Reincarnated as a Lizard

Rumble~ Bang! Bang!

Watching from a distance as the massive tentacle of the baby kraken thrashed around wildly searching for her, Scaly’s eyes narrowed slightly.

This was already the second time that the baby kraken had targeted her and been close to killing her.

Even if she couldn’t do anything about it with her current strength, she had already silently noted down the baby kraken as someone she would have to settle the score in the future.

No way could she allow this oversized squid to treat her like some easy prey again and again!

However, as much as she wanted to continue watching the massive tentacle of the baby kraken thrash around destroying everything in its path, she was also clear that such a large commotion would undoubtedly draw the attention of other monsters.

[Rock Boar, lvl 45]

[Cave Spider, lvl 36]

[Large Cave Rat, lvl 51]

[Venomous Cave Rat, lvl 42]

[Rock Boar, lvl...]

And just from a quick glance at her surroundings, it was clear that a large number of monsters had already been drawn to the commotion and were rapidly converging around the massive tentacle in the process of doing what could only be described as throwing a tantrum over not finding what it was looking for.

She might be fully confident in her own strength when it came to taking on these monsters, but her current state wasn’t exactly optimal after her escape from the deceased mole lord’s underground tunnels, and she didn’t feel like engaging in a battle with these monsters after what she had just gone through.

Not to mention, she still wanted to find a place to quietly go through her own status and see what had changed after she had absorbed the dragon blood from the heavenly lake serpent heart and used it to refine her own dragon blood.

After all, even though she had not yet checked on her status, it was clear to her that whatever changed, her vitality had grown exponentially compared to before, something that should be related to a fundamental change taking place when it came to the purity of her dragon blood breaking through 20%.

Roar?

Feeling one of the monsters that had arrived suddenly turning its attention towards her as she was about to turn and leave peacefully, Scaly could not help freezing as she soon felt several other monsters turning their attention towards her.

”...”

The reason for this was rather clear, as her current appearance could be described with one word, weak.

From the dirt that covered her entire body along with dried up blood from the heavenly lake serpent she had eaten through not too long ago, her current appearance almost screamed that she had been heavily injuried and was in a weak state, something that had now undoubtedly drawn the attention of the surrounding monster.

All of them think I’m some easy prey!?

Feeling infuriated as she realized what the monster currently looking towards her were thinking, Scaly stopped moving as she turned to face one of the monsters that had been slowly inching closer to her with an expression that made it clear that it was planning to attack her.

Crackle~!

And without a hint of hesitation, she directly used her lightning magic and fired it towards the approaching monster-

Rawr!?

BOOOM-!

[Gained 819 Exp]

Not even giving it a chance to resist before it was almost instantly killed by the terrifying might of her lightning magic.

At the same time causing the monsters who had been thinking about her as easy prey to reevaluate their assessment of her. Giving her more than enough time to quietly slip away before they decided to gang up on her.

After all, even though she was confident in fighting them off, her state really wasn’t optimal, as she was not just physically exhausted from her earlier escape but had now also used a significant amount of mana to use her lightning magic.

Of course, if she had intended to stay and fight an extended battle, she wouldn’t have used her lightning magic just now. The reason she had used it was to warn the surrounding monsters that she wasn’t easy to deal with and make them hesitate long enough for her to slip away, something she had succeeded in, as she now found herself far away from the glowing crystal where the baby kraken was causing a commotion.

The only thing left for her to do was find somewhere she could hide away and recover her strength without being interrupted by other monsters.

Luckily, she didn’t have to look around the rocky underground terrain for long before she found a prime location to hide herself in.

Although not a small crack in the wall like she was used to, as she had grown far too big for something like that after her last evolution, it was still a relatively small and comfortable space that was accessed through a large crack in a massive rock that she could just barely squeeze through with her current size.

The most important part of this new temporary home was the small space inside the rock could only be accessed through the crack she had entered through and the crack in question could easily be blocked with a few loose rocks that had been gathered by the small space’s former owner.

As for the fate of this former owner...

[Gained 612 Exp]

They were kind enough to turn into experience points for her after she kindly invited herself inside their home, while also acting as a light snack for her to fill her stomach after the recent exhausting endeavor she had gone through.

Chomp~!

Biting down on the former owner of the small space that was now her temporary home, Scaly casually blocked the entrance and sealed herself inside the space before she turned her attention towards her status. Fully intent on enjoying a light snack while reading through her improvements after the purity of her dragon blood broke through 20%.

Name: Scaly

Race: Young Tempest Dragon

Dragon blood: 21% (Common)

Level: 24/30, 23%

Mana Heart: First Circle

STR: 557 |VIT: 987 | DEX: 529 | M: 1192

Magic: [Dragon Water Magic, lvl 6], [Ice Magic lvl 1], [Wind Magic, lvl 5], [Lightning Magic, lvl 2],

Skills: [Dragon Bloodline, lvl 4], [Dragon Flight, lvl 4], [Poison Resistance, lvl 3], [Dragon Claw Strike, lvl 7], [Dragon Breath (Water), lvl 3], [Corrosion Resistance, lvl 2], [Pain Resistance, lvl 4], [Swimming, lvl 3], [Dragon Heart, lvl 1]

First, her dragon blood had not changed status and was still considered common from what she could see, but after the slight disappointment from this, she soon found another rather obvious change that had taken place in her status outside of the few stats she had automatically gained after increasing the purity of her dragon blood.

The change in question being the astronomical growth her vitality stat seemed to have undergone since she had last checked her status.

Not only had it grown by the expected 10 after the purity of her dragon blood increased by another 2%, but it had grown by an additional 100.

Such a massive leap made it clear that something had happened and explained why she felt that her vitality had been far stronger after she had woken up beside the injured mole lord.

The culprit wasn’t that difficult to find, as she soon focused her attention on the brand-new skill that had appeared in her status...

[Dragon Heart, lvl 1]: The dragon blood flowing through your body reached a critical mass and caused an evolution to take place, transforming your heart into a dragon heart, strengthening your body, +5 VIT per level, +100 VIT.

Reading through her new skill filled while munching away at a small monster leg, Scaly could not help feeling excited as she realized that the new skill not only increased her vitality once but increased her vitality per level as well. Meaning that she would now become even stronger every time her level increased in the future.

Thinking about it, her total increase per level looked like this...

STR: +10 |VIT: +20 | DEX: +10 | M: +20

A grand total of 60 point every time her level increased.

But outside of this, there was also something different to feel overjoyed about... And that was the fact that her vitality was now only a single level away from reaching one thousand.

With how she had managed to condense her mana into a mana heart after her magic reached a thousand, enhancing the strength of her magic in the process, she guessed that a similar transformation would take place after her vitality broke through to a thousand.

Although... She had no idea what kind of changes this kind of change would bring outside of the fact that it shouldn’t be anything negative.

No matter what, she couldn’t wait to get out and hunt down a few monsters to increase her level to 25 and at the same time raise her vitality stat to a thousand.

However, before any of that could happen, she had to first rest a bit...
