’t give the kiss a second thought.

Terrence Grant glanced at the fair wrist that had just escaped his grasp. ”Your mother had an accident. I had to show some concern! Besides, I’m your teacher, after all!”

”Teacher? Is there any teacher who kisses their student?” Seraphina Sterling shot him a look and kept walking.

The mention of the kiss made Terrence Grant feel that wicked fire stir within him again. The memory of that soft touch resurfaced in his mind. By the time he snapped out of it, Seraphina Sterling had already walked into the school!

Terrence Grant couldn’t help but chuckle. ’So a day like this can happen even to me! But it looks like she doesn’t need my help! And... it seems she wasn’t as indifferent to that kiss as I thought!’

If Hughes were here right now, he would definitely be shocked to see his usually unrestrained and reckless young master wearing such an idiotic smile!

Seraphina Sterling hadn’t been to school for three days, and her followers had been worried sick. Of course, these so-called followers were just classmates who admired her academic performance.

The three days Seraphina Sterling was absent were the happiest for Willow Hale. Her former spotlight had finally returned to her! But those days only lasted for three days. The moment Seraphina Sterling came back, Willow was knocked back down to her original state!

”Seraphina Sterling, is everything okay at home now? I have my notes here, you can take them!”

”If you need any help, just say the word. We can all pitch in!”

”Seraphina, how is Miss Jennings doing? My mom didn’t say much, so I don’t really know the situation!” Summer was the most anxious of them all.

”Don’t worry, she’s fine now.” Seraphina Sterling smiled, looking at the kind faces all around her. ”Thank you all for your concern. The matter has been resolved.”

”As long as it’s resolved! If you need help with anything, you have to tell us. Don’t be a stranger!” Mindy Linton also hurried over from her classroom. She wasn’t in the same class as Seraphina Sterling, so she had gotten the news a little late!

”It’s really all resolved, you don’t have to worry.” Seeing the worried looks on Summer and Mindy Linton’s faces, Seraphina Sterling couldn’t help but smile. ’High school friendships really are this simple.’

”Hmph! Resolved? If you don’t have the capital to be arrogant, then don’t act so recklessly. You’ll only end up bringing disaster upon your family!” Willow Hale said snidely, all while looking at her reflection in a mirror.

”Hale is right. If you don’t have the capital to be arrogant, then don’t act so recklessly. You’ll only end up bringing disaster upon your family.” Seraphina Sterling offered a warm smile, not angered by Willow Hale’s words at all. A chilling glint flashed through her brilliant eyes.
