Chapter 1716: Chapter 1018: Yama’s Honesty (3)

Chapter 1018

”But in her heart, your Mother only had your father. She became a deity only because your father was one too! Later, she left her sect to follow your father to the Netherworld to get married, and then she had you! Her Master was furious about it, but it was your mother’s senior brother who mediated between the Master and Apprentice, which calmed her Master down a bit. However, your mother was expelled from the sect because of this. Fortunately, your mother’s senior brother was a decent person and often returned to the Netherworld to visit her!” Yama told Mo Jiuli everything he knew.

”Uncle Yama, was it because of me that my parents were harmed?” Mo Jiuli asked Yama, looking at him.

If initially, it was only doubt, now he was absolutely certain! Since Uncle Yama said that Mother left the sect to come to the Netherworld and married Dad, and gave birth to him, then their family should have lived happily in the Netherworld! Why? Why did something happen to her and Mother, making them fall into reincarnation? Why did his father abandon the Netherworld Army and fall into reincarnation, then go to the Divine World to become the Divine Lord, waiting for her and Mother?

Yama felt a bit troubled upon hearing this, thought for a moment, and then said to Mo Jiuli, ”Jiuli, you are their child; you are their life. No matter what they do for you, they do it willingly, because they are your parents, because they love you! Also, you must remember that some things have nothing to do with you; some things are destined by the heavens and cannot be changed by anyone. Your parents’ calamity would have occurred even without you. Do you understand?”

Yama knew he shouldn’t hide anything, but letting Jiuli know some things now would only make her feel sad and guilty. Moreover, she hadn’t been born at that time, so how could it be her fault? If blame must be assigned, it was simply that Jiuli was unlucky, chosen by fate! And Lord and his wife, refusing to accept their fate, would rather defy the heavens to change Jiuli’s fate, which led to them being tormented by destiny repeatedly...

Mo Jiuli, hearing this, didn’t ask further but instead fell into deep thought. She tried hard to recall her memories, but found it all futile, leaving her very frustrated...

”Jiuli, what’s wrong?” Zi Ye’s cool voice asked, his voice like a clear spring calming Mo Jiuli’s irritated mood.

”Zi Ye, is there a way to help me remember all my memories? I want to know if my parents... because of me...” Mo Jiuli said worriedly.

”Jiuli, don’t you believe in yourself? Those are your memories; you’ll recall them sooner or later! If you can’t remember now, it means now is not the right time for you to know. Your memories were likely sealed by your parents, and as your strength grows, you’ll gradually recover all your memories! Your parents did so much for you just so you can grow better. Jiuli, do you want their efforts and sacrifices to be in vain? Have you thought about it? If you remember things you’re not supposed to, perhaps bad things could happen, and it might put your parents in danger. Is that what you want? I believe Jiuli knows what to do and can certainly achieve it in the end. Your parents and Baobao are all waiting for you!” Zi Ye said faintly, then immersed himself...

Zi Ye’s words echoed continuously in Mo Jiuli’s ears, especially the last sentence that her parents and Baobao were all waiting for her! The words snapped Mo Jiuli out of her daze...
