Beast Taming: Reincarnated With The Ultimate Bond System!

Chapter 273: Chapter : 273 : Eavesdropped!

The colosseum galleries buzzed with the aftermath of the first duel—commoners still whispering about Amelia’s stubborn stand, nobles muttering excuses for Harlan. The sun beat down mercilessly on the open arena floor, turning the concrete into a hot plate. Dust hung in the air like faint smoke, kicked up from the earlier explosion.

Liana Starweaver climbed the stone steps back to the highest gallery—ash-brown hair slightly windswept, cheeks flushed from running down to check on Amelia and back up again. She hopped over the low railing and dropped onto the bench beside Ela Voss with a dramatic sigh.

Lysandra turned first—golden hair catching the light like liquid sunlight. ”Is she alright?”

Liana chuckled—low, mischievous—settling cross-legged and leaning back on her hands. ”More than alright.”

She shot a sideways grin at Ela—who sat primly beside her, hands folded in her lap, lavender hair falling over one amethyst eye—then looked over her shoulder at the rest of the group.

”Ethan confessed to her. Really.”

Aiden glanced back—arms still draped casually over Nyxion and Selvara’s shoulders, Luna curled sideways in his lap with her cheek against his chest. One eyebrow rose. ”Really? I’ll be damned. He didn’t look like he had it in him.”

Liana’s grin widened—almost predatory. ”You’ll be surprised to know what he has in him.”

Thristle leaned forward—purple skin gleaming, violet eyes glinting. ”Are you sure he confessed? Like... actually said the words?”

”Mmm...” Liana nodded, face perfectly straight. ”I eavesdropped from outside the infirmary door. Heard everything. And I’m pretty sure they even kissed.”

A ripple of nervous glances passed through the wives.

Nyxion’s tail froze mid-swish. ”You... eavesdropped?”

Selvara’s wings twitched. ”On a private moment?”

Luna’s ears perked straight up—big blue eyes blinking innocently. ”Was it a good kiss?”

Liana shrugged—completely shameless. ”Sounded pretty passionate from where I was standing. Very cute.”

Nayla broke the tension with a throaty laugh—blue-tinted lips curving wickedly. ”Well... a kiss certainly feels good. Our husband is a really good kisser.”

Luna immediately nodded—enthusiastic, tail thumping against Aiden’s thigh. ”The best in the world.”

Aiden chuckled—low, amused—tilting his head down to look at her. ”Oh really? You want another kiss?”

Luna beamed up at him—eyes sparkling like sapphires. ”Yes, Master.”

She didn’t wait for permission.

She pushed up—small hands cupping his face—and kissed him hungrily. Full, needy, shameless—lips pressing hard, tongue darting in to taste him. Aiden kissed back—deep, possessive—one hand sliding up to cradle the back of her head, the other tightening around her waist.

The rest of the wives watched—some smirking, some rolling eyes, some blushing.

Ela Voss—sitting beside Liana—turned scarlet. Her hands flew to her cheeks; amethyst eyes wide. ”P-please stop this indecency...”

Liana rested her chin on her hand—sighing. ”I’m getting jealous. I want someone to love me too.”

Ela’s blush deepened. ”You too...?”

Below on the arena floor, two new commoners were already facing off—mana crackling between them—but no one in the highest gallery paid attention. The duel didn’t have the same fire as Amelia’s. It felt... ordinary.

Ela leaned forward. ”Still... your friend was strong.”

Liana’s grin softened—genuine warmth creeping in.

Arisha added with a smile, ”Yeah. Even though she lost... she proved something. She proved that hard work and determination can take you to new heights. That’s more than most nobles ever do.”

Ela looked down at the arena—then up at Liana. ”She... she fought with everything she had. Even when she knew she couldn’t win.”

Venya wings swished lazily. ”That’s what makes it beautiful. Heart over power.”

Selvara huffed—wings folding tighter. ”Hmph. Stubborn little thing. I respect that.”

Luna broke the kiss with a wet pop—lips shiny, cheeks flushed. She nuzzled Aiden’s neck. ”She didn’t give up.”

Aiden’s hand stroked down Luna’s back—slow, soothing. ”She gave everything. That’s what matters.”

Liana leaned closer to Ela—voice dropping conspiratorially. ”You know... I think she’s gonna be fine. Ethan... I am mean her boy friend’s with her now. That boy’s been in love with her forever. Just took her almost dying for him to finally say it.”

Ela’s cheeks flushed again—soft pink blooming across pale skin. ”That’s... romantic.”

Nayla laughed—low, sultry. ”Very. Though I prefer when our husband pins us down and says it while he’s—”

Aiden’s hand shot up—covering Nayla’s mouth mid-sentence. ”Language.”

Nayla licked his palm—slow, teasing. Aiden sighed—exasperated but fond—and let go.

Down on the arena floor, the current duel ended.

No one in the highest gallery clapped.

Below, the next duel was announced in Elowen’s cold, clipped tone:

”Next match: Lord Cedric Veyl versus Lady Isolde Draven.”

A noble boy and girl stepped onto the arena floor—both tall, elegant, uniforms pristine.

The crowd settled in for another predictable noble showcase.

Up in the highest gallery, Aiden yawned—long, lazy, jaw cracking.

”I’m getting bored here,” he murmured, voice low enough that only his wives heard.

Luna—still curled sideways in his lap—tilted her head up, blue eyes curious. ”Master?”

Aiden looked down at her—then around at the rest of the group.

He made up his mind.

In one smooth motion he stood—carrying Luna bridal-style. Her legs kicked once in surprise; tail thrashed.

”Yip—! Master?!”

Everyone looked up.

Lysandra tilted her head—golden hair catching sunlight. ”You going somewhere?”

Aiden reached down—grabbed Selvara’s hand—and pulled her to her feet.

She yelped—wings flaring instinctively. ”What?!”

”We’re going to have some fun until our turn comes,” Aiden said simply—voice casual, eyes glinting with mischief.

Selvara’s cheeks flushed instantly. ”H-Here? Now?!”

Aiden smirked—dark, teasing. ”Not here.”

He glanced at the rest of the group—then thought:

*System, teleport us to an empty classroom in the academy.*

Suddenly Nyxion’s clawed hand shot out—grabbing his wrist tight.

”Wait...” she purred, fluffy black tail swishing excitedly. ”Take me too.”

Aiden raised an eyebrow—then shrugged. ”Fine.”

Before anyone else could react—

—the air shimmered.

Reality folded like paper.

One heartbeat they were in the colosseum gallery; the next—

—they were gone.

The remaining wives blinked.

Thristle snorted. ”Of course he took the wolf.”

Venya rumbled—half amused, half annoyed. ”Lucky wolf.”

Valeforia smirked. ”They’re gonna defile a classroom.”

Xylendra nodded once—silent agreement.

Lysandra sighed—fond. ”We’ll cover for them.”

Ela—sitting beside Liana—blinked rapidly. ”Wait... they just... disappeared?”

Venya looked over her shoulder. ”Yup. Welcome to the harem life.”

Zerra bounced. ”I wanna go too!”

Vegia waved her hands frantically. ”N-No! We have to stay! The duels!”

Aethoniel hid behind Lysandra. ”T-They’re gonna get in trouble...”

Down on the arena floor, the duel between Cedric and Isolde had already begun—ice clashing against fire in a display of noble precision. No one noticed the highest gallery was suddenly three people lighter.
