Fairy Tail: Collapsing Stars

Chapter 397: August: I’ll Show My Hand, I Am the Fairy Tail Guild Master!Chapter 398: The PY Relationship Between Zeref and Mavis

”Everyone, weʼre leaving...”

Evan stood at the opening of the broken warship and bent down to look at the sea before him. On the calm surface of the sea, countless smoking wreckages of burning warships floated up. There were more than a thousand wrecks in total, all of them warships belonging to the Alvarez Empire that he had shot down with Conquerorʼs Haki.

In the seawater, the mages who had been stunned by his Haki and then awakened by the stimulation of the cold seawater floated on the ocean, looking up toward the sky. Their gazes just happened to meet Evanʼs. A height of several hundred meters would not injure these mages whose magic power averaged around Level Three or even Level Four. At this moment, they were incomparably clear-headed as they looked at that proud figure in the sky.

”We lost!”

The warriors of the Alvarez Empire looked at the smoking warship in the sky, the only one still standing in the air, and revealed bitter smiles. That warship was the flagship of their Alvarez Empire, but now it had already fallen into the enemyʼs hands. As for the upper ranks of the empire, the lords of the Spriggan 12, they had lost! The emperorʼs shields had shattered...

”Hehe...”

With his hands behind his back, Evan looked at the despair in the eyes of the soldiers and their resistance toward war. Finally, he revealed a smile. The war was over, and peace had arrived. He was just that much of an archangel, that much Freedom!

”Letʼs go~”

As Evan spoke, he rose and flew into the sky. Behind Evan were Irene, Selene, Igneel, Kurnugi, and Animus...

The people floated in the sea and watched the dragons leave. The dragons who defended peace had not killed anyone here. They had merely destroyed their vehicles for crossing the continent! In an incomparably romantic form, they ended the war.

”Damn it...”

The imperial soldiers watched the backs of those dragons as they arrogantly departed, and in the end, they could not help shedding tears. The enemy was clearly right before their eyes, yet they did not have the courage to raise their fists toward them.

Time passed in the blink of an eye. A week had already passed since Evan reached the God Dragon level...

Western Continent, Alvarez Empire, royal capital, the meeting room of the Spriggan 12. At this moment, the four members of the Spriggan 12 who had participated in the Alvarez Empireʼs assault battle were sitting inside the meeting room, quietly waiting for Augustʼs arrival...

The original meeting of the seven members of the Spriggan 12 had become a meeting of five because two people were missing.

Aside from Neinhart, who had already decided to switch allegiance to Irene and become Ireneʼs number one lackey.

Among this seven-person meeting, Larcadeʼs figure was also missing...

On the second day after the Alvarez Empire launched a probing attack against the continent of Ishgar, which was also the second day after the empire was defeated by the dragons, at the moment when the whole country was grieving, the Moon Dragon God Selene, in the form of an incomparably beautiful nine-tailed divine fox, attacked the royal capital of the Alvarez Empire alone and carried away Larcade, who was in the middle of recuperating and recovering.

The imperial soldiers just stood there in place, watching that divine fox with despair in their eyes, yet no one dared to attack or resist. In the end, they could only watch as that nine-tailed divine fox took Larcade away, and not a single person mustered the courage to take even one step forward.

For a moment, endless humiliation washed over the hearts of the imperial soldiers. The soldiers grieved, the soldiers suffered, and the soldiers had no way at all...

On the seventh day after the Alvarez Empireʼs defeat, which was today!

The Magic King August, who had disappeared without a trace, finally arrived late and showed himself.

It was also precisely Augustʼs appearance that seemed to restore a bit of vitality to the entire empire.,

Those dejected imperial soldiers seemed to gain a bit more vigor. When they looked at August, they felt a vast power stirring inside their chests.

Yes, they had indeed lost! But the ones who lost were incompetent people like them. The empire had not lost! Because the empireʼs strongest mage, the great Lord Magic King August, had not made a move.

And right now, the people of the entire nation were all waiting for the result of the meeting. They were holding back a breath, waiting for Magic King August to lead them in a counterattack against the dragons, to counterattack the continent of Ishgar!

At this moment inside the meeting room, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman, the four defeated members of the Spriggan 12, were all wrapped in bandages from head to toe, as if there was not a single piece of good flesh on their bodies.

