My Youth Began With Him

“Was it Pudding or Little Bean?” Huo Mian knew that her daughters were the only ones who wouldn’t be able to help themselves from interfering.

“Can’t you lose some IQ points? Please?” Su Yu asked hopelessly.

Huo Mian: “Don’t listen to them, they’re just bored and have nothing else to do around the house. Plus, they’re not attending kindergarten, so…”

Su Yu: “While we’re on that subject, are you planning to homeschool them forever?”

Huo Mian: “I’m not sure yet, you know we don’t want to send them abroad. But none of the schools here suit them… they’re smart enough to go to high school, but they’re too young for that. The age gap will make their lives very troublesome.”

Su Yu: “You have a point.”

Huo Mian: “Did you need something?”

Su Yu: “Um, nothing, I just wanted to ask you if you had time. We should all get dinner together. I can call Wei Liao and the others.”

Huo Mian: “You want to treat us to dinner? I will be there.”

Su Yu: “A new hotpot place opened on Sanyuan Street, I heard it’s an ethnic minority specialty restaurant.”

“I’ll be there. Just tell me when,” Huo Mian immediately agreed.

“Um…” Su Yu wanted to say something but didn’t.

“If you want to ask me something, just ask.” Huo Mian knew Su Yu rarely chitchatted with her, so she took the initiative. “How have you been?”

“Pretty good?”

“Really? Don’t lie to me…”

Tm really fine.” Huo Mian smiled.

“If you’re unhappy or something, just tell me, don’t hold back.”

“Mhm, I know.”

“Okay then, I’ll let you go back to work.”

“Okay, talk to you later.”

Su Yu put his phone down with a sigh; he knew she wasn’t going to say anything. Huo Mian was an introvert and liked to keep to herself. It would be weird if she told him anything.

“President Su…” An walked in.

“So? Did you look into it?”

“Mhm, I did, but didn’t find anything. However, it seems like GK recently fired two employees, I wonder if it had anything to do with them.

“GK fired two employees? I don’t think that had to do with this…” Su Yu really didn’t think Huo Mian and Qin Chu would fight about something like this.

Suddenly, he thought of someone…

Shen Mingxi.

The other day, he told Su Yu that he and Huo Yanyan asked Huo Mian to beg for mercy for them in front of Huo Siqian. Was it because of that? Qin Chu was mad at Huo Mian for seeing Huo Siqian?

At this thought, Su Yu’s expression darkened. “Go and find out where Shen Mingxi is.”

Yes, Sir.”

-40 minutes later –

Shen Mingxi was enjoying tea and opera with Huo Yanyan when Su Yu walked in; the couple was obviously surprised to see him.

“Yu?” Shen Mingxi was careful; he still remembered being beaten up by him.

“Young Master Su,” Huo Yanyan greeted him as well.

The other day, the two of you saw Huo Mian and asked her to talk to Huo Siqian, right?” Su Yu went straight to the point.

“Yes.” Shen Mingxi nodded.

“When did she leave Huo Siqian’s place, and did she do something to her?” Su Yu asked with a dark expression.

“Um, I don’t know. Huo Mian went alone and Huo Siqian agreed to her request immediately. We didn’t ask for specifics,” Shen Mingxi replied.

“Ha, good, you burned your bridges right away, didn’t you?” Su Yu asked angrily as his fists tightened.

Young Master Su, I think you have misunderstandings against us,” Huo Yanyan realized that Su Yu was angry, so she carefully said.
