Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

CRACK—

A ghastly white bolt of lightning flashed across the sky.

By its light, Su Zhi noticed the students had numerous wounds on their bodies and faces, blood streaming from them.

Whatever had hurt them was smart, deliberately targeting the weak points of their protective suits.

At the same time, the dense, dark shadows chasing them were revealed in the flash of light: deep gray feathers, dull yellow glowing pupils, a wingspan of nearly two meters...

Su Zhi’s eyes shot wide open.

He had seen this type of Pet Beast before at Fengyun Arena—a Wind and Electric Element High Level Extraordinary Race, the Leo.

However, unlike the Leos he had seen at Fengyun Arena, this Leo Group exuded an unnaturally ferocious aura, as if they wouldn’t rest until they had torn these humans to shreds!

”Su... God Su, save us!”

”I was wrong! Please, big shot, save us!”

”Help a brother out!”

Seeing that Su Zhi hadn’t left, the group that had just tried to rob him threw their arms open as if they’d found their savior, bursting into tears on the spot.

Su Zhi didn’t have time for them. He sidestepped away and fixed his gaze on the Leo Group before him.

Escape or negotiation was pointless now. As a Beast Tamer, he could feel the hostility from these beasts:

From the moment they entered the creatures’ sight, they had become part of the Leos’ targets!

In the distant treetops, a supervisor wearing an Energy Shield Cloak pressed his earpiece, as frantic as an ant on a hot pan.

”Reporting to Park HQ, Sector 012 has spotted an abnormally active Leo Group. Fifteen of them, with an average Real-time Energy Value of 703.5!

A total of eight students are currently besieged by the Leo Group. Requesting permission for emergency intervention.”

HQ quickly sent back a message: ”012, copy. Do not intervene unless absolutely necessary! Maintain close surveillance. Intervene only if there are signs of life-threatening danger to the students!”

”Yes, sir! 012, roger that!”

Ending the communication, the supervisor let out a heavy sigh, his expression growing graver.

HQ’s orders might seem cold-blooded, but he actually understood them quite well.

If he chose to intervene, it would mean an immediate end to these students’ field training. In the past, he had rescued some students, but instead of being grateful, they had blamed his intervention for costing them the chance to acquire resources.

After that, he adopted the principle of not acting unless absolutely necessary.

Even so, the teacher kept his eyes glued to the scene, mentally preparing himself. ’I’ll have to intervene sooner or later.’

Leos were omnivorous Exotic Beasts and didn’t typically exhibit such violent tendencies. The frenzy of these Leos was clearly abnormal.

He didn’t know the exact skill level of the besieged students, but facing this many Leos in such a state would be a challenge even for a teacher, let alone a few high schoolers.

By his estimation, it wouldn’t even be thirty seconds before these students were... huh??

The supervising teacher’s eyes went wide.

WHOOSH!

In a flash, a torrent of wind and sand surged up, sweeping toward the diving Leo Group.

The Leo Group never expected such an inconspicuous little earth dog to unleash a Sandstorm without any wind-up. They quickly scattered to dodge.

Even so, two unlucky ones who couldn’t dodge in time were hit head-on, sent flying backward with screeches of pain.

The unlucky few who had been pecked bloody cowered behind Su Zhi, completely dumbfounded.

They had just been rendered helpless by this Leo Group, and a deep-seated fear of the species had taken root in their hearts.

Running to Su Zhi in desperation was just an instinctual reaction. Su Zhi’s Pet Beast was certainly a bit stronger, but they never imagined it could thrash the Leos.

This wasn’t just a big shot; this was the invincible NPC from the Newbie Village!

Amidst the thunder and lightning, the tiny Yu Bao stood as still as a mountain, its button-like black eyes reflecting the pressure of an Upper Rank being.

Yu Bao’s current Real-time Energy Value had reached 1440, more than double the Leo Group’s average.

For it, flattening one or two Leos was as easy as eating or drinking.

”Eee—eee—”

The Leo Group tumbled in the air for a moment, let out a harsh cry, and once again dove down as a unit.

This time, a faint golden-yellow electric light flickered in front of the Leo Group, converging into an arrowhead-shaped energy wave—

The Leo Racial Skill, a Wind and Electric Element Middle Extraordinary Skill, Extreme Thunder Thousand Birds!

Leos are pack creatures, and Extreme Thunder Thousand Birds was a Racial Skill that required a group to activate. The more Leos participated, the more formidable its power became.

With this move, a Leo Group could even repel natural enemies several times their number!

Seeing that the enemy wasn’t just refusing to surrender but daring to fight back, Yu Bao’s eyes turned vicious, and its body was instantly covered in a faint Golden Light.

Sand swirled and expanded before Yu Bao, forming a thick Quicksand Shield; simultaneously, a shimmering Golden Light, a Furious Sand Blade, quickly appeared and assembled itself at the center of the Quicksand Shield.

”WOOF!”

Yu Bao let out a ferocious roar. The shield and blade flew up against the current, meeting the attack of Extreme Thunder Thousand Birds head-on.

’So you’re the ones called Leos, huh?!’

”Eee?!”

Even though the Leo Group was in a ferocious state, they were still stunned for a moment upon seeing Yu Bao’s counterattack.

’What kind of skill is that?’

BOOM!

With no time to hesitate, sand and lightning had already collided, churning and clashing.

Under the Leos’ group assault, Extreme Thunder Thousand Birds indeed displayed astonishing power, shattering the Quicksand Shield on the spot.

However, Electric Skills are naturally weak against the Earth Element. By the time the aftershock reached the ground, its force was spent, and Yu Bao easily blocked it with a Yellow Earth Wall.