The Spriggan 12, who were always full of confidence in the past, now had pain and despair in each of their eyes. Their hearts were unwilling, yet they were powerless.

”My modifications still werenʼt thorough enough...”

Wahl sighed helplessly. He still had too many weaknesses. Mechanical creations were completely unable to defeat the dragons. He had to think of a way to create an entirely new mode to deal with dragons.

”Relying on my strength alone, I absolutely cannot fight against the dragons! Should we gather all the demons from the Books of Zeref scattered across the world? Only by uniting every force that can be united can we fight against that level of mighty power!”

Bloodmanʼs brows were tightly furrowed. Having been defeated in battle against the dragons, he thought of his demon companions.

”From the very beginning, we should have listened to Lord August! This battle should not have happened in the first place...”

”As warriors of His Majesty Zeref, everything should be done according to His Majesty Zerefʼs instructions!”

Jacob Lessioʼs brows were tightly furrowed. He regretted accompanying Larcade in attacking the continent of Ishgar. At that time, he should have directly stepped forward and firmly stood on Augustʼs side.

”We lost. The Alvarez Empire no longer has any chance of victory. This place can no longer continue to extend my talents. However, although the Alvarez Empire can no longer display my talents, there is one place that can...”

Invel Yura lowered his head. His gaze was gloomy, and his brain kept thinking about something.

After the invincible Alvarez Empire was defeated and the Spriggan 12 lost two members, Invel Yura even developed the thought of defecting from the empire and changing the person he served like Neinhart.

In any case, what he wanted was only to prove his own talent. Since the Alvarez Empire no longer had the ability to attack the continent of Ishgar, he might as well join the continent of Ishgar and then help the continent of Ishgar capture the Western Continent...

He could even rely on the power of those dragons from the continent of Ishgar after capturing the Western Continent to sweep across the Northern Continent, Guiltina, and finally complete the grand unification of the world!

”Tsk~”

Thinking up to this point, Invel Yura raised his brows. At this moment, two words slowly appeared in his mind: ”Feasible.”

”Cough cough...”

”Lord August has arrived!”

Just as the Spriggan 12 each had their own thoughts and schemes, along with the opening of the meeting room door, and amid the shout of the guard, an old man with a grizzled beard walked steadily toward the members of the Spriggan 12 inside the meeting room.

”Lord August!”

The moment the old man with grizzled hair and beard entered the meeting room, the four defeated members of the Spriggan 12 all stood up together and bowed to greet the old man.

”Mm...”

That old man was naturally Magic King August. He looked at these four members of the Spriggan 12 before him, whose faces showed respect and who had put away their former pride and madness, and gently nodded.

This was more like it~ Shields should have the appearance of shields~

The purpose of a shield was to protect, not to attack! The Spriggan 12 led by Larcade before had clearly walked the wrong path. The current Spriggan 12 were the shields that could better protect Zerefʼs safety!

”Lord August, Neinhart has defected, and Larcadeʼs whereabouts are unknown. The empire now needs you to preside over it incomparably! Only you can help the empire walk out of its current gloom!”

Jacob Lessio stated his attitude as soon as he came up. From now on, he was firmly in Augustʼs faction. No matter who came, it would be useless. Uh, unless His Majesty Zeref returned from his travels. Of course, that situation would be discussed separately~

”Mm.”

August gently nodded. Of course, he knew about Neinhartʼs defection.

Speaking of which, it was rather complicated. Theoretically, anyone who betrayed his father deserved death, but Neinhart had betrayed his father and had now become Ireneʼs lackey. Converting it, that was equivalent to Neinhart betraying Zeref and joining Mavis...

Regarding this situation, August also had no way around it. He could only say that Neinhart was not suitable for the position in the Alvarez Empire, so he had transferred to Fairy Tail to continue serving his parentsʼ cause.

As for Larcade, that fellow had been taken away by someone and turned into a perpetual-motion self-X stick. The person who took Larcade away was someone he could not provoke, and he could not get him back in the short term either...

So it was fine to just treat Larcade as if he had never existed in this world!!

”Thatʼs right, thatʼs right. Right now, His Majesty Zeref is not here, and Larcadeʼs whereabouts are unknown. Only you can preside over the empire now!”

