Chapter 1187: Chapter 509: Jin Chanzi Passes Away, Zhao Feng Meets Sun Wukong! (2)

The voice was deep and solemn, as if bidding farewell to Jin Chanzi.

”Master Xuanzang, fare thee well.”

”... ”

The worshippers and devotees in the temple were also affected by this sorrowful atmosphere. With tears in their eyes, they all sincerely performed Buddhist rites to express their respect and reluctance for Jin Chanzi’s departure.

Each person, whether a fellow monk or a regular worshipper, had genuine sorrow written all over their faces, each revealing their grief over the passing of Jin Chanzi.

This lifetime.

Jin Chanzi’s life span was nearing ninety.

In today’s Qin, such an age is not considered high; even among mortals, it is just average.

However.

Jin Chanzi’s life was extraordinarily glorious.

He dedicated his entire life to promoting Great Qin Buddhism, living as an ascetic monk, deeply immersing himself among the common people, personally experiencing the suffering of all beings, using Buddhist teachings to heal and save the sick, and enlightening the wicked with compassion.

His every word and deed, every gesture and action, exemplified the compassion and wisdom of Buddhism, fully deserving the esteemed title of a master in the Buddhist sect.

”Everyone is truly saddened by Jin Chanzi’s passing.”

Guanyin quietly observed the scene below, feeling ripples in her heart, silently pondering: ”If it were in the West, such a scenario might never occur.”

”Even if similar events happened occasionally, they probably wouldn’t be so genuine.”

”Could it be that Great Qin Buddhism is the true path for the future development of the Buddhist sect?”

As the news of Jin Chanzi’s passing spread, the sound of mourning quickly resonated from the Buddhist temple.

The monks in the temple gathered together, wearing plain monk robes. Their faces were full of grief, as they recited Buddhist scriptures. These deep and solemn chants seemed to compose a dirge for Jin Chanzi, sending him off on his final journey.

Meanwhile.

The most powerful state governor of the region also rushed to the Buddhist temple.

With a serious expression, he walked quickly into the Buddhist hall.

He approached Jin Chanzi’s physical body, slightly bowed, and made a solemn gesture, then loudly announced: ”Master Xuanzang has passed. All of Mingzhou mourns deeply.”

”By the command of this state governor, use secret techniques to consecrate Master Xuanzang’s body in Mingzhou Temple, honoring Master Xuanzang with the title of Buddha.”

The governor’s voice was full of majesty, echoing within the Buddhist hall for a long time.

Upon hearing this declaration, the entire Mingzhou City was instantly in an uproar.

Countless citizens were taken aback by the news.

In Qin, there is no rule that determines a Buddha’s rank based on cultivation realm.

Because Great Qin Buddhism believes that one’s mind holding Buddha, Buddha is oneself.

And the position of Buddha does not refer to a true Buddha but requires the recognition of the people, holding a high place among the populace, gaining the worship of all citizens, and obtaining the consensus of government offices and the Imperial Court before being respectfully conferred.

This position does not value personal cultivation or strength but focuses on one’s virtues, the merit points accumulated, and the contributions made to the common people.

Qin has been in the Earth Immortal Realm for many years, yet those who can be conferred the Buddha title and gain the reverence of the populace are few and far between.

This time, Jin Chanzi achieving this honor, even if posthumously, is a supreme honor and the highest achievement in Great Qin Buddhism.

”Perhaps...” Guanyin gazing at the scene, feeling a stronger wave within her heart: ”I should truly stay in this Qin Court Territory and have a good look.”

”This Buddhist law, completely different from my sect, perhaps... this truly is the future path of the Buddhist path!”

At this moment, Guanyin was internally shocked like never before; the long-standing recognition of Western Buddhist orthodoxy began to waver.

In the next moment.

Guanyin suddenly flashed with golden light, and after the light dissipated, she had transformed into the image of a female ascetic monk.

She was seen wearing a simple brown monk robe, patched in several places, looking quite worn-out. She gently landed in a corner of the city, her eyes filled with curiosity and exploration towards this unfamiliar world.

However, Guanyin knew not that from the moment she entered Qin Territory, she was already noticed by Qin’s strong beings.