The Quicksand Shield had disintegrated, but the Furious Sand Blade still shone with deadly sharpness!

The ferociously powerful Furious Sand Blade was like a sharp knife, plunging viciously into the Leo Group.

Three Leos that couldn’t dodge in time were pierced through one after another by the Furious Sand Blade, killed instantly. They plummeted to the ground like tattered kites.

Before the Leo Group could readjust its formation, countless vines shot out from the surrounding trees, ensnaring four of the nearest Leos on the spot.

A Wood High Level Extraordinary Skill, Vine Fury!

A Tier Two Top Level Vine Fury, its striking speed was comparable to lightning!

In the gloom, Xiaoyue’s pale green pupils brightened a shade, appearing exceptionally cold.

SWISH—

The vines tightened quickly. The ensnared Leos struggled desperately for a moment, then fell still.

The remaining Leos scattered and tumbled, regrouping high in the sky.

In a single exchange, the fifteen-strong Leo Group had lost sixty percent of its members, with only six Leos remaining alive.

The distant supervising teacher’s jaw dropped. He was completely stunned.

He had been ready to intervene... intervene my ass!

The scene just now might have seemed effortless, but in reality, it was a complete and total suppression of power.

For example, that Huajing Cat’s Vine Fury. If its Skill Level wasn’t high enough, it would never have been fast enough to catch the swift Leos.

And that Yu Dian Dog... not only was its Energy Value high, but it also had a pile of bizarre skills he couldn’t even comprehend...

’Are these two really high school students?’

’Are high school students these days all this terrifying???’

The supervisor took out his phone to scan them, then compared the data on the screen, a look of sudden realization dawning on his face.

City League Champion, Su Zhi; City League Semifinalist, Shao Ya.

’No wonder...’

After a moment of shock, the supervisor sighed in relief and sat down on a treetop branch.

’Nothing for me to do here. Now I just have to watch the show.’

’Hmm, I should probably keep an eye on those five unlucky kids... hope they don’t bleed out and die...’

”Eee—eee—”

The last six Leos circled above Shao Ya and Su Zhi, their cries holding no fear, still just as frenzied and violent.

”Something’s not right,” Shao Ya said with a frown. ”Normally, pack-based Exotic Beasts will rout after losing thirty percent of their numbers. Why are these Leos still so aggressive?”

”And Leos themselves shouldn’t be this aggressive in the first place...” Su Zhi added, his expression grave.

The Storm Mountain Range where Leos live is home to many powerful Elite Tier and even Commander Tier Exotic Beasts, so Leos are generally quite timid, having to act meekly in front of powerhouses just to survive.

This kind of Exotic Beast usually just eats small fish and shrimp; they don’t get this vicious just for a hunt.

For them to fight to the death like this today, refusing to back down... it was just too strange...

”Woof!” Yu Bao stared intently at the Leos overhead.

’Group fights are awesome, way more interesting than arena PvP.’

’If one comes, I’ll kill one. If two come, I’ll kill a pair!’

’From now on, I, Master Yu, call the shots here in Huai City! I won’t allow any Leo to speak loudly in my presence!’

’Don’t just blindly imitate everything you see...’ Su Zhi couldn’t help but laugh when he heard Yu Bao’s thoughts.

The atmosphere on the scene did indeed lighten up considerably.

Although the reason for the Leos’ frenzy was still a mystery, most of them had been dealt with. The few that remained couldn’t stir up much trouble.

Xiaoyue wouldn’t even be needed for what came next; Yu Bao could handle it on its own.

”Eeee—”

Suddenly, a Leo’s cry came from the sky, much deeper than any of the previous ones.

K-KRA-KA—

Another bolt of lightning streaked by. High in the sky, directly in front of the two of them, a giant Leo with a nearly six-meter wingspan had appeared.

The Leo Group flew toward the giant Leo, then, under its leadership, charged toward the humans on the ground.

”BEEP BEEP!” The dedicated Beast Tamer device let out a sharp alarm and its screen automatically lit up—

[Pet Beast: Leo (Wild)

Attribute: Wind Element, Electric Element

Race: High Level Extraordinary

Real-time Energy Value: 1801]

Su Zhi and Shao Ya’s expressions both grew serious at the same time.

The leader of this Leo Group actually had a higher Real-time Energy Value than both Yu Bao and Xiaoyue. For a wild High Level Extraordinary Race, this was basically its upper limit!

”EEE!!”

After learning of the miserable state of its subordinates from its Direct Lineage, the King Leou let out an enraged cry.

’So you’re the one who struck down my underlings, are you?’

It spread its giant wings and dove toward Yu Bao.

Yu Bao lowered its body and cast Thick Earth Blessing on itself. At the same time, a Quicksand Shield and a Yellow Earth Wall formed one after another in front of it, creating successive lines of defense.

Yu Bao didn’t choose to dodge. It knew its agility was no match for a Leo, which specialized in speed.

Its opponent was nearly a One-star Pet Beast, with abilities a whole level higher than its own. While not strong enough to one-shot it, it was still a crushing difference.

But, the Beast Tamer was here.

As a Pet Beast, Yu Bao had no room to retreat!

While building its defenses, Yu Bao secretly formed a Furious Sand Blade, readying itself for a fierce battle.

Even knowing the opponent was unbeatable, it had to give its all to fight back!

CRACK-CRACK-CRACK

A swift shadow flashed by like a bolt of lightning.

After all, there was a generational gap in their abilities. The King Leou effortlessly pierced the Quicksand Shield and the Yellow Earth Wall, its sharp, sparking beak pecking toward Yu Bao’s throat.

In the nick of time, a dark shadow flashed past, positioning itself between Yu Bao and the King Leou.