Bloodman gently nodded in agreement. Right now, within the entire empire, there was not a single person surnamed Dragneel, so naturally the strongest person in the empire should preside over it.

”According to my calculations, if those Dragon Kings are judged only by the amount of magic power, they are merely about equal to Lord August...”

Wahl took out a tablet computer. The computer recorded the magic power released by Irene and the others that he had recorded. Of course, this data was not accurate, because Wahlʼs recording device had an upper limit. Whether it was Evan, Irene, or even the Magic King, all of them had far exceeded this upper limit.

It was just that according to Wahlʼs speculation, the magic power of Evan and the others should be about the same as Augustʼs, or in other words, roughly equal.

Only because Wahl truly did not dare to imagine the terrifying situation that Evan and the othersʼ magic power was still above the Magic Kingʼs...

Because once such a situation appeared, then the Alvarez Empire truly would have no way to fight.

”...”

Invel Yura did not speak. He merely silently watched August. He was waiting, waiting for August to speak first. Only after August opened his mouth could his conjecture be verified.

”Mm, the empire, well, no matter who is allowed to preside over it, it doesnʼt matter!”

Just as the four members of the Spriggan 12 were waiting for August to give everyone a bottom line, August suddenly inserted a very smooth sentence.

”Mm...”

It was precisely this sentence that stunned all the Spriggan 12.

”After all, we are all wholeheartedly working for the people of the Alvarez Empire and for His Majesty~”

Just as the four shields were shocked, August continued to add.

”Phew...”

The Four Spriggan Shields slowly breathed a sigh of relief after hearing Augustʼs words. Augustʼs words just now had truly been too frightening. They had thought August did not intend to care about the Alvarez Empire anymore~

”Lord August, please donʼt be modest. In this vast empire, other than you, no one else can preside over it!”

Just as Augustʼs words fell, Invel Yura suddenly interrupted with a smile, which also counted as expressing his stance.

For a moment, the only four remaining shields all stood on Augustʼs side. In fact, at present, other than standing on Augustʼs side, they had no other choice.

”Haha...”

Regarding the words of the four, August merely smiled lightly, then said nothing more.

”Uh...”

This made the Spriggan 12 all freeze for a moment.

Immediately afterward, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman, these four members of the Spriggan 12, exchanged glances.

In fact, at this moment, all four of them had many questions they wanted to ask August. Originally, everyone had planned to wait for August to explain himself. But in the current situation, it seemed August had no intention of explaining anything at all. Since August would not speak, they could only ask. But who should ask, and who should open their mouth? That was the problem.

”May I ask Lord August, what should we do next?”

In the end, it was still Jacob Lessio who braced himself and looked at August as he asked.

After all, among the four of them right now, the one with the best relationship with August was Jacob Lessio.

And Jacob Lessio asked August a painless question...

”Do now what you did before.”

August answered very quickly.

”Uh...”

Following Augustʼs answer, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman fell silent once again.

Then the four exchanged glances again...

Everyone used their eyes to signal Jacob Lessio to continue asking, but Jacob Lessio, who had already asked one question, refused to speak no matter what.

”Sigh...”

Helplessly, Invel Yura sighed. Among the Spriggan 12 right now, he was the most anxious one.

After all, he needed to ask clearly what Augustʼs future policy for the Alvarez Empire was, and whether they would still attack the continent of Ishgar.

”Mr. August, please allow me to presumptuously ask you a question. If you and His Majesty both take action, do we have any chance of defeating the continent of Ishgar?”

The eyes of Invel Yura, hidden beneath his glasses, radiated a wise light. He planned to indirectly probe Augustʼs inner thoughts, and at the same time, test Augustʼs bottom line and confirm the ratio of combat strength between enemy and ally.

”Defeating the continent of Ishgar is very simple, but also nearly impossible...”

”I think you should already know what the true enemy standing before the Alvarez Empire is, right?”

Magic King August sat in his seat and looked at everyone before him as he asked.

”Is it those dragons?”

Invel Yura asked directly without even thinking after hearing this.

”Hehe, no...”

”Did you not see what those dragons had in common?”

After hearing this, August could not help laughing. As he smiled lightly at everyone, he shook his head and asked.

