My Youth Began With Him

“The truth is, my health hasn’t been good over the last few years and I wouldn’t have lived this long if your mommy and daddy didn’t operate on me. So, I’m happy enough to have seen my granddaughters before I died… An old man like me knows that I should be content with what I have, I would never be so greedy.” Mr. Qin smiled.

“I’m the same way. Plus, your parents are so busy with work, so we don’t want to pressure them into having another child. Plus, we don’t have to have a boy in the family. It’s the 21st century, we’ve progressed with time； Mrs. Qin added.

“Okay, okay, you’re saying if it happens, it happens, and if it doesn’t, you’re okay, right?” Little Bean asked.

“You can say it that way.” Mr. Qin smiled as he took a sip of his tea.

“I bet it.ll happen, Mr. Qin and Mrs. Qin have been glued together recently…We don’t even need to worry, it_ll happen sooner than later…” Little Bean said in all seriousness like a little grown-up, causing their grandparents and even Pudding to laugh out loud.

“Little Bean, are you talking about us again?” At this time, Huo Mian opened the door and walked in.

“Crap, caught red-handed!” Little Bean immediately covered her mouth and fell silent.

Qin Chu walked up to them, sat down beside Pudding, and rubbed her head lovingly. “How’s the hoverboard?”

“We love it! We learned how to ride it in less than three minutes,” Little Bean showed off, while Pudding interrupted. ‘YOU used three minutes, it took me 45 seconds, okay?”

“Qin Zhaozhao, could you please not make me look bad? We’re from the same womb!” Little Bean retorted, feeling embarrassed.

“It’s okay.” Qin Chu smiled at his daughters.

“Did you guys have a romantic evening? Where’s the sea of flowers? You didn’t bring them home?” Little Bean glanced at Qin Chu and Huo Mian, and laughed.

“Should we talk about the fact that you asked your daddy to buy Gao Boyuan a hoverboard?” Huo Mian changed the subject on purpose.

“Ahem… Mommy, I’m so sleepy, I should go upstairs and get ready for bed, night!” Little Bean immediately ran upstairs in embarrassment.

Yawning, Pudding stood up as well. “I should keep an eye on her or she’ll flood the bathroom again… Goodnight, Daddy and Mommy… Goodnight, Grandma and Grandpa.”

Compared to Little Bean, Pudding was obviously more mature and worried more.

After the twins went upstairs, Huo Mian sat down on the couch as well. She smiled and asked Qin Chu’s mom, “Mom, did dad give you any gift today?’

“People our age don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day… Plus, in the past, your dad would just give me a credit card and tell me to buy whatever I wanted to…” Mrs. Qin complained.

Qin Chu put an arm around his mother. “Dad, you knew to buy your woman anything she wanted to even back in the day? Nice!”

“What are you talking about? Go to bed, guys, you have work tomorrow.” Mr. Qin’s face flushed as he lectured them.

“Did Ning-Ning call? Did Uncle Qin say anything about her going back?” Qin Chu suddenly remembered.

“She didn’t call, but your uncle did. He said something about a wedding? I didn’t really understand what he was talking about, you can call him tomorrow to ask him about it.” Mr. Qin recollected what his brother told him earlier.
