My Youth Began With Him

“Honey, are you sure we really need to do that?” Huo Mian was too soft; she couldn’t bear to watch that long and cold anesthetic needle stab into Little Bean’s tiny body.

“We need to do this so she suffers less pain. Trust me!” Qin Chu felt immense pressure but he still needed to encourage Huo Mian. At moments like this, one could tell who was the emotional support of the family. Ever since Huo Mian became a mother, her psychological endurance was no longer as strong as before.

When it came to her children, she acted like a vulnerable little girl that didn’t know what to do.

When they received Su Yu’s message, they were both panicking. Qin Chu took the lead to drive.

On the drive to the hospital, Huo Mian was so flustered that she didn’t even know where to put her hands. She was extremely discomposed because she almost had a mental breakdown when she heard that Little Bean had been rushed to South Side’s emergency room.

Qin Chu drove with one hand and put the other hand on Huo Mian’s hand to comfort her.

Only with that support was she able to get to South Side still mentally stable. When Huo Mian went inside the emergency room, she was still carrying a lot of personal emotions.

She was so anxious that she had no clue how to react…

Last year, there was a professor in the OB/GYN Department whose pregnant daughter was sent to the hospital in the middle of the night.

Although the surgery was a simple C section, this professor could not operate with her own daughter on the surgical table.

No matter how great a doctor she normally was, at the end of the day, she was still just a normal mother.

The situation was resolved by another OB/GYN Department doctor that lived nearby coming to the hospital and conducting the surgery.

Huo Mian didn’t understand that doctor’s feelings at that time. She thought that she would be able to treat her family like any ordinary patient.

However, she fully recognized how incapable she was to treat her own family.

Thank god there was Qin Chu there controlling the situation. While Huo Mian was frozen, the nurses held Little Bean down.

Qin Chu aimed at Little Bean’s spine and injected the anesthetic.

Although the dosage was not huge, it was a lot to a three-year-old child. It was a sufficient amount for Little Bean to fall asleep.

“Start the stomach pumping immediately!” Qin Chu commanded.

The emergency room was a messy place. During the whole operation process, Huo Mian was frozen, with cold sweat dripping down her face. She did not have the courage to do anything.

Everything was done by Qin Chu: injecting the anesthetics to the stomach pumping procedure. All that the nurses did was hand him tools.

Huo Mian stood on the side, witnessing the whole scene. Seconds felt like days to her.

She was even having terrifying thoughts crossing her mind: What if Little Bean died… How would she be able to live through that?

Qin Chu’s surgical skills were exceptional: he completed all the procedures perfectly and rapidly. The nurses were all astonished by the sight of his excellence.

They did not expect that Deputy Director Huo had a cool CEO husband who was also an exceptional doctor.

After completing Little Bean’s stomach pumping, he carefully took out the residual drugs and placed it on a sterilized plate.

“Get this to the lab and let me know what this is as quickly as possible!”

“Understood…” The nurse quickly ran out to the lab.

In less than 10 minutes, the results came out.

Huo Mian and Qin Chu were dumbfounded when they found out what the drugs were.

“According to the lab results, the drug is some type of date rape drug. The drug effects kick in quickly and are very strong… There are also some hallucinogenic effects to this drug…”

When Huo Mian heard the news, her brain felt like it was going to explode.

“Date rape drug? How?” Huo Mian felt like her world had just collapsed.