”Uh...”

Following Augustʼs question, everyone immediately found themselves troubled. At that time, they had only been focused on being afraid. How would they have had time to observe the similarities on those dragons?!

But right now, they also could not say this to August, because it was truly too embarrassing.

They were the Spriggan 12, the strongest mages of the empire! They, these mages who represented the face of the empire, did not even dare to observe the enemy after seeing them and only focused on being afraid. If this were said aloud, would that be proper? Although right now, the empireʼs face had already been completely lost by them anyway...

”Eh! Did you really not notice that they had the same mark on their bodies? That is the mark of a mage guild on the continent of Ishgar. As for this mage guild, I think you should have heard of it, because it has always been our target...”

Looking at the troubled expressions of everyone, Augustʼs eyes revealed helplessness. Was this the level of each and every member of the Spriggan 12? And they still called themselves shields? And they still shouted all day about fighting Fairy Tail? With these few pieces of trash, how were they supposed to fight the Dragon Kings of Fairy Tail? In the end, August could only remind them.

”You mean Fairy Tail?!”

After August reminded them, Invel Yura finally reacted.

”Yes.”

After hearing this, August gently nodded and calmly said two words.

”Is Fairy Tail that strong?”

Bloodman was stunned. He subconsciously asked August, his brows tightly furrowed.

”Do you know Fire Demon END?”

August looked at Bloodman and asked casually.

”I know! His Majesty Zerefʼs most perfect creation, the strongest demon possessing terrifying curse power and magic power far surpassing ours!”

Bloodman gently nodded. Of course he knew Fire Demon END. Perhaps in the entire world of Earth-land, there was no demon who did not know the great name of Fire Demon END. That was the secret weapon Zeref used to deal with the Black Dragon King Acnologia.

”Mm. The strongest demon you speak of is one of the many underlings of the Fairy Tail Guild...”

August gently nodded and introduced Fairy Tailʼs strength.

”Huh?”

After hearing this, Bloodman was completely dumbfounded.

”You mean that the Fairy Tail Guild not only has six dragons, even Lord END has joined that guild?”

Bloodmanʼs brows were tightly furrowed. His head began to hurt.

”Not only that, among them there is no lack of experts comparable to you members of the Spriggan 12! Besides that, there are also many mages who control Lost Magic, most of whom are Dragon Slayer Mages...”

August revealed Fairy Tailʼs mid-level combat strength to everyone.

”Hiss...”

After hearing this, Bloodman immediately became even more serious. According to the information August provided, this Fairy Tail Guild was truly incredible~

”Just what kind of divine being is the Guild Master of this Fairy Tail Guild? To actually possess such strength?”

Just as August sat in his seat and quietly watched everyoneʼs expressions, Invel Yura suddenly asked.

”Are you asking about the current one, the previous one, or the next one?”

August raised his brows and looked at Invel Yura as he asked.

”The current one.”

Invel Yura froze for a moment. He did not understand what August meant by those words.

”Hehe, the current one~”

August laughed. As he laughed, he removed the white glove he had always worn.

He revealed the back of his hand, which was marked with the symbol of a fairy dancing in the air, and aimed it at everyone present.

”Uh...”

When everyone saw the mark on the back of Augustʼs hand, they were all stunned. Then their expressions changed. A bad premonition suddenly rose in their hearts.

”Well, I actually wanted to say this earlier.”

”Here, look carefully! This is the mark of a member of the Fairy Tail Guild. Remember it from now on. Once you see someone with this mark on their body, run as far away as you can! You are absolutely not Fairy Tailʼs opponents!”

August looked at everyone with a smiling face and spoke.

”Um, Lord August, why do you have this mark on your body?!”

At this moment, the four members of the Spriggan 12 before him were all trembling slightly. They did not even dare to breathe loudly.

At present, everyone had not the slightest interest in this mysterious Fairy Tail Guild. There was only one question in their minds now, and that was why the mark of the Fairy Tail Guild was on the back of Augustʼs hand. This question was very important, extremely important...

”Eh! Look at my memory. What did you ask me just now? Right, you asked me who the Guild Master of Fairy Tail is...”