Had it not been for someone’s intervention, she would have long been surrounded by numerous Qin powerful figures.

Even though she possessed the terrifying combat power of Daluo Golden Immortal Peak, facing the current formidable Qin, she would certainly not stand a chance.

Mingzhou City, above the void!

A man dressed in a black king’s robe and wearing a black gold crown quietly hovered in the air, gazing downward as if he could see through all worldly matters.

Beside him, the governor of Mingzhou stood respectfully, eyes full of awe.

”Your Highness.”

The governor of Mingzhou slightly bowed, his tone carrying some confusion and incomprehension: ”This person seems to be a Bodhisattva of the Buddhist sect, why not reveal and warn her this time?”

The person before him was Zhao Feng.

The Crown Prince of Qin.

The creator of the Heavenly Court’s path of cultivation in Qin.

Such a major event as Jin Chanzi’s passing naturally required Zhao Feng to come and send him off on his final journey.

Therefore, every word of conversation between Jin Chanzi and Guanyin fell clearly into Zhao Feng’s eyes.

”Indeed, she belongs to the Western Buddhist sect now.”

Zhao Feng calmly said, ”But the future, who can tell for sure?”

”Among Immortals and Buddhas, not everyone regards all beings as ants. Many of them also bear hearts of compassion for all beings.”

”And this Bodhisattva Guanyin, her heart harbors compassion for all beings.”

”In the future, she might have the opportunity to join my Great Qin Buddhism.”

”I understand.” The governor of Mingzhou promptly replied respectfully, no longer speaking further.

”Pass my decree,” Zhao Feng’s expression turned serious, his tone carrying unquestionable authority: ”In the future, do not obstruct Venerable Guanyin in anything within my Qin Territory, let her personally experience all of Qin.”

”In the future, she will naturally gain insights.”

”I understand.” The governor of Mingzhou replied respectfully once more.

”Hm.” Zhao Feng nodded slightly.

His gaze pierced through layers of void, falling inside the Buddhist temple, upon the physical body of the already-departed Jin Chanzi.

With expectation in his eyes, Zhao Feng murmured to himself: ”In still a few hundred years, one lifetime is one cycle of reincarnation, and the Buddhist power cultivated through these cycles will all become your future potent assistance.”

”My Great Qin Buddhist path, the future Mixed Element Venerable might very well be you.”

”Jin Chanzi, do your best.”

”I have set a broad and smooth path for you.”

Coming to his senses, Zhao Feng suddenly remembered something, showing a faint smile: ”Your future first disciple should have caused enough chaos by now.”

As soon as he finished speaking.

Zhao Feng’s figure flickered and instantly disappeared from the void.

Huaguo Mountain!

Inside Shuilian Cave.

Sitting lazily atop a Monkey King’s throne made of a giant rock, Sun Wukong mused.

”Those Buddhist folks are truly disgusting.”

Sun Wukong secretly thought: ”They even dared to attempt to hook my soul to the underworld.”

”I am now at the Martial Arts King Realm with no limit to my lifespan, and they dare say my lifespan has ended.”

”But, I remember the elder saying, no matter where I’m led, just cause a stir.”

”This time, I’ve really stirred things up quite a bit in the underworld.”

Sun Wukong wore a cold sneer, harboring deep hostility toward the Buddhist sect, and also satisfaction with the ”results” of his turmoil in the underworld.

At this very moment.

A gentle and familiar voice softly reached Sun Wukong’s ears: ”Wukong.”

Upon hearing this.

Sun Wukong leaped up from the Monkey King’s throne, his former apathetic demeanor vanished instantly, replaced by excitement.

His eyes widened, looking around and shouting loudly: ”Elder, you’ve come.”

Answering the call.

Zhao Feng instantly appeared before Sun Wukong.

Seeing Zhao Feng for real, Sun Wukong’s joy was indescribable.

He immediately jumped excitedly in front of Zhao Feng, scratching ear and cheek in excitement while speaking loudly, ”Elder, I’ve finally seen you again.”

The appearance, like a child who hasn’t seen a relative for a long time, was full of innocence.