”The Fairy Tail Guild has currently gone through four generations of Guild Masters in total. The First Guild Master, Mavis Vermillion. The Second Guild Master, Precht Gaebolg. The Third Guild Master, Makarov Dreyar. The Fourth Guild Master...”

When August spoke up to this point, he paused. As he spoke, the corners of his mouth rose slightly.

”The Fourth Guild Master of the Mage Guild Fairy Tail, Magic King August!”

The instant Augustʼs words fell, vast magic power instantly pressed down on everyone. For a moment, the expressions of the Four Spriggan Shields all changed.

”Our enemies are six dragons, the ultimate demon END, and Magic King August?!”

Invel Yuraʼs face turned ashen. He looked even worse than if he had eaten shit.

Right now, their emperorʼs whereabouts were unknown, the Spriggan 12 had lost two people, and only five remained, one of whom was the strongest and was also the enemy. Besides that, the enemy also had six dragons, and among those six dragons, four were Dragon King-level.

As well as the ultimate demon END, who was said in legend to possess the power to destroy the world. Was there still any way to fight this battle?!

Just how were they supposed to win?!

”Lord August, are you joking with us?!”

”This kind of joke cannot be made! Please do not scare us!”

”We cannot withstand this kind of intimidation from you now! The entire Alvarez Empire can no longer withstand this kind of intimidation from you either!”

”Lord August, if you have any opinions about us, just say it directly. Why use this kind of method?!”

”Thatʼs right, thatʼs right. How could you possibly be the Guild Master of that Fairy Tail Guild?!”

Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman felt their hearts go cold after hearing Augustʼs words.

Immediately afterward, after a brief panic, they looked at each other, then forcefully squeezed out a few smiles on their serious faces and looked at August, asking in panic.

”Hehe...”

Looking at the expressions of the four people before him, August could not help laughing.

”Uh, hehe...”

As August revealed a smile, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman braced themselves and laughed along with August in the empireʼs meeting room. They did their best to force smiles for August.

If this scene were seen by other people in the Alvarez Empire, their jaws would definitely drop! The Spriggan 12, who were always high and mighty, never putting others in their eyes, incomparably proud and arrogant, were actually accompanying an old man in laughter. This scene was truly too absurd. But considering that the old man was Magic King August, it seemed much more reasonable for a moment...

”Do I look like I am joking with you?”

However, just as the four laughing people thought the matter would pass like this, the smile on Augustʼs face abruptly stopped. As his words changed direction, his expression gradually became serious.

”This...”

As the smile on Augustʼs face disappeared and he began to become serious, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman directly froze in place.

They looked at the Magic King before them, whose joy and anger did not show on his face, as though he wore a poker face, as though he wore a thick mask on his face that made it impossible to tell what he was thinking. Their hearts were incomparably panicked, and they no longer had their former confidence before the Magic King.

Yes, the reason they had not feared Magic King August before, and even dared to go against August, daring to directly challenge August in front of countless people around them, was because they knew clearly in their hearts that August could do nothing to them!

August, who cared about face, would absolutely not attack these so-called companions and personally deal with them.

But now it was different. The Lord Magic King who had originally stood on their side had quietly become their enemy. In other words, the trump card of the four of them was now useless...

At this moment, facing August, they no longer had their previous confidence. No one could say for sure whether August would make a move against them.

”Uh...”

At this moment, whether it was Jacob Lessio, whose relationship with August had originally been fairly good.

Or Wahl Icht, who had always maintained neutrality and only thought about his own research.

Or Invel Yura, who had originally stood on Larcadeʼs side and constantly thought about going to war with Ishgar, or Bloodman, who, because of his own origin, had been automatically regarded by August as standing on Larcadeʼs side, all of them panicked at this moment.

When August had still been their teammate before, they had not noticed Augustʼs terrifying strength.

It was like a ferocious beast inside a zoo. It looked mighty and domineering, but tourists would not be afraid, because they knew that these fierce beasts were locked inside cages and could not hurt them!

But once the cage was opened, when the iron cage that imprisoned the fierce beast could no longer protect the tourists, only then could the tourists understand what fear was...

The current situation was the same. Only when Magic King August became the enemy of the Alvarez Empire, and would truly make a move against them, and would strike hard, did the four of them finally understand just how terrifying it was to confront the man before them...

And the things they had done before, those factions, those acts of exclusion, in the eyes of the man before them, were such foolish things. A group of ants actually thought they could drive away a giant dragon through exclusion? Was that not laughable?

”Do not panic~ What did I say before? I said that as long as you continue to maintain your current state, that will be enough, and I will not do anything to you...”

August sat in his seat. He narrowed his eyes and took in the expressions of the four people before him.

At this moment, August leisurely leaned back in his chair. He had never been this leisurely and relaxed before. Right now was the most relaxed moment he had spent in the empire over these years. As Augustʼs gaze swept over the faces of the four people one by one, the mages who possessed the title of Spriggan 12 all lowered their heads.

They also did not know what August was thinking. They only saw August suddenly reveal a smile, and as the corners of his mouth rose, he softly spoke to the Spriggan 12 before him.

”You mean, we should maintain our current state?!”

Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman were all stunned after hearing this. They subconsciously exchanged glances, discussing with each other the intention behind Augustʼs words. Unfortunately, no one could understand Augustʼs meaning. In the end, helplessly, it was still Jacob Lessio, whose relationship with Magic King August was fairly good, who asked August.

”Yes, continue serving as the Spriggan 12 in the empire. This country still needs the existence of you Spriggan 12.”

”Whether it is me, the people of the empire, or the great His Majesty Zeref, all of us hope you can continue to take protecting His Majesty as your duty, continue cultivating newcomers for the empire, provide talents for the empire, and strengthen the empireʼs power...”

August gently nodded and spoke with a smile.

”This...”

After hearing Augustʼs words, everyone frowned and fell into thought. They secretly repeated Augustʼs words, trying to figure out what Augustʼs words truly meant.

”Why? Is there anything you do not understand?”

August stared at the Spriggan 12 before him with eyes that emitted a dangerous aura and asked.

”We do understand, but we are afraid there may be places where we understand incorrectly...”

After hearing this, the expressions of the four Spriggan 12 members all trembled. They truly could not understand Augustʼs intention. After all, August was now their enemy. They did not understand why August still wanted them to continue working hard to become stronger. Wasnʼt an opponent becoming stronger a troublesome thing? The four could not figure it out. In the end, it was still Jacob Lessio who opened his mouth and asked August.

”Mm! Whatever you do not understand...”

”Or whatever you are afraid of understanding incorrectly, just say it!”

”While I am still here now, ask as much as you want!”

”You must remember, if you do not ask, I will default to assuming you understand what I mean...”

”Once you later show behavior that does not match my meaning, then do not blame me for being merciless!”

August sat in his seat, still appearing amiable and peaceful, but the killing intent carried in his eyes made the surrounding Spriggan 12 members unable to withstand it for a moment.

”It is just that, as you know, in the previous policy of our Alvarez Empire, we have always regarded the continent of Ishgar as a hypothetical enemy. Now that you have already joined the Mage Guild Fairy Tail on the continent of Ishgar and become a member of Fairy Tail, should our policy be changed?”

Jacob Lessio revised the words he had prepared again and again. In the end, he used very carefully considered wording and looked at August as he asked.

”I understand. What you mean is, this war that we, the Alvarez Empire, spent decades preparing for with the strength of the entire nation, all for the sake of attacking Ishgar and fulfilling His Majestyʼs dream. In the end, should we fight it or not? This is what you all want to ask me, right?”

August finally understood what these people were worried about. Regarding this, he merely smiled lightly.

”Uh...”

As Augustʼs words fell, Jacob Lessio and the others immediately became cautious. They were afraid that they would say the wrong thing again.

Among them, Invel Yuraʼs eyes were the most anxious. The issue August was now talking about was exactly the thing he had always worried about. At this moment, his heart was incomparably afraid that with one sentence from August, this war would no longer be fought.

However, Invel Yura knew that his fear was useless, because no matter how one looked at it now, this war could no longer be fought. After all, the strongest mage of their Western Continent, August, had already defected and gone over to the continent of Ishgar.

Aside from August, the continent of Ishgar also had several beings comparable to August.

According to the current comparison of combat power, no matter how one looked at it, if their Alvarez Empire attacked the continent of Ishgar, they would not have any chance of victory. Even if their emperor, the Black Wizard Zeref, returned, he still would not be able to shake their nearly zero winning rate...

Speaking of which, it was interesting. In the original work, the strongest mage on the continent of Ishgar on the surface, the number one of the Ten Wizard Saints, God Serena, betrayed Ishgar and joined the Alvarez Empire. But now, under Evanʼs efforts and the flapping of the butterflyʼs wings!

The situation had undergone a huge reversal. In the original work, Serena, who had betrayed the continent of Ishgar and joined the Alvarez Empire, was currently still searching for Dragon Slayer Lacrima on Ishgar~

Meanwhile, the strongest mage on the Western Continent on the surface, Magic King August, had betrayed the Western Continentʼs Alvarez Empire and joined the Fairy Tail Guild where Evan was located on the continent of Ishgar.

It seemed that with Evanʼs interference, everything had reversed for a time. Unfortunately, the Alvarez Empire did not have a cheat. They could not burst with potential. If they could not beat them, then they could not beat them...

”The war naturally must be fought. After all, our efforts cannot be wasted.”

”But the problem is who we fight, and how we should fight! This is the key we should be considering!”

”You must remember, our enemies are absolutely not the human compatriots of the continent of Ishgar, nor are they those dragons who are willing to be friendly with humans and willing to continue living together with humans! Our enemies are those beings who endanger this world and pose a threat to our great His Majesty Zeref...”

August looked at the four people before him and helplessly shook his head. His gaze toward the four people was filled with disappointment.

One must know that in this world, as a qualified shield, one should learn to distinguish for oneself which existences in this world are threatening and would pose a threat to the target one protects.

And which existences would not pose a threat to the master protected by these shields.

Only in this way could shields with the title of Spriggan better protect their master, the great emperor of the Alvarez Empire, the Black Wizard Zeref.

Obviously, at present, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman were still unqualified. They had completely failed to reach the level that a shield should reach. The professional abilities of these Four Spriggan Shields before him still needed improvement!

”Could it be that what you mean is?”

Invel Yura froze for a moment. He seemed to have thought of something, and a trace of disbelief appeared in his eyes.

”At present, the true enemy standing in the way of our Alvarez Empire, standing in the way of our great emperor, His Majesty Zeref, and standing in the way of humanity, is not the continent of Ishgar, not the Fairy Tail Guild, and even less those dragons who intend to get along peacefully with humans!”

”Instead, it is those monsters located on the Northern Continent, Guiltina, who endanger the safety of this world and are called God Dragons by countless people in this world! And the gradually insane Demon Dragon of the End recorded in the Book of Apocalypse, the Black Dragon King Acnologia. These are the existences we should defeat!”

Augustʼs gaze flickered with seriousness. He looked at the four people around him, his voice sonorous and powerful, completely unlike that of an old man in his eighties.

”You mean, we must change our original target, abandon the attack on the continent of Ishgar, accumulate a large amount of combat power, and then attack the Northern Continent, Guiltina?!”

Invel Yura froze for a moment, then raised his brows. He looked at August with delight and asked.

Invel Yura did not care where they attacked at all. He only wanted to know whether this battle could still be fought. Other than that, everything else had nothing to do with him...

”Still not quite right! Do you know what my identity is?”

August glanced at Invel Yura and asked softly.

”You are Magic King August, the Regent of the Alvarez Empire?”

Invel Yura pursed his lips and asked somewhat uncertainly.

”What else?”

August neither confirmed nor denied it. He looked at Invel Yura and continued asking.

”Hiss...”

After hearing this, Invel Yura sucked in a breath of cold air. He thought of a frightening possibility.

”The Fourth Guild Master of Fairy Tail?”

Invel Yura slightly opened his mouth and stated Augustʼs identity.

”Correct!”

August smiled lightly and nodded.

”I am both Magic King August and the Guild Master of the Fairy Tail Guild...”

”Saving the people of Guiltina from suffering and eliminating the Five Dragon Gods has never been a problem of the Western Continent or the continent of Ishgar alone. This is the common responsibility and problem of the people of both our continents! Now is the time for the people to unite...”

August smiled. Whether it was Invel Yura, or Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, and Bloodman, who did they think he was? He was the son of the Black Wizard Zeref and the First Guild Master of Fairy Tail, Mavis Vermillion. His task was not to manage one or two forces, but to work hard to unite the forces of two continents.

”Unite! Unite together!”

As Augustʼs words fell, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman were greatly shocked. They kept silently repeating the words August had said, their eyes filled with shock.

”You mean, the six dragons who defeated us are actually with us...”

Sweat appeared on Invel Yuraʼs forehead. He had one question that he had to get confirmed by August.

”Comrades.”

Of course August knew what Invel Yura was plotting in his heart. He smiled lightly and calmly said two words.

”Hiss...”

As Augustʼs words fell, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman all sucked in a breath of cold air.

”As long as we have those six dragons assisting us, forget the Five Dragon Gods, even eliminating the Black Dragon Acnologia is not impossible...”

Invel Yuraʼs body trembled. Unlike when he had been frightened by Augustʼs words before, Invel Yura was trembling from excitement at this moment. When he thought of the warriors of two continents, all under his command, eliminating the dragons of Guiltina that endangered the world, he became incomparably excited.

However, unfortunately, what Invel Yura did not know was that his dream would ultimately fall through. Even if the Alvarez Empire truly cooperated with Fairy Tail, the strategist would not be him.

”Hehe!”

”Since you already know my true identity and the empireʼs real plan, I will not hide it anymore! Find some time to hang this flag representing Fairy Tail on our empireʼs flagpole. From now on, our empire will raise two flags!”

As August spoke, he took out the flag of the Fairy Tail Guild. It could be seen that August had prepared this long ago.

The flag of the Alvarez Empire had been personally designed and drawn by his father, the Black Wizard Zeref, while this flag representing the Fairy Tail Guild was something he had obtained from his mother.

Every time his fatherʼs flag and his motherʼs flag rose in the empire, a warm feeling would rise in Augustʼs heart, as if his father and mother were still together and silently accompanying him.

At this moment, August had already made up his mind. Even if he had to sacrifice his own life, he would break that damned curse of God Ankhseram and allow his father and mother to openly and happily live together.

”Um, Lord August, isnʼt this a little too much?”

Invel Yura looked at the flag before him, the corner of his eye twitching slightly. He could not help gently pushing up his glasses, which had slid down from shock, while asking August.

”Is there any problem?”

August froze for a moment and looked at Invel Yura as he asked.

”Does His Majesty know that you are doing this?”

Invel Yuraʼs brows were tightly furrowed. What changing the national flag meant was something everyone present surely understood in their hearts.

”No big problem.”

Who knew that after Invel Yura asked August, August merely shrugged indifferently.

”This...”

This time, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman all panicked.

Changing the national flag was equivalent to changing dynasties. It was no different from treason. What were they supposed to do when Zeref returned?!

”Do you know what relationship the First Guild Master of Fairy Tail, Mavis Vermillion, has with our His Majesty?”

August looked at everyone and asked.

”This...”

As Augustʼs words fell, the four were all stunned.

”That year, Mavis looked youthful and adorable, beautiful and moving! And our His Majestyʼs spring heart stirred, his eyes filled only with her...”

August sighed. He raised his head and revealed an expression as though recalling the past, speaking softly.

”We understand!”

There was no need for August to say any more. At this moment, Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman all understood.

”I hope you can keep this matter secret. The relationship between Mavis and His Majesty is His Majestyʼs taboo and cannot be casually spread!”

Augustʼs eyes narrowed slightly. In truth, he had deliberately said this. Not only that, he also wanted the entire kingdom to know about this matter. He wanted to ask his father to give his mother a proper status.

”I understand, I understand.”

Jacob Lessio, Wahl Icht, Invel Yura, and Bloodman looked at each other. This involved their emperorʼs secret, and they did not have heaven-defying magic power and powerful strength like August. How would they dare to ask more? Did they think their lives were too long? They could only keep nodding, expressing that they understood.

From then on, the entire Alvarez Empire fell into Augustʼs hands. In front of the imperial palace, besides the imperial flag fluttering in the wind, there was now another flag swaying in the wind, printed with the Fairy Tail mark.

Heh, what Alvarez Empire? It was merely Fairy Tailʼs Western Continent branch.

At this moment, Zeref still did not know that he had merely gone out traveling, and his home was gone.
